seems like the new judging rules are going to punish excessive pre-rotation, full blade assist, and change of edge between combo jumps. Suggests the judges want to end the Russian dominance

Any chance Deanna Stellato could compete for the US again? I could see her and Timothy as a good team

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK: Fierceness Across the Pond

Interesting, I could see that being the case. It was so weird that the narrative was suddenly that Divina bragged too much, after all season it's been that she lacks confidence. I feel like Divina maybe could have won if she had a better final look and final speech. Maybe Ru wanted to see The Vivienne doing Trump for the webisodes? -
ugh, why would anyone let Eisler coach?
-
Heck, Zagitova, reigning World and Olympic champion, might not make the World team. From what I can tell from the commentary, Madison Chock tends to skate on the flat of the blade and not be on the correct edges in some of the steps? I think you have to be pretty familiar with the different patterns to know what is wrong.

She should not have given up Margaret Thatcher. I think Baga would have backed down if Divina had gone ahead because Baga's funny enough to do other characters. She should have definitely not given Baga her costume! Have some competitive instinct! I have no idea who's going win at this point. Baga and Vivienne are kind of getting a bitch edit. Divina seems not confident enough. Crystal's kind of a dark horse, but would they let a Canadian win the first UK drag race? -
I follow a lot of drag queens on Twitter, but I hadn't heard about any of this. So disturbing and disappointing. I had been a fan of his music. Ugh.

Agree. Also, I couldn't tell exactly what all of Crystal's materials were, but it seemed like a lot of fabric and not much unconventional stuff? -
Practice footage if anyone's interested...

Apparently she was told she couldn't wear the look she brought with her: I know she was going for an Oddjob thing, but I wish she had made herself some laser tits. -
I think Hamilton is probably too difficult to choreograph dances to? Would like to see it tried though or something to Hadestown next season. Loved Yokoi's program! What music is that? It built to the that ending. She really sold it well. It was fun to see her go from her performance face to her fierce competitor face after the music finished.

I was very impressed how she sold that stupid Twilight program. The dripping blood on the dress was ridiculous. Her performance was great though! I felt bad for Tuktamysheva though. I don't think the gap between them should have been so large. Her jumps have height, trajectory, and correct edges and she's not getting high GOE.

I was surprised as well, just because he seemed like the type that could be a fan favorite. Think Ru feels burned by the Pearl situation and is now not going to keep someone just for the audience? I actually like the cheapness. I feel like US Drag Race has gotten too expensive and expects the queens to come with 10s of thousands of dollars in looks. Plus lower stakes makes the queens act more naturally, I think. -
I think Alina was the more athletic skater to begin with and had slightly better technique. Evgenia's also working on skating skills and speed. I don't want to open a can of worms, but do we think Icarus-type stuff is still going on? How widespread is doping in figure skating in general? Finlandia Trophy has started. Tuktamysheva's performance has gotten a lot better! I think this will be a really great program. But she's not getting positive GOE on her lutz? even though it's amazing? https://www.rockerskating.com/news/2019/10/11/2019-finlandia-trophy-play-by-playresults-ladies-short

I think figures could be interesting in the youtube age. They wouldn't need to show it as part of the main broadcast. Cameras on the skate blades? Curling seems to be popular because it's slow and soothing. Seeing people trace figures could have similar appeal. Yeah, who knows what will happen with quads? Tursynbayeva is currently injured. Shcherbakova broke her leg a few years ago. With what we hear about Eteri's daily weigh-ins and not letting Zagitova drink water at Worlds, nutrition is not a high priority. Injuries seem inevitable.
