5th Year: Gina (would've been Lauren if she hadn't retired. I'm also really disappointed we never got to see Kalyssa as point of the triangle-she would've rocked it) 4th Year: How can I pick just one? It would've been Bridget if she hadn't retired, but I'll go with Amber on the current squad. 3rd Year: Kelcey (Chandi a close second) 2nd Year: Claire 1st Year: Madeline S. but it's still early

Not at all surprised by who we voted for Show Group (I voted for the exact same people), but I am very surprised by the order of some of these. In particular, I’m surprised to see McKenzie so low. I’m also surprised to see Chandi and Jalyn above Ashlee, Caroline, Amber, Kelcey, and Rachel. Reason being for Jalyn, although she has great lines and technique and deserves her spot on SG, she has low kicks/is not very flexible.

I know there's only been a few audition videos, but this is the best one so far! I searched her name on YouTube and her audition solo was the first result. I recognized not only the costume, but several moves in this video that were shown in the episode. It's a spectacular solo.

I agree! And as annoying as it was to hear the obviously scripted conversation and over-adoration of Maddie (she's a great dancer, but c'mon, there's so many great dancers on the current team too!), I was glad that we got to hear from Judy their contender's for point. I wasn't surprised they mentioned Rachel, Caroline, Amber, and Gina. I was a little surprised they didn't mention either Lexie or Ashlee.

I agree. While I thought Amy seemed like a solid dancer, leader, and teammate (from what we see on the show), there’s not enough power or projection for the top spot. I think they appreciated her reliability and dedication after the drama from the previous few years and wanted to reward that. I also thought Jennifer’s “V’s” with her arms were too wide, but that’s just personal preference. That being said, they all looked great. It was cool to see the variety in their dance styles. I particularly liked Kashara’s power and Maddie’s sass.

It's hard for me to say since they have different strengths and different styles. For example, I'd rank Dani higher than Darian in lyrical, but I consider Darian a stronger dancer than Dani in the DCC style power pom. Overall, I think yours is very accurate.

They looked great in what I saw of them in the triangle. Gina really sparkled as point. I was shocked to see the low kicks and poor timing on the kick-line, but the more I think about it they only have 14 girls out of 36 that have danced on the field before (not counting this years rookies or the second years who danced on the decks last year) so maybe that has something to do with it? I hope they're able to work out those details in practice.

I agree with this! I could see them having Caroline as a 1GL in place of Rachel W. Rachel has the look and they clearly love her, but I think Caroline (or even possibly Amber) have more of the personality for it based off what I’ve seen. I think they’ve had points that aren’t a first leader before?

Sad to see Daphne go! She was a great dancer. If she had been part of a different rookie class, I think she would have gotten a lot more recognition. There was just too much talent in the 2018 class. As sad as I am to see all the retirements, I'm trying to keep positive that maybe this will make room for some of my fave & returning TCCs. We all know how Kelli loves her "bouquet" of hair colors and with the last few retirements being blondes, maybe this will make it easier for them (Ashlinn and Madeline).

I’m shocked! I really liked Amanda’s look and style of dance. I thought she brought something unique to the team. I was looking forward to seeing her hopefully in a position of leadership and higher visibility in formations. But if she’s leaving for anti-vaccine reasons, then I say good riddance. Go prolong the pandemic elsewhere. I hope to see Kelcey and Chandi as 2GL.
