  1. Abel of the Corn

This is seriously the funniest thing because that kid freaks me the hell out.   No way would a 4 year old have asked Gemma "do you?"  I think it would have been more realistic to have him answer "Like when Mommy died."  Anyway . . .

The scariest thing in the episode was Courtney Love's face.  Shit, if my teacher looked like that, I'd probably smack a kid with a metal lunchbox too.  Maybe Wendy needs to get the kid a soft thermal instead.

I did think the music this episode was awesome but otherwise . . . as others have said, a snoozefest.  Jax continues to be a moron (but with sparkling white Sneakers of Truth) and the club deserves to go down if they continue to follow him blindly.

Nero needs to pack up his cardigans and GTFO of Charming.  But he won't . . . because he's so mesmerized by Gemma's Cooch of Death.

Juice . . . I ff'd through his roach scene because I was afraid he was going to eat the bug.

I generally love Annabeth Gish - - have been a fan since Mystic Pizza - - but her Sheriff is absolutely worthless.

Unser is playing Scrabble . . and?

I am getting to where I just don't care anymore, although I will hang in until the bitter end.

  2. Is it possible that Tori had that portable toilet from when she was pregnant with Finn and after delivering him?  I could understand that, since she was on bed rest and then had problems afterward but there is certainly no reason to keep it now.

I loathe to defend Dean but I do agree that Tori was in the wrong the way she jumped all over him last week when he tried to console her over Mystery Girls.  She can't continue to punish him indefinitely (or she shouldn't).

I wanted to jump through my tv and bitchslap Dr. Wexler.  Don't tell Tori that she should apologize to Charlie when you enabled her by telling Charlie their marriage was over in your office.

I am just stymied that Tori has been in therapy for 20 or so odd years and she still has so many issues.  She clearly needs a therapist who isn't being her friend and someone that will call her out on her b.s.  By the signs of the storage unit, she has some very deep seated issues that have nothing to do with Dean and his straying.  She also appears to have serious self-esteem issues that I would guess she has suffered with for years.

It's sad that the only time Tori seemed relatively healthy to me was when she was filming her So NoTORIous show, which I believe is when she was dating Charlie.  He probably was very good to her and for her and she ruiined that for someone as equally damaged and dysfunctional as she was/is.

  3. I am finishing up the audio version of Rob Lowe's Stories I Only Tell My Friends.  I thought it would be a mindless, maybe even stupid, listen on a road trip this past weekend.  Was I ever wrong - - the book itself is very well written, RL pulls no punches but doesn't throw people under the bus, and he is an unbelievably fantastic narrator.  HIs impersonations are wonderful.   I was neither a fan nor opposed to him prior to this listen but now I would definitely say I am a fan.

I will definitely be picking up his second book.

  4. Lord of the Flies and 1984 . . . I thought both were excessively overrated.  I had to read both for high school and I think that's why I strayed from the classics for a while.

I remember reading I Never Promised You a Rose Garden in high school and it made my brain hurt.  I am stymied that it's considered a classic.

  5. I thought this was a good episode and did not see the judge's decision coming.  Very, very disappointing.

Agree with the other posters who said it would have made more sense if the case became a "he said/she said" as a lot of rape cases are.   Clearly the guy who took the stand was a cocky little shit and I could see him lying about what really went down versus admitting that they never had Evie's consent or believed they were filming a video.

I did love seeing Barba riled and Carisi has grown on me.

  6. I don't think they dragged the canvas back in because the inktestant was female.  I think they did it to amp up the drama and because the inktestant told the canvas to fuck off.

Was it necessary to bring him back?  No, not really since the judges had already watched film of the interaction.

I do think that if the canvases sign up for a free tattoo during biomech (or whatever) week, they should be told that is the exact type of tattoo they are getting.  Period.  If the judges aren't going to use how the inktestants handle their clients as part of the criteria for being Ink Master, then there is no point in production sending in difficult people to attempt to rile up the inktestants.

Personally I couldn't care less about the drama.  I just want to see the tattoos and I wish everyone would be judged on that and they would do away with the rival nonsense, the canvases that quit in a huff, etc.

  7. I personally think it's some straight up bullshit that Julia wasn't sent home.  Telling your canvas to fuck off should eliminate the artist immediately.  I didn't see Julia's canvas being any more difficult than some others we have seen in the past.

I thought for sure she was toast when she was told by the judges they had watched every minute of her interaction with her canvas and what he said jived but what she said was purely revisionist crap.

Major props to Don for telling Julia she's not the only one in the competition under stress and pressure.  That's not being a dick, Julia, that's showing that you aren't the only one with issues.

Must every artist at some point say "The other artists don't know what I can do!"  Gee, I don't know . . . why don't you show everyone what you can do?

  8. Good Lord, I think too much about this mess but reading some earlier comments about the barf bag made me think about how they showed a pic of it last night.  Both of them sounded like delusional teenagers, not over 30 adults who were both married to other people.

Did these two ever have a conversation about whether or not they wanted to destroy two marriages and families?  Did they ever have a serious conversation about what their lives together would be like?  Not "opening a bar on the beach" or "making love every day" crap or even having a million babies but real conversations about where they would live, how they would live, if one or both would keep working, how Deano's son Jack fit into this, about the baby he was supposed to be adopting with Mary Jo, etc.  Or how about returning to LA and taking time away from each other to be sure what they were doing?  It seems zero real thought went into their actions.

What I wouldn't give to have that shrink tell the both of them that Dean clearly married Tori for her name and (supposed) money and connections and Tori chose Dean because she couldn't handle having a nice guy like Charlie and was drawn to a jerk with an addiction who would ultimately cheat.

  9. I am sad and pathetic enough to remember that Deano Googled the pic for Tori.  So apparently he didn't have it on his phone.  But still doesn't answer who she was and why they were texting.

Irrelevant I guess when they need to have sex 16 days in a row and Dean has Smores to make.

  10. She's back in the hospital & was quarantined (did they think she had ebola?) where I guess Dean is spoon feeding her again. They're saying it's for bronchitis & a sinus infection, but do they keep you hospitalized for that?

I had bronchitis and pneumonia at the same time once and was not hospitalized.  Certainly not quarantined.

Seeing how skinny she was last night, I think Dangerous Minds nailed it with anorexia.

  11. Is it just me, or has Liam gotten a bit husky?  He was sporting a double chin last night.

Oh good, I thought I was the only one going to hell in a handbasket for thinking this.  He has definitely put on some weight in the last six months (while Tori continues to lose it).  I'm sure the stress in that household is not helping at all.

I have a niece just a little older than Finn who attends preschool for a few hours in the afternoon, a few days a  week. She loves it. Other kids to play with, toys,  routine, feeling accomplished about her learning skills etc.

Exactly what I was thinking.  Finn is young but I went to preschool when I was 3 and it was more about socializing and being around other kids the same age.  And it was only mornings.

Honestly in terms of "personal brand" she would have been better off divorcing Dean, Everyone would have rallied around her. People would have at least been curious. This "taking back a cheating husband," thing is really hard to sell. Most people wouldn't.

Girl, you read my mind.  I understand why she let her businesses go, although if she is the main breadwinner for her family it is irresponsible.  She certainly could have jumpstarted her businesses by dumping Dean, polishing herself off and rebranding herself as a single parent.

Cheers to the poster who caught Tori's face when her friend called her on cheating/being a cheater herself. There's really nothing you can say when someone has called you out to that degree, when you are that hypocritical.

Tori has said for years that she worried that she would lose Dean the same way she got him.  I don't think it was a huge surprise but I do think she expects for her friends to understand why she and Dean cheated on their respective spouses to be together.  I don't think she realizes that cheating is cheating and it's all pretty much the same.

I will say that I was absolutely floored when she admitted during the pre-show thing that she and Dean moved in together immediately, got pregnant immediately, then weren't pregnant and then immediately began trying again.  These two barely knew each other and seemed gung ho on procreating together so that was a recipe for disaster from the very beginning.  The only thing more galling was that after that, and after how Dean clearly acted like a spoiled child who couldn't get his way after she got pregnant with Liam, was that she had THREE MORE children with him.

And to go on and on about how Emily was just blah and average to her.

Speaking as someone who was cheated on by her (now ex) husband,  I can say that no matter what the other woman looks like, you're probably going to think she's ugly because of what she's done with your partner.

Consider Tori - - clearly not the most emotionally mature person.  Dean had told her that she had no reason to worry about the woman he was texting with because he showed her a picture and reinforced her belief that because the texting woman wasn't super attractive in either of their opinions, she had nothing to worry about.  I'm amazed that Tori (and her quack doctor) weren't asking more questions about WHO exactly this woman was/is and why Dean was texting with her.  Was she a former coworker?  Mutual friend?  Another parent at school?

The unanswered questions in this thing drive me nuts.

  12. So, did we need to know that Dean enjoyed watching Tori so much on 90210 that it helped him with the activities "that men do"?  That is just gross.  She is your wife now, and that is not sexy or romantic to talk about.  He is not only disrespectful to their relationship, but to the viewers because believe me we didn't need to know that.

I hated re-hearing about how they were intimate right away as if it was no big deal, and I hated that Dean went to that movie knowing he wanted to kiss Tori while he had a wife and child at home.  I especially hate how easily they talk about all of this as if it is no big deal, and that their other marriage partners didn't matter.

I appreciated that they finally admitted their troubles they had earlier in the marriage...it was obvious in that one season with the motorcycle but they always denied trouble.

I don't believe for a moment that Dean watched 90210.  He was out of the age bracket for it and even if he did, he said he was doing activities that teen boys do - - he wasn't a teen any longer when the show premiered.  So BS.   He was interested in Tori because she's a Spelling, plain and simple.

Funny how they acted like it was no big deal to cheat on their respective spouses but boy, it sure is a big deal now!

  13. So Jax and company manage to escape many a gunfight with nary a scratch and yet some two-bit hookers get the jump on them?  Shit, they need to sign those hookers up for the club.

"Abel's acting weird" = just another average day in Charming.  Seriously, when hasn't Abel acted weird?  Put that kid in a clown suit and I'll shit my pants.

Gemma, if you're going to confess to jabbing a fork into your daughter in law's melon multiple times, it's best to make sure the door is closed.  Especially when you think your son's cronies are waiting just outside to drag you away and off you.

Happy and Rat telling Jax they were scared of Gemma was hilarious.  She's frightening, sure, and she's a complete nutbag at this point but I really think they should be considered getting the hell away from the future serial killer that Jax spawned.

Unser believing Jax' "I give you my word."  HA HA HA!!  Clearly the cancer packed up and moved to his brain.

The fact that Bobby was driving by himself and did not notice the caravan of suspicious vehicles behind him and the black SUV with tinted out windows that drove past him took me out of the moment.  Shouldn't every member of the MC assume that EVERYONE is out to harm them at this point?  A caravan of suspicious vehicles should be like Jax taking off his cut and putting on gloves - - shit's about to get real.

I was happy that the Sheriff wasn't present last night.

I think everybody's going to die in this mess.

  14. Lovecat, I found Columbine to be a very fast read because it was that engrossing and I couldn't put it down.   According to Amazon, it clocks in at 442 pages so definitely shorter than And the Band Played On.

    Re: Ebola.  So true.

  15. This is exactly how I feel.  I hear people talk about being conflicted, like Nick and Amy were equal in their awfulness, but I don't think it was close, and I did not feel conflicted for one second.  I enjoyed the book, but I don't think it's as brilliant as people say it is.

    I am not conflicted either.

Amy was hundreds of times worse than Nick.  The worst thing Nick did, IMO,

was cheat.  There is no doubt in my mind that he was going to leave her

after the dust settled.  He set a trap for her to come back, not because he

was so into her and the game playing, but because he wanted to clear his name

and make sure he didn't go to prison, which is what she was hoping for.  I

felt sorry for him and absolutely hated her at the end.

  16. That was both random and stupid. I never got the sense that she still loved him. He shot her up AND THEY JUST PUT HIS SECOND WIFE IN THE GROUND. Like, this is not a position to (re)aspire to. Jesus.

Out of everything in this episode - - because random pointless killing is just another day for SAMCRO and Gemma will clearly outlive freaking anything - - this is what pissed me off most about this episode.

Other than the first season, Wendy never struck me as stupid.  So no way in hell would she EVER still love Jax in any way, shape or form outside of some benign "love" because he's Abel's father.  Seriously?  First Tara and now Wendy?  Does Jax have an amazing technicolor penis to go with his White Sneakers of Truth ?  Because I don't get it.

Wendy should just take Thomas and the candidate for Future Serial Killers of America and get the hell outta Dodge.  Not like Jax would even notice - - he's too busy shuffling all over Stockton and shooting people for kicks.

Speaking of - - the guy with the Impala who took out some of the Grim Bastards . . . how long has that car been parked out on that street?  It took THAT long to find it?  Shaggy and Scooby could have sniffed it out faster.
