The “Oooh you don’t want to mess with Heather” shtick is also super weird when they themselves spent all last season going after Heather. Tamra is the one I would never, ever want to mess with, as she has zero boundaries or loyalty.

I like to rag on Heather as much as the next person, but … it doesn’t really seem like she’s done anything wrong here? Like, *maybe* she called the paparazzi, or more likely had her assistant call them or whatever (maybe Terry called them? Who knows!), but it’s also possible that she and Terry saw the paparazzi were there and *then* started posing. Also, if you’re on a show like this and you hear about a new cast member coming on, OF COURSE you’re going to Google them and snoop on their Instagram and ask your mutual friends what they’re like. A lot of us race to the internet when we learn about new cast members, and we’re not even on the show! She’s scoping out social media photos, not hiring Bo Dietl to sift through Katie’s tax returns. In summary: SHRUG.

I go back and forth on how I feel about Jenn. On one hand, grown-ass helpless women who have relied on men their whole lives are a real trigger for me. And obviously, Jenn publicly living the life she does (glam, Vegas, nice car) when she's just been evicted is like holy bad optics, Batman!! So a big part of me is like, oh my God, woman, ditch that pile of Ed Hardy vomit, pack up your kids, move them back to Oklahoma, and get a job with a temp agency. But, on the other hand, is that the most sound financial decision? She'll probably earn a lot more by staying where she is and appearing on this show than she would as a low-wage worker (which is what she'd be, since she doesn't appear to have much of a work history) or earning $50 per yoga class. It's like when people would critique Jon & Kate for putting their kids on TV. Like, yes, on one hand, I really have a problem with kids being filmed for reality TV. They can't consent, and it can be very exploitative. On the other hand, what was their other option? Raise eight kids on their regular salaries minus massive childcare costs? I also wonder if Jenn is getting her glam comped? It wouldn't shock me if there were folks willing to do that for free for the exposure and Jenn just can't say that because of the fourth wall. I digress. On an unrelated note, I want to like Katie but she's coming across as too thirsty too early. I'm surprised she didn't cross-examine Sutton about her small esophagus.

I guess it's at least possible? There are people who have emotional affairs but wait 'til they're officially separated to begin anything physical. Regardless, why Jenn would want to have one with this pile of Ed Hardy vomit remains a mystery. -

Isn't that according to Tamra? I mean, maybe she was! But if Tamra is the only source... -

I mean, Alexis was on the show first, so I could see her feeling like she has rights to it... But, she's basically doing everything short of waving pornographic photos of her and Johnny J. in Shannon's face. It's sick.- 105 replies

Doesn't Jenn claim she didn't have an affair? Or am I confusing her with someone else? Last time Alexis was on the show, she said gay people shouldn't be allowed to get married and women aren't smart enough to be president, soooo... -
S18.E2: Rent and Reputations
ladle1 replied to ZettaK's topic in The Real Housewives Of Orange County
I really don't think Jenn falsified documents! In the coffee shop, when Jenn said "Do you think I rented the house knowing that I wasn't going to be able to pay?" Gina said "I don't think you think about these things at all," not "You knew you couldn't pay and you duped us" or whatever. Like, not even Gina is going so far as to say that Jenn set out to defraud people. It seems as though Jenn assumed she'd be able to pay the rent. Jenn thinks that assumption was valid, and Gina thinks that assumption was invalid (and that once Jenn realized she couldn't pay the rent, she should have acted very differently). I agree with another poster that we, as viewers, would need more information to decide if Jenn's assumption that she would be able to pay the rent was valid or not. I do agree that, regardless, Jenn spending money on glam when she's just been evicted is a really bad look. There are a lot of things I don't understand here. Like, why Jenn's dad needed to be involved in the lease if the landlord just took Gina's word that Jenn was good for the $? And whether Gina is right that this had any impact on her business or whether she's using this as a storyline (or both!)? Normally I'd say it's just for a storyline, but she seems legitimately pissed off ... I also don't understand why I am oddly invested in this. -

I don't think they did just take her word, though, because why else would Jenn's dad have to serve as guarantor? Clearly there was some diligence done. Honestly, none of this makes sense to me.- 205 replies

Zing! Tamra will buy a vowel renewal. That just makes me think of Cocomelon. "Hey hey, it's JJ!" (Any other parents of toddlers here? Just me? I'll see myself out...) -

I guess I'm just wondering about the timeline. Did she rent the house assuming that she'd have money coming in from her ex to pay rent, and then for some reason his circumstances abruptly changed and she was no longer getting that money? If that's the case then I have sympathy for her. But if she rented the house knowing that she wouldn't have the money to pay the rent, that is absolutely wild! And why on earth would her dad serve as her guarantor if that were the case?? -

I usually would agree with this if the DUI were an isolated incident, but in Shannon’s case we have seen so many instances of blacking out/forgetting/poor decisions related to alcohol that it seems clear to me that she has some sort of problem. That said, if the whole season is the women shaming Shannon and telling her she’s in denial, that’s not going to make for an interesting or fun season of TV.

I’m not a huge Gia fan, but in this case she may actually be right, as the bar for being smarter than these women is quite low.

I’m just going to say this. I have historically hated the husbands/partners on this show (Ok, Evan seems not-terrible)— nay, I have hated most husbands/partners across all of the RHW franchises - but I kind of … LIKE Paulie. And I kind of like him for Delores. Now, because it’s this show, I’m sure it’ll eventually come out that he makes his money from kicking puppies or selling heroin to schoolchildren but for now… please allow me to revel in the warm embrace of this new feeling. -

I agree that many of these women have retro ideas about gender roles, and it drives me nuts, but in this case - eh, it feels very much like just a plotline? It doesn’t seem like Dolores really has very much else going on, and Melissa even said Dolores didn’t seem to care too much about it. They keep asking her about it, yeah, but to me it has the ring of actors dutifully reciting their lines. I really hate the toxic seasons where all they do is scream and say awful things to each other, so I’m not sure I’ll be able to hang on through this one… -

I couldn't process anything about this episode because I was too distracted by Margaret's headgear in the scene with Jen Fessler. Was it composed of moldy onions? A child's craft project? Why does this item exist in the world? I'm at a loss. -

I felt like it was stupid to do this party theme on this particular franchise, when they all look so alike already. Taylor, Tamra, and Jen are basically the same person already. Right?! If this isn't a meme already, it should be. This show is rapidly circling the drain, but the editors are really doing the lord's work. -
