I can't get the lovely primetimer search feature to work, but I was just going off what someone else had posted months ago about point - to paraphrase what I remember - the dancers are more concerned with making the team and their performance, no one goes into it with the goal of point, and overall it's not that big of a deal amongst the group. I am sure whoever gets chosen as point, then yes, individually it becomes a big deal. Being point would never be a dream of mine if I were an NFL cheerleader. It's hard being out front and being blind to what is going on behind you in front of this massive audience. And the pressure on you to not make one mistake, ever. That is a role for some, but definitely not all.

You aren't wrong. I wanted Ashlee for point for awhile, but there were other contenders just as equally deserving. I really thought it would be Caroline/Ashlee, but Kelcey is also amazing and admirable and not less deserving. Ashlee's behavior on social media immediately after the last playoff games alluded to her retiring, then suddenly Gina retires, and Ashlee decides to stay. I still think Ashlee is phenomenal and fun to watch, but it seemed like she was on the fence about even coming back. Did the idea of point sway her the other way? Point didn't become a huge deal until Kashara got named when Jenna was demoted. It didn't really become about seniority until the Amy/Maddie year, Amy being the only 5th year vet on the team. Nicole H., Crystal, Kashara, were all points that got it on their 3rd year over more senior vets. I personally like the most dynamic dancers at other key places in the triangle, they can add their own sass on the side without worrying about lines and leading the group. I think Marissa, Claire, etc. shine in spots like these.

I love how today's official DCC promotion uses a photo of Erica. Not like they don't have thousands to choose from with other DCC. Oh, the irony - it makes me chuckle. I don't think in any way is it like a thumb at her, like we still have rights to your image for all time! I think really it is just an oversight by the people doing their PR, no one noticed. https://www.instagram.com/p/ChkHm9Ppv9g/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

Thanks for sharing! I love Hannah and still follow her over at the Luvabulls. Two things I noticed: 1. Her midwest accent! Maybe it never left, but it is back full force since she returned to Chicago. 2. It sounds like she was never comfortable with K&J. It kinda reinforces how TPTB only let a precious few DCC get close (like Jinelle) and others are left in an insecure place, walking on eggshells. It makes me sad - to finally make the team and to constantly have that insecurity that you will be disapproved of or gone at any second. No wonder she was down in the dumps in season 15 - She wasn't a DCC that needed to improve, she was an amazing dancer and performer that needed a positive environment to thrive in, and instead that constant threat of disapproval dragged her down 😥

All Past Seasons of the Late Lamented Show
StellaCL replied to ByTor's topic in Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making The Team
I don't feel strongly either way, I kind of prefer the split point to highlight different talent. There are definitely fans on the forums that prefer a singular point. I only know the points from the MTT years. Nicole H. was iconic. I think Gina deserved point, even though I used to not like her facials. And I forever will love Maddie, she really excelled as a DCC. And I will die on the hill saying I am glad she was point! 😆 Meh points to me were Whitney, Mia, Jenn A. and Rachel. Especially the latter two. Kashara and Holly H. were fine. Amy was cute. Jenna should have had her year though, she would have been great. The only cut this year was Lisa. She took a year off due to neck surgery and then was not invited back into training camp. There haven't been any other cuts since 2020 when Hannah, Brennan, Lily, and Meredith were cut. In 2021, both Amanda and Alora Rose quit during training camp, and Lisa had to have her neck surgery. I think a lot of the different looks the ladies have are due to facial injections. Kat posted video once of her getting injections. Minimal recovery time if any compared to old school plastic surgery. It is obvious on a few DCC - Gina, Jalyn, Madeline M. Lip injections obvious on Elli and Dani. I am not knocking improving your look, I hope to do the same some day. -
All Past Seasons of the Late Lamented Show

6. Rumor has it Gina moved back to LA, so she won't even be around as an All Star. 7. Nothing salty, no show this year. Lisa attempted to come back and was cut at finals. They ended up taking 37 on the team, no news about how that will play out for games this season. Rumor has it one of the rookies was injured prior to tryouts and camp (Zhenya), but she still made the team. Not sure to what extent or what her story is regarding her injuries, possibly burns? Nothing has been confirmed though. Part of me wonders if they took 37 because they know a few of the DCC are nursing injuries and they are expecting some to sit out during the season. But? That is just random speculation. -
I noticed Bre more than Ariana, but they are both so good. I will be so annoyed if Bre doesn't make it to TC next year (if she tries out again). Ariana is not my favorite, so I have no opinion of her returning. Melanie needs to sharpen up to be DCC style, but it is hard to judge by one video. She could just be having fun, or trying to be more relaxed, or tired. Who knows. They pan off Natalie the most in this video. She seems good and can keep up next to Bre and Ariana, but she is more of a blender in this clip.

I appreciate the discourse and different opinions we all bring to the discussion. I certainly have my opinions and don't think less of you @go4luca if you have a different one. My comment was more for the specific posts and online behaviors (i.e. creating new screen names) that are designed only to troll and attack Victoria. I see it here once in awhile. I see it on Reddit too. It's trollish, it's bullying, and it is so so tired. Incessant harrassment. Different thing. 🤷♀️

I am not the biggest fan of Victoria, but the incessant online harassment posts of her have gotten really, really old.

All Past Seasons of the Late Lamented Show
StellaCL replied to ByTor's topic in Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making The Team
Not yet - no season 15 or 16. -
https://www.instagram.com/p/ChA-pl2L_xd/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link I am desperate for a show, and will ravenously watch anything that gets posted, but the bad background music and the reusing of the high neck pink-blue uniforms (last seen in 2019 maybe?) kinda put the nail in the coffin for the hopefuls out there that they were going to surprise fans with anything, like an alternate show. I think the best we can hope for is video clips by their own DC production occasionally relased on social media.

It wasn't until the covid year that they became really top heavy with more and more vets trying for year 4 and 5. Perhaps TPTB are sensing this trend will continue with the upcoming 2nd and 3rd years - out of this group they have only lost Sydney, Alora Rose, and Amber L. with the potential of Amber L. trying to return. If they really wanted to clean house though they would cap the team at 4 years, not 5. The five year rule will hardly change a thing, and it could potentially have the opposite effect and incentivize some DCC to want go for the brass ring and complete the whole 5 years. Is it just me or do you feel like TPTB would gladly go back to the days where vets were more likely to retire after 1-2 years. It allows them more room to recruit top talent while dancing around the idea of vet cuts that would make room for the fresh faced rookies. There are probably at least 4 or 5 DCC right now that I am sure they wouldn't mind an early retirement.
-
Huh. It’s not like they had an excessive amount of DCC trying to do this. Only Jenna and Sydney in the past 17 seasons, right? So the rule starts after Amy, Maddie, and Tess retire but before Gina, Lexi, Ashlee, Jalyn, and Caroline do. Lexi announced her retirement early on during her final year. So what, they didn’t want Gina back?

There has been speculation on Reddit that at TCC (Zhenya) is injured enough that she is getting a pass on doing the jump split. This all started right after Alyssa (TCC - who was also injured) got cut. The person stirring the pot had a brand new user name of course. My suspicion is that there is some bitterness, particularly around the Alyssa cut, and so rumors were posted to insinuate things about Zhenya. It has not been confirmed by an insider on Reddit or here, although there hasn't been any insiders around much this year without the show. I don't follow any facebook groups - I suspect there is probably discussion over there as well. Sometimes rumors have a grain of truth, sometimes not. I think this one is a bit ridiculous to start because we won't have a show this year to verify any of it and it seems cruel right off the bat to imply a TCC didn't deserve to make the team - that will follow them their entire DCC career. Zhenya and Alyssa were both shown with ace bandages and tape on their legs. Zhenya performed the kickline by herself at finals. That is all we really know so far.

Wow, that had Kelcey as point with Claire and Caroline in the triangle. A sign of things to come? I am surprised they didn't use Ashlee, Kat, or Chandi. But it was just a brief clip, I definitely am curious to see more. Yeah, it looks like all 14 of the 2021 show group are there. I haven't seen Chandi yet, but she did post a photo of an Oxnard jersey. Edit: I think I can make out Chandi for a second in the clip posted by ClassicPegg above.
-
Kleine was not show group for 2021. 2021 show group is who went to Oxnard plus Dani and Kelee. I have seen these 2021 members there: Caroline, Ashlee, Jalyn, Claire, Marissa, McKenzie, Darian, Armani and Tyra in social media posts, except no photos yet of Chandi, Kelcey, Kat, Tori, and KayDianna. Retiring vets do not go so we won’t be seeing Gina, Lexi, Rachel, or Amber M. No news on who made show group for the 2022 season, or if there even is going to be one. I think they should retire show group and just use the vets that are available for appearances.
-
This was the second or third time Alyssa tried out? I am always curious how long the journey is for some of the candidates that eventually make the team, or for the ones that are just as good, but never manage to make it. Online auditions being the thing for the past 3 years has made this info harder to come by. I hope Alyssa fully heals and comes back next year.

So any predictions for cuts? Basely this only off social media, which isn't much.... Safe: Sophy, Victoria. Victoria's coming back way strong, we all know that. Like or love her, she's not getting cut over dance ability. And Sophy reminds me of Gina when she was a TCC. Probably safe: Kally, Marissa, Zhenya, Alyssa. Kally has a lot of clips posted. I am sure the transition to DCC style won't be hard for her, since she has been a pro cheerleader before - she goes fast in her clips, hopefully rushing won't be a problem for her. Marissa seems to be the complete package they look for in a DCC, I didn't find many clips, but I expect her to make it. Zhenya and Alyssa have been shown to have wrapped or taped knees during TC- hopefully not a big deal. And I will put Kylie in this group as well - as she is so well connected with the 2nd years it would be a very painful cut if K&J choose to do that again, and I am not sure they will. No info: People say Kayla H is great but I didn't find any clips of her dancing. At risk: Karley, Kali, and Amanda. I only post this because the first two had underwhelming dance clips on social media, but they are years old. Amanda because they cut her so early last TC, and unless she has improved dramatically, she still remains at risk in my mind. Kali has the height, which I think helps her, they need height in the kickline to help balance Jada. Tori isn't enough. I have no idea who I would cut though - it seems like an impossible choice. Disappointed to see Kayla G. cut, I was rooting for her! My other favorite is Zhenya, I hope she makes it.
