I agree. I would have to re watch the older seasons, but I don't recall David having a bad relationship with his three daughters . I believe he would support them getting a college degree.

When Shannon and David finalized their divorce I remember him buying the oldest daughter a luxury car. He gifted the twins also with a lot $$$ things. But this was before he had a baby with his new wifey. I don't understand how Shannon didn't make sure that the girls would have their college tuitions covered either by David or jointly by both and her David. For me that would be one of the most important negotiations to have besides child support.

It's odd that David would not be responsible for paying the college expenses of the three kids. I hope he would pay for them even if it wasn't part of an agreement.

Even if he doesn’t have an agreement to be responsible for helping with the girls college tuitions he should be a mensch and step up and split the costs with Shannon. What a complete shit head David is not to help. It’s almost as though he’s decided to abandon them in terms of support. What a jerk.

Are Brussel Sprouts the new Kale? Definitely the fad du jour right now. A lot of people on these shows are ordering them and there are a ton of recipes for roasted, sautee, blah blah brussels as appetizers, side dishes, etc....

Yikes! Those things are gas creators!

I watched for a while and had the same thought. Did they deliberately want to show us that Heather was always that bad? Wasn't there a season where she was actually a halfway decent person? Still pretentious, but kinda human? Because I don't recall detesting her before and now I am wondering why

    She's always been an asshole.

Yeah...she was quite the diva and dressed to show off her assets on TV. She seemed to be all about herself and wanting to be on the beach. Didn't really say much about what the kids needed. This poor guy treats her like a princess and that can be quite tiring after awhile.

However, I really liked the couple, and those adorable kids, and hope they love the house they picked.

Owning the 21 acres insures that no future development will be going in there...no strip malls, office buildings or condos. Seems like smart move on their part.

There was something I enjoyed about this episode.  In the scene with Emily and Gina and their significant others at the restaurant, Emily and Gina are talking full force of their respective dramas, while the guys are having their own somewhat less dramatic conversation.  The same thing with the scene with Heather and Nicole in the car with their significant others, Heather and Nicole are chatting away while Terry and Nicole's beau are having their own conversation.  I love that these guys do not give a shit what's going on!

Unlike Terry Dubrow who has to insert himself into every "chick" convo...

Shannon sucks down vodka like a bilge pump on a battleship, but won't allow prescription medications anywhere near her.  OK.

For anyone who is interested, according to the State Bar, Shane works for a firm in Long Beach that defends employers in workers compensation cases.  They haven't updated their list of attorneys to include him yet:

I hated Emily’s dress with cleavage in the front and back. I wasn’t sure which side was which.

Yes! That black dress that Emily squeezed herself into was a disaster...did she not turn herself around to see what her backside looked like when she was checking herself out in the mirror? Good grief...that was just hideous.

I don’t think Dr. Jen is a good addition and I’m sick of all the Botox crap. They all look so fake at this point. The lawsuit girl is the ugliest thing, I’m guessing she started out pretty.
Heather is such a pretentious snobby asshole. They always thought they were better than Shannon and David. I remember Terry making rude remarks about David being in construction. I’m no David fan but a good contractor is more important than a plastic looking plastic surgeon in my opinion.
Gina is annoying. What an ass kisser she is being to Fancy Pants. They really didn’t need to turn on Shannon.
Ginas lost weight but still looks like a linebacker. Emily too. Maybe it’s that their clothes are not flattering.
Poor Noella. They need to get the husband on camera. I wonder what his deal is.

Thank you for bringing up Terry’s “dis” of David Beador for being in construction…I remember that scene well. I was really appalled at Terry’s dismissive and snotty comment…like owning a large construction firm is so beneath him…which is funny since Terry spent a small fortune on constructing their version of Versailles. Of all people he should have respect and admiration for someone who runs a successful construction company. Lord knows he and his vapid wife seem to spend a lot of time and money working with construction people. What’s  so funny is that in the world of medicine and doctors, plastic surgeons are looked down on as being playboys and doctors that make money off of peoples insecurities about their appearance. I know this because my Dad was a physician and used to say this about plastic surgeons. No disrespect to plastic surgeons that actually do good work repairing damage from accidents or other maladies…just for the guys that make their money doing nose jobs, breast augmentation and face lifts. Terry is a bully and so is his bourgeois wife.

In addition to 6666 and 1883, Sheridan and Terrence Winter are also writing a show for Paramount+ called Kansas City.  It stars Sylvester Stallone but I haven't seen a release date for it.

Yeah...I read about that. He's done with Yellowstone. He probably lays out a some general themes for his writing team and that's about it. It's too bad...he seems to be spreading himself a little thin. I don't see Yellowstone having much a future now. I read that Kevin Costner wants out...he doesn't like spending so much time away from his family. Oh well...

I am sure this is a big part of why Beth is the way she is, but I don't think she's angry at John. She blames herself and feels unworthy of love and forgiveness and she thinks John is some kind of saint for forgiving her anyways. When really, what John should have done is reassured her that he did not blame her, that it wasn't her fault, and it was just an unforeseen tragedy that could have happened to anyone. And not to victim blame, but if Beth was so uncomfortable and nervous on a horse, perhaps it wasn't brilliant of Evelyn to force her to ride one and insist on going so far from the house in an area Beth didn't know and had to navigate while traumatized.

But otherwise, yes, I think you are right, sitting at that table is a constant reopening of the wound for Beth. Would be nice if she would just maturely ask if they could rearrange their dinner setup but John would probably balk.

They need family therapy...what a dysfunctional mess.

Taylor Sheridan wrote Wind River, which I thought was very good. It doesn't even seem like the same writer now.

I think this was a nice callback to a scene from either season 2 or 3 where Beth goes on a tirade, throws down her napkin, and flounces off, and Kayce and John kind of snicker and John says something like, has she ever made it through a full meal?

Beth has said before she hates sitting at the dinner table because it's too much of a reminder of all they've lost. And it's pretty in character for Beth that if she doesn't like something, she has to ruin it for everyone else as well.

     Her schtick is getting old.

She may have too much blue collar work ethic in her for that area.

  13. I'm going to weigh in on the problems with the show this season...

I think there has definitely been a downgrade in the quality of script writing and storylines this season. The main reason, IMO, is that Taylor Sheridan, the creator of Yellowstone, is no longer writing for Yellowstone. I'm not sure if he was ever the showrunner but apparently, he seems to have abandoned the show to write and produce 1883 and Mayor of Kingstown...two new shows that are advertised on Yellowstone and are being pushed heavily by Paramount+. Whenever a successful show has a talented writer/creator they always seem to abandon the show to work on other projects...and the result is usually a noticable drop in the quality of writing and mediocre storylines. Some shows that I have watched that suffered from this were Sons of Anarchy; the last season of Breaking Bad; Game of Thrones; Seinfeld (after Larry David left)...all of these shows had creators/head writers that left to write other new shows and left the writing to a team of writers. This is what I think has happened to Yellowstone this season...Taylor Sheridan is involved in so many new projects that he no longer has the time or interest to devote to Yellowstone so he farms out it to other writers.

It's bad enough that this show seems to be in freefall but even worse that Sheridan's other projects are shamelessly plugged ad nauseum on Yellowstone. I echo the feelings of others on this board that expressed disinterest in Jimmy and his boring job and ridiculous love life. I'm puzzled by Beth's behavior most of the time as she seems to have no soft side or vulnerability at all and for the most part is just a raging anger machine...where is this going? And what the hell was that at the dinner table? Why is she angry at her father...you know the guy that she says everything she does is for him? What is going on with these two? Is there some secret thing between them that is making her freak out at the dinner table almost everynight? Or is this just some leftover teenage rebellion...whatever it is, the writers need to dig a little deeper and explain all this especially now that Jamie is gone and no longer her target at the table.

It's easy to write cowboy scenes and sexual encounters for a character like Jimmy...a lot harder to write psychological daughter/daddy issues. Personally, I miss the scenes with Rainwater and the struggles of his people to keep a tight grip on their culture while trying to make money with casinos. I am dissappointed as well with this season and have stopped recommending to others. It's just not very good...I give it a couple of more seasons and then they'll end it...probably with John Dutton dying.

My first thought was for Lee, Jamie and Kayce, but then no, because there would be one for Evelyn as well. My second thought was for Kayce, Monica and Tate since they are all alive and could conceivably be there for dinner.

They have a lot of expensive dinnerware at the main house.  Ralph Lauren and Waterford crystal, Royal Copenhagen china. Beth's coffee mug from a few episodes ago alone retails for $166.

My guess is Gator sets the table. Maybe he doesn't know that they don't use the oyster fork or maybe John insists on a full place setting. Hard to say. I just want that biscuit recipe!

Also, the cowboy ranch themed dinnerware that they use is quite costly...I looked it up last year, forgot the name of it... was quite surprised at how expensive it is.

There is a reason that Heather came back on this show, and I don't think it is because she was bored.  Miss Terry's Botched TV show was not renewed for 2021.  Last year he and Heather were on ShopHQ so often I thought they bought the network. Maybe Miss Terry's practice has dropped off. I know some people are star struck but I would not go to any physician who goes on TV and allows cameras to film office visits and procedures. Someone has to pay for that mausoleum they call home.

I agree with everything said about Shannon. She just cannot get her act together. She looks awful and I believe it is because she is unhappy. Can't come to terms with how her life has turned out and menopause has hit her smack in the face. She is clinging to this TV gig because she needs the money now that she has blown though her divorce money on vanity projects like lemon tincture and high priced TV dinners .Her children are almost grown adults and she is longing for the days when she was skinny, married and the lady of Beador mansion.  She saw what happened to Vickie and Tamara and she doesn't want to be the next ex Real Housewife of the OC.

Spot on with everything you said. The Dubrows are shameless shills. Wouldn't surprise me that they are up to their eyeballs in serious financial woes. Between that hideous McMansion and any kind of business failures they could have some real problems thus their re-entry into this show. And I agree about Terry pimping out his practice for reality TV...I would never go to a doctor that would have you sign a waiver to be filmed or your medical problem to be discussed in a reality TV show. Is everyone in the OC this money hungry?

It's no wonder Shannon is in free fall...life for a post menopausal divorced woman in that place must be hell. You're not valued as a woman because you are not young and beautiful...being past 50 is a death sentence out there even if you get all the cosmetic work in the world, no one cares. You're invisible...you just don't exist.

After her kids finally graduate from high school she should move somewhere else where it isn't all about $$$ and expensive homes/cars etc.etc...what's keeping her there after the twins graduate? She could live quite comfortably somewhere else and actually enjoy life instead of always trying to keep up with the Jones's.

When Kim Kardashian was recently on SNL I was amazed that her ridiculously out-of-proportion body is considered something of a beauty standard these days.  There's nothing about her looks that appear to have any hint of natural beauty.  It seems we as a society are being sold this standard of what I would call "drag queen", over-the-top features as something to aspire to.  The obviously fake eyelashes, ridiculous facial contouring, neon hair with extensions, cinched waist and gargantuan butts are considered "beauty".  I don't get it.  But, I'm old, so there's that.

My daughter saw Kim Kardashian in an airport a few years ago and said her ass was so big it looked a pillow was stuffed into her pants. She said she's really short and her body proportions are out of sync with her height.

Granted I have a black heart but I am somewhat unmoved by Noella's situation as - at least from what we saw on the show - her devastation seems to be based on economic problems rather than the loss of a spouse with whom one had deep emotional ties.

Both Shannon and Gina - whatever one's feelings are towards them - did IMO suffer a huge emotional loss in terms of their spouses publicly humiliating them with mistresses and I feel they also felt they had to deal with the emotional loss of their marriage to someone they once loved and assumed they would grow old with - to the extent anyone makes those assumptions.

Now obviously someone who is hit with news of tax liens and having one's credit cards cut off is going to have a major trauma attached to that but in my opinion it seems with Noella that it might be more equivalent to being fired from a job and losing one's salary. Gina suffered a loss of income/lifestyle and Shannon also to a lesser extent but I never got the sense that their mourning the death of their respective marriages was based solely or even primarily on loss of money.

Call me cynical but Noella had been married for only a year and her son was two years old. While many couples don't have separate accounts it should have been immediately odd to Noella that she didn't have access to bank accounts and she didn't have her own credit cards. To me that seems to be an indication that the marriage was an economic transaction between a gold digger and a man who wanted a trophy wife rather than a true partnership.

On an even more shallow note, all of the housewives besides Gina and Noella need to objectively look at their faces and realize they look deformed and not youthful. Jen is perhaps on the verge of doing it but at this point not quite over the edge in terms of fillers but my god - Shannon and Nicole look deformed. Emily has gone from a relatively fresh faced natural beauty to someone who looks over filled and over done. And enough has been said about Heather the Grinch as she moves into Joceyn Wildenstein territory

I just don't understand the aesthetic of this plastic surgery and why bloated faces and malformed lips are actually something women are paying to achieve. Is it like living in a house of horrors where you feel you look normal because everyone else you see is deformed?

Thank you for bringing the cosmetic surgery/procedures up about these women...especially Emily. She has gone too far IMO...between the fillers,etc...and the thick make up, eyelashes and hair extensions, she looks more like a drag queen these days.

I have never watched Botched, but when someone posted that it has not been renewed, it made perfect sense that this is now the vehicle for the Dubrows to continue to feed their narcissism. I came across an article where Heather said that her oldest kids will be on the show quite a bit, and that all of the kids are used to having cameras in the house because they are always filming something or other. Apparently Heather's oldest daughter has a podcast? Seems like the kids are following in their fame whore parents' footsteps.  🤮

There are a third of the number of posts for this episode than there were for the first one, so I wonder if that is any indication of how many viewers have already tuned out? I am very close as I do not find any of it entertaining. What. So. Ever. Dr Jen is a bore, and I have no interest in yet another divorce storyline for a newbie that I have no interest in.

I must admit though that the scene of Heather reading her obnoxious text to Terry while he tries to get a word in, was pretty funny. The text, not so much. Hard to imagine that Heather has become even more full of herself. She is a failed actress who married for money. I have no reason not to believe that the Dubrows' house of cards will not come tumbling down, like so many others have. Heather's tag line is pretty funny too. Personally, in order for me to reach Heather's level, I would need a shovel, not a ladder.

Well said! Heather is holier than thou...does she ever say or do anything wrong? She's very judgemental of other people yet seems to never admit to having any faults of her own. Her text was a case study in narcissism...good lord that was awful. If I was Shannon I would have just answered her back with "WTF?"
