  1. I can't decide how I feel about this. On one hand I'm excited because I love the books, and the cast is looking good.

On the other hand, it airing on ABC Family doesn't fill me with much hope (and it means it probably won't be aired on UK channels, as ABC Family shows don't do well over here). Then again, at least it might not get cancelled so quickly (RIP Constatine)

  2. Phew, Thanks for the link. I got worried last night.

Just been watching the old 'To Hell and Back' videos on youtube and the cast seem to be having a lot of fun, and I'm streaming the show on the NBC website using Hola

I hope it was all enough to get renewed

  3. Benedict Cumberbatch is not, technically, "attractive."  If you see him in Sherlock you will (probably) see that he's appealing but generally speaking, no he's not attractive.

And yes (after confirming with IMDb that it wasn't a figment of imagination or trick of memory) there was an Ewok cartoon that lasted for one or two seasons.  Here's the opening.

    We are the E-E-E-E-Eeeewoks!

I didn't actually see the Star Wars movies till last year of so, but I remember watching and loving the Ewoks cartoon when I was a kid

  4. I love Season 6 and agree that it's really rewatchable. We may be the only two viewers to feel that way :) I'm with you on loving S4 also---it's probably my favorite.

I'd have loved a whole SERIES with Prue and Paige (though you know I do hold the very unpopular opinion of loving Phoebe as well.) I don't dislike Piper, but she's generally the sister I love least and find the least interesting, which judging from various sites is pretty much as unpopular as our love for Chris/Season 6!

I feel like I found my people.

Wow, I didn't know that liking Chris was an unpopular opinion. I liked Chris and Season 6.

Phoebe is my favourite sister and I've never been a fan of Piper. I liked her a more when Prue was around, but she's always been my least favourite sister. Season 4 is my favourite season

  5. Mind Games starring Steve Zahn and Christian Slater. I thought the trailers looked awful and too goofy, but I liked both of the leads so I decided to watch and it was actually a lot better than expected (I'm only up to episode 3 so there's a chance that everything could go downhill).

Steve Zahn is really good in this, I much prefer him in this sort of thing than wacky comedies

  6. Now that the show's finally been shown in the UK (thank you Amazon Prime), I've finally seen how amazing this show is.

My favourite scene from this episode (and from the show so far) was the scene with Frank and Claire at Craigh na Dun separated through time and calling to each other, the build up of the scene, with the music (Bear McCreary is amazing) was just great

  7. Heh, I was happy for Rachel to graduate off to New York, made it so much easier to fast forward through her scenes, with her being away from characters I actually liked.. until Santana moved in.

I sort of wish they'd saved Don't Stop Believing for the finale though, as much as I loved it in Season 5

  8. If they're related its very distant, since Elaine is Irish and Katie is American (or Canadian?).

Loving all this Harper's Island reminiscing! I was totally into the show and I thought it was actually pretty good. Not good good but it was, for the most part, a pretty satisfying horror thriller show, and how often do you get shows in that genre that are worth a damn? It was WAY better than The Following, for example, if I'm gonna compare it to something.

This is the only thing I've seen Katie Cassidy in and I thought she was very good and likeable. When I see posts off the "Katie Cassidy is so bad!" variety I always think it must be the scripts or directing she's given on these other shows. And I've ben a fan of Elaine Cassidy since Felicia's Journey. Two other characters that were great were Cal and Chloe who also managed to subvert expectations and tropes you'd think the writers would put them through. One scene in particular gave me goosebumps and I choked up, and that doesn't happen a lot.

Then of course there was plenty of cheese in the show too and plot holes and annoying characters like in most other shows (I'm looking at you, Madison) but all in all it was a great ride if you just went with it and didn't pick it apart.

You should check it out, Cobalt! I know it's downloadable and streamable. This got me jonesing for a rewatch.

I loved Harper's Island in all it's cheesiness. Cal and Chloe were my favourites, and I really liked Katie Cassidy as Trish.

  9. This is sort of related but it's something that occurred to me the other day. Apart from when the girls do the Spice Girls and Diamonds Are a Girls Best Friend, does Marley ever perform in the choir room. I've been wracking my brain trying to think of one and I can't.

I think she sang Everytime in the choir room, back in 4x02

  10. I've been a Jenna/Tina fan since the beginning and I always wanting her to sing with other people. "3" and "What A Feeling" are two of my favourites.

I wish she and Mark had sang together outside of a couple of lines on "Do They Know It's Christmas". They sounded great (along with Darren and Kevin) in this performace of "Smile" for Trevor Live

  11. I'm currently reading The Circle the first book of The Engelsfors Trilogy in anticipation for the English version of the third book which is released this week.

The series is about a group of girls discovering they are 'Chosen Ones'/witches and are fated to fight an ancient evil which is hunting them.

I'll assume the book is better, because this film was...lacking.  A lot.  Which is saying something, given that it was WELL over two hours long. Theo James, who really didn't have much to do, was not shirtless enough to overcome it.  Kind of a waste.  I appreciate the close-ups, though.  A man with nice lips is hard to resist.  I need to watch him in something with his native accent plus said close-ups, possibly shirtless.  My, my, my!

Theo James was a lead in a show called Bedlam, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1822448/?ref_=nv_sr_1 all about ghosts,  and from what I remember, there were shirtless scenes
