  1. I concur! And yeah, I'm in Los Angeles and all, but I don't think it's all that weird or odd to applaud at the end of a movie. Come on people- ♫ if you're happy and you know it ♫ ... what do you do???? Case closed. I just think that it shows you that when a movie is very good, it touches you like a live performance. At least it's genuine instead of going to some sports events that annoyingly prod you to clap for much stupider things.
  2. Happy Galentine's Day to the Chili's crowd! Waffles for everyone! (not snowballs)
  3. Yeah, not so sure about that ... Jetes pregnancy update ETA: It just dawned on me that I clicked and read a story about Jeter. Not even baseball related. I need to go lie down, clear the cache and get my head examined.
  4. I didn't know he once played in the minors for the Tigers.
  5. Random thought of the day: If I change my name from King (Last Name) to King Sriracha, then it's acceptable to tell people I'm "The hot guy" - right? So if I go into Starbucks and order they'd write it on my cup o'Joe. Sure, my parents may be disappointed but the hilarity... would last forever. Stay tuned for more provocative thoughts of the day.
  6. I concur. (I saw him when he was in AA with Portland, playing the [then] New Britain Rockcats.)
  7. Thought about it long and hard, I guess? Wow that must've been hard to do. You put this matter to bed, huh? Did it yourself, or did you put two men on it? So you clicked on the blog and - up went the toolbar - and it was all straight after that? Well, as long as you got it out of your nook of things to do.
  8. It must be the "unfavorable" one, right? Were the IMDB boards some of the group who down-voted the newer, women-lead Ghostbusters, before seeing the movie? Not that you did that CQUEN82. BTW until you posted here, I didn't know it was shutting down. Not sure if you found or perused this yet, but here is the movie forum here on PTV. By the way, LL, I figure the 'scrubbing' of your blog ... uh, does this mean you scrubbed comments? Like, MY comments? I'd be upset but I do understand that some random person claiming to be "Bob" should not interfere on undermining your teaching career.
  9. The Colosseum is one of the worst places in the world to see a game, and the dugouts flood regularly. It'd be faaaantastic if Rickey rejected the naming. ETA Yeah... no ball caps accounted for. What's the dealio? Also, so many teams, so many truck days. Hm, I wonder what's longest... Minny to Ft Myers? Seattle to Phoenix? ETA again... I started looking it up. Toronto to Dunedin is over 2100 miles, and Minneapolis to Ft Myers is 1700+. Then, the other drive... Cleveland to Phoenix is approx 2015 miles. Cincinnati - Milwaukee - Chicago to AZ is all over a 1700-1800 plus mile drive.
  10. Ya know I saw the NFL SuperBowl chat thread and our good friend @mojoween was having a tough day yesterday. I hope she's recovering, feeling better. After all - it's TRUCK DAY! (I was gonna link the twitter feed for Truck day, but those pesty Bostonians are mentioning the SB a bunch in the tweets and - I'm trying on keeping the baseball thread a safe zone for all.) PS- The Nat's had their truck day on January 30? And I thought the Sox truck was early...
  11. Well, you gotta look out for those dingos!
  12. I see a trend. @sacrebleu forgets her keys and gets locked out, but her sister is nearby to bail her out. @Glory's dog gets skunked, and her sister is nearby to bail her out. I'm thousands of miles away from my sisters btw. I forget if it was here or TWOP that I lamented about this - but hey! Instead of me having to figure out where the Girl Scout cookies are... they came to MY DOOR! Yay for girl scout cookies! I didn't really load up since I'm looking to maintain my stocky 50 yr old figure, but it's all good.

    Lion (2016)

Lion is a story in two parts; the young leads Saboo and Guddu, brothers living in India ... and then the train station, and Saboo getting lost on the train and surviving in Calcutta, and then eventual adoption and acclimation to the Tasmanian family. Time skips 20 years where Saboo is Dev Patel, college aged and discovering Google Earth. Trying to be vague and just touch on structure... once you meet Sunny Pawar, he owns it as Young Saboo and that kid is the lead.
  14. I wanna go to the movies with you, MsNewsradio! You keep on kickin' ass, okay? Plus... that toilet line is perplexing.
  15. See, you learn something every day! I never heard of a Biocide bomb, just looked it up. I may have to do this too - not due to skunk but just general dog smells. (As the Beast snoozes at my feet...)
  16. I'm very sorry to do this Aim, but ... I'm gonna have to shun you.
  17. Dammit people, get off your butts and make America great again! http://previously.tv/television/the-neighborhood-trolley-vs-all-the-bacon-and-eggs/
  18. Well, I think Aaron Boone is just "Aaron Who the fuck was he? Boone" because that gut-punch was obliterated in less than a year with 2004 and all it's goodness. Plus, by that point, we knew Tim Wakefield should never have been in that spot in the 11th inning of a game 7, and it's why Grady Little should never have managed again. (Yeah I know he did but old white guy "baseball lifers" get more second chances than anyone.) DXD526 mentioned this, but I hadn't heard this news about Anthony Young. Sorry to hear.
  19. Wait hold on there @Glory. "Promptly got skunked"? You're not telling the fun part of the story. Skunked on a walk? or do you have skunks in the backyard? How did the dog get hit and not you or Guts? Did you keep Lexi outside, as they suggest, and wash her down? NO tomato juice!
  20. Just wanted to let @Kalliste know that, your record-setting January is all a scam and also a hoax by the Chinese. Okay? So don't tell us all about your "hot nights" in Oz. We're onto you. Look north to your Asian neighbors, it's cold and wintery here so it's not global warming.
  21. Of course it was you big goof. Also, watching the Jetes3k Yankeeography in January? You depressed there slugger? You need to enjoy beautiful Cape Cod for what it is. You think I can't enjoy New York City for the good and bad parts?
  22. I shall think about 4x4 rows of tv monitors and that it's been 35 years since... "And now you find yourself in '82, the disco hot-spots hold no charm for you..."
  23. LOLsiees. As for the phone counter in your purse, I like the story my friend Sara told me : She met up with college friends at some mixer and then some band played and her classmates- all late 40s/ early 50s- hit the dance floor with their fitbits on their wrist. They weren't moving their legs too much, but- shaking the groove thang means lots of arm motion, and she got home with THOUSANDS more "steps" than before. Yet, it is sad that 9.5 miles ONLY equals 788 calories. You can't even burn off your portion of a Chili's Blooming Onion, yet alone baby back ribs... after almost TEN MILES of slogging? God is cruel.
