Yup. Celia. While she was engaged to Fake!Grant Putnam-DVX agent-who fell in love with her and was redeemed. Ahhh, the good days of soapiness! And I mean the DVX storyline.

Yes!!!! GH's golden era!!!! Grant Andrews and Grant Putnam.  Remember Anna being held hostage by Fake!Grant's dog Satan? He couldn't handle Original Recipe Anna on his own and needed canine help.

LuluLuluLuluLulu. We had more mention of her today than in the last 6 months combined. So of course she’s coming back to disrupt the burgeoning Sante (Dam?) romance. My only question is, who’s playing her? I assume it’s not Emme, and Julie is too much to hope for.

I'm all for a LuLu recast. But - this one needs to be truly AWESOME, like the daughter of L&L should be. Otherwise, TPTB really shouldn't bother.

I hate to say this, because I still like the character, but Alicia Goranson is not a very good actress. There is something stiffly performative about her line readings, like she's projecting on stage or something and playing to the back of the house. She is acting. It shows. I never noticed it in the original show, she seemed more natural as a teenager. Not sure what the problem is now.

One of the all-time greats, Spencer Tracy I think, once said "the public should never see you acting." I know exactly what you mean. The odd thing is, AG has such unique facial features she's always interesting to watch. You don't see her "look" on TV very often. And yes, she did seem much more relaxed and natural in the show's original run.

The weirdest thing happened to me a couple years ago. I was trying a new blood pressure med and it made me lightheaded. One day I fainted. I broke my nose, split my lip and other assorted owies. The weird thing was, I no longer needed reading glasses.

Hey good friend Peaches! We haven't chatted in a minute. Good to know that the only lasting effects from that were only positive ones. Kind of like the stories where people come out of comas with newly acquired talents or the ability to speak a second language.

I'm impressed how Dan handled the conflict between his fiancée and his daughter. No drama, pushing for honesty, leaving them to sort it out once the elephant in the room had become visible. That was some good writing.

And acting as well. John Goodman does those "quiet moments" scenes better than almost anyone in the business, IMO.

I liked this conversation with the pastor a lot better than last week's - especially that he admitted that religion might not be the answer for Darlene. Her plot can go either way but I appreciate that he did not push for God as the one answer to all her problems and gave good advice.

Good acting from Jason Alexander as well. Funny and really subtle at the same time. Most of the cast brought their "A" games last night and made good use of some uneven writing.

So is there something in Becky's conversation with someone before the dinner (I didn't watch the first half) - maybe about her reading something upon looking him up after he got in contact with her - that is what she's referring to tonight as having caused her to infer he's married?

Not sure. I think it was in the writing/directing in Mike's first appearance - almost like they wanted to keep his relationship status vague in case the show-runners wanted to go down a relationship road. Mike didn't seem to have any romantic interest in her originally. But either way, I'm glad Becky got a little lovin' from a guy that seems really, really decent. One thing though - who keeps their glasses on during or after sex????

  7. An uneven but mostly ok episode. I too thought Mike was married, it seemed to be inferred in his first appearance. Also, guess I'm an old fogey, but do people that are just "old friends" just have spontaneous sex like that so easily? But I am glad the inter-racial thing wasn't brought up. Funniest parts of the episode: Mark as Wedding Planner (although a wee bit stereotypical) and Harris suddenly being ok with the Bridesmaid tradition once she realized how good she looked in that dress.

I called the potential Katherine hook up as soon as the actress arrived at the party.

I’m also calling this…I bet Gary’s cancer is going to return. They’ve made a reference to his breast cancer every episode this season when it hadn’t been mentioned in a very long time.

Oddly enough I had been waiting for Shanice to make a move on Rome. And was it just me or did Katherine seem uncomfortably flattered by being hit on?

Re: Gary's Cancer - it may be the thing that keeps him from going to jail for his role in the Peter episode. Seem like the exact way these writers would play it.

But they never cut in or anything. So they could have showed today's episode, they just chose not to for some reason. Very strange.

Here's another thought - if SBu tested positive for Covid fairly recently (and we don't know if others have or need to be Quarantined) it might have been necessary to close the set temporarily. The way Jason has been written lately he interacts with a fairly large segment of the cast on a regular basis.

It's because thanks to Dottie's dud comments, she realized that Bob would prefer the room to be different.

The odd thing is when everyone walked out of the room when Bob started playing "LaGrange" (one of my favorite songs) as Abishola walked in. Seemed liked the energy of the party was about to change and then it came to a screeching halt.

For those of you who've never heard the best version of that song: LaGrange

I broke a tooth last night and i have a hot date with a dentist's chair. i'm not sure if i'll be back in time to recap the episode. (i spent all the little energy i had getting to the dentist only to be told, while they were open at X time, no one was actually in for another 3.5 hrs. not amused). If  it's a quick patch job, I can grab a quick nap, then be good to go. :)

but just letting y'all know in case i can't.

Hey Daisy! Hope you're on the mend. Y'know...for a single dude like me without much family you guys are kind of my extended kinfolk and I really enjoy hanging out with virtually all of you. It really does mean a lot.

I find the extreme age gaps a bit awkward as well, especially with a character as immature as Maxie. However, I think it’s a given because this show is so heavy with 50 something male actors right now while there’s only around 4 actresses in the same age range and 2 of them are in established pairings.

Interesting. I don't see Maxie as immature, just a little bit flighty. It's endearing, actually. So many of the other female leads are so OTT dour and dreary...or in Nina and Sam's case bat-shit crazy...so Maxie brings some much-needed levity to the canvas -the way Lucy Coe USED to do.

Well, as this Board's resident admirer of feminine pulchritude, of course I have to weigh in, lol. It took awhile, but BLQ has grown on me; she's an exotic beauty with a little meat on her bones - some of us guys actually like that.🙃

And Maxie will always be a Rubenesque cutie to me. But...my range is wide - I've always thought Elizabeth is so gorgeous that it actually hurts to look at her sometimes.☺️

I in NO WAY meant any criticism, I was merely curious because every time I tuned in I saw the blue blazer, that's all.

Hi @ONE TOUGH COOKIE! I didn't take it that way at all, so sorry it seemed that way. Also, it seems that you're recovering from an illness, I hope that's going well.

Perhaps she isn't stick thin and is very shapely.  She is stunningly beautiful and they should show her voluptuousness, we won't fall into shock seeing the figure of someone who isn't a 0-2.

BLQ really is gorgeous, her skin and bone structure are to die for.

  15. Just randomly wondering if MB, LW and SBu really have a large enough fan following to justify them being the leads? As the Nixon Fails S/L shows, there's really nowhere to go with these characters, any attempt at real drama is a short-term contrivance.  There's never any scenario where the holy trinity ever loses.

Even on Y&R Jack Abbott can battle Victor Newman to a well-earned draw every once in a while (although I once read that Eric Braeden actually has it written into his contract that the Great Victor Newman can never truly lose).

With the holy trinity there's never any suspense, no surprises. Even with GH's hack writing crew a legacy character like Laura can keep you interested by getting elected Mayor.  We've got characters like Jax who truly deserve their own storyline. BLQ has become compelling enough now that a really juicy arc could be written with her, but we're not likely to get it.

  16. Haven't watched the episode yet, seems like fun. It appears that here in the tri-state area the WB has relegated Supergirl to Saturday afternoon at 4pm. I hadn't seen it on the prime time schedule in quite some time. Talk about playing out the string. I'm wondering what the series finale will look like.

    Did a little rewrite.

Thanks. That's mostly how I remember Sonny because Luke killed Frank Smith in order to prevent the mobster from killing Sonny. But I checked GH Wiki and Sonny did indeed have a Port Charles history that slightly preceded him meeting Luke, Jagger, et al.

So agree. Didn’t Alexis have an awesome speech like that at Kristina’s grave years and years ago?

Yep. I stole the "staging vendettas" line from Alexis when she was telling Sonny and Jason off at her sister Kristina's funeral. It was a joy to behold.

They interlap the conversations. basically it's "DO IT, because you won't know if you don't try." nice romantic-y music. They bump into each other again, and Chase and terry split. They awkwardly talk about trivia.... and Finn asks her out! Liz is like YAH! OKAY! AWKWARD BABY LOVE SMILES. Liz drags terry off. Chase has a big goofy grin. THIS WAS THE BEST PART OF THE SHOW!!

YES!!!!!  I'm getting my Fizz and probably ChaseLynn too. This darn show knows how to keep me coming back. Finn and Liz were like junior high school kids, and it was very sweet and cute, just like Liz dragging Terry off at the end - I have a strong feeling that was ad-libbed on Becky's part. If so, nice touch.

I’m hoping that Danny gets closer to his friend and last minute he has second thoughts about going.  And, his mom says she’s glad and that he should stay. Now that his sister is 18, she can act as his guardian and they both stay in the house.  Then, something happens and Gary’s girlfriend’s new job falls through. He has no where to live so he, girlfriend and her son move into Delilah’s house…..maybe…,lol

That would actually be some pretty good writing....which means it probably won't happen.

    6 hours ago, SnazzyDaisy said:

Hey Delilah and Tyrell, please don’t come back! 😅

Agreed. Something about Tyrell just bugs me. Like another poster said, sometimes he acts like he's in charge of Rome and Gina, and other times he acts like their peer. And he always has that "I'm working a scam" air about him. No, I don't like that kid at all. And taking the ear buds without asking was just typical of him. Hopefully Rome never gets them back.

And is it just me, or did Delilah's French accent seem stronger than ever before? And Gary...the "why haven't we slept together yet?" in front of her kids was just too OTP. As I've said before, Gary just tries too hard, although he did have some pretty good one-liners last night.

Like another poster said, this seemed like more of a series finale and a season opener. The real series finale probably won't be that good.
