  1. I have Roku Live on in the background a lot (Antiques Roadshow reruns I've seen thousands of times). There's an ad for SparkTV (some even-worse-than-B- garbage *romance* channel) that runs way too frequently. There's a woman who says she felt whatever in her soul. The way she says "soul" makes me want to stab forks in my ears. It comes directly from her sinus passages and sounds like a goose honk. WHYYY????!!!!

  3. I watched some of her FB (apparently live) vid launching her furniture and other whatever stuff. After all these years, Ree and the rest are still horrendously awkward on camera. And her wares are still crap.
  4. One example. https://www.pbs.org/newshour/show/texas-woman-describes-ordeal-with-state-abortion-law-after-miscarriage
  5. It isn’t about having insurance. It’s about being able to access the necessary medical care.
  6. And her physical well-being. Depending on the state one lives in, a miscarriage is extremely dangerous. I hope she was/is able to obtain healthcare.
  7. Snow didn't stop flat roofs from being utilized in ND during that style period. My husband's parents lived in one.
  8. I must be missing something? It's my understanding mid-century modern refers to a style typical to a particular time period, and there's quite a few such houses in the Fargo-West Fargo-Moorhead area and ND in general.
  9. While prices have dropped some since a year or two ago when inventory was low from people trying to take advantage of low interest rates, property taxes and special assessments in Fargo and West Fargo are ridiculously high and only slightly less so in Moorhead. It's common for special assessments on new builds to be $40-50K or more. I don't know what city they built in, but property tax alone on their 4 bed 3 car garage is likely around $5000 per year plus another $3000 (or more) annually on the special assessment balance. And the interest rate on unpaid specials is not low. Five years ago, we bought a place in Fargo that was built in 2003. Remaining specials were $12K (that's considered "low specials") and the interest rate was around 7% so we decided to pay them off. Homeowners pay so developers can rake in big $$. Taxes put home ownership out of reach for many and force elderly out of their homes. https://www.inforum.com/newsmd/fargo-couple-gets-relief-from-sky-high-specials-but-still-plans-to-sell-house
  10. As I recall, Ladd's neck was broken. After neck surgery and two back surgeries, my husband has that same stooped posture. Spinal fusion surgeries mean no more movement in the fused area.
  11. They're pretty much the same thing just different names
  12. The importance of Black generational wealth has a deep history and active present, in the USA and worldwide. There's lots of great resources about it.
  13. In one of the forums, someone said they bought them at a Macys in NY. Another mentioned being a buyer for a chain, going on buying trips to Canada, buying thousands and still not being able to keep up with demand.
  14. http://www.inthe70s.com/clothes/hashjeans0.shtml They were made in Canada. I lived in ND near the border when they were popular. People in the above link talk about being in CA, MT, AK and ND and wearing/buying them. Maybe Hash jeans were a regional thing. Google doesn't bring up much info. I saw one site that said a Canadian company was going to reintroduce them in a newer version that sounds nothing like the old style. :(
