  1. I actually liked this episode a lot more than the last one. I thought Dominic and Kat had some chemistry, and I thought Kat's acting was much improved over the last couple.

Emeraude Toubia as Izzy was terrible in that graveyard scene, there was one line reading in particular that was absolutely awful - "you just can't let up can you". I thought she was better in the scenes with Meliorn

  2. I liked it, a lot more than I was expecting to actually. I'm a fan of the books, and I actually liked the movie.

In the 30 seconds we saw of him Harry Shum Jr's way better than Godfrey Gao, and I did love him in Pandemonium.

I liked Jace, Izzy and Alec and the scenes with them together, and the demons looked better than I was expecting.

I'm still not sold on Kat McNamara, though she's better than the previews suggested.

I know we saw Cressida again after the war ended, I want to say right before Katniss walked out to Snow's execution, but I can't remember the details.

I think she and her camera crew were around to film Snow's execution

HoodlumSheep, I feel your pain. If you're one of 5 people who still like Tony best, I think I'm one of 2 who love Hawkeye. I like both Tony and Steve a lot too, for the record.

I know the feeling about being in the minority about Hawkeye, he's my favourite, along with Thor and the Maximoff twins. I also have no interest in Steve or Bucky - which leaves me in a tiny fandom corner of my own.

I will be mostly be watching this for Clint and Wanda, however much they're in it, as well as Natasha and Falcon

  5. So I saw it earlier and I really liked it, some random thoughts:

Finnick was badass in the sewers with his trident, that first shot of the mutts was pretty freaky

It was also nice to Enobaria again briefly, though I'm sure most people won't remember who she is. I liked that scene with the victors, though a random nitpicky thing - I wish they'd added a line from the book in either this film or the last about all previous victors being rounded up and arrested/executed, because it seemed odd to only have the seven surviving victors without any mention of the others. I know it was mentioned in passing in the books, but it just a nitpicky thing I noticed

Johanna stealing Katniss' morphine made me think of this forum, because I remember it being mentioned in this thread a few times

It nice was to see Gwendoline Christie and Robert Knepper (again) pop up for about 60 seconds of screentime.

  6. Hope it's okay to double post, I've just finished the season, and have to agree with everything Katway said. (I tried to quote the post, but the spoiler tags kept failing)

The dragon creature climax was awful. I thought the Season would be Peter, Roman and Destiny tracking down Nadia and Miranda and saving her. That climax lasted about two minutes.

I'm glad Peter came back to life/didn't die (yay for werewolf healing), but overall that finale wasn't great. I did like seeing Destiny again
    - her spirit anyway.

I was getting worried for Shelley, but I'm glad she made it outalive.

    What a disappointing season!

  7. Just watched Episode 7 and I'm not happy.

Why kill Destiny for no reason? Especially after giving her nothing to do all season. What was the point, just because it's 'edgy' to kill people in the final season? Why is Andreas suddenly a bad guy this season? Why are Roman and Peter still barely sharing scenes? The Peter/Destiny relationship was always one of my highlights of the earlier seasons, why ruin it? Why has Peter barely had a storyline this season?

Though I'm glad Shelley seems to be happy - the one good part of the season

I liked the first 2 seasons, it wasn't a great show, but it was enjoyable, mainly because of the characters and their interactions, but this season is lacking

I would like to point out that, yet again, I saw TM was going to be on something with an OB cast member and I thought "Oh, cool. They don't get to work together that much." I always associate her with Sarah and forget she plays all the other clones.

Haha, I do exactly the same thing

  9. First trailer and 2 clips from the show.

Can't say I'm too impressed so far, which sucks 'cause I really want to like it. It all seems very cheap and not well acted. Harry Shum Jr as Magnus seems to be the best so far. (The two guys as Circle members in the second clip are absolutely terrible). Matthew Daddario (Alec) and Emeraude Toubia (Isabelle) look the part in motion. Dominic Sherwood is growing on me the more times I watch

ETA: Okay, the more I watch, the more I like. Maybe it's lowered expectations or something. I liked the fight scene in Pandemonium apart from the random sparkles/pixels for blood, though what was up with Isabelle's random dance? - it reminded me of Sucker Punch. Also, one of Izzy's hits was way off the guy's face

  10. Life Unexpected - It's an older show now (from 2010) and I'm watching it on for the first time on Netlfix, and I like most of the cast (Shiri Appleby (who I used to hate, but who has won my over after Unreal), Britt Robertson, Ksenia Solo, Kerr Smith), I want to like it, but I can't stand Baze, and the more I watch, the more off-putting he becomes, and it drags down my enjoyment. I'm quitting at episode 8 (the one with the car)

If there's anyone out there who watched the whole show, please tell me that Cate and Baze didn't end up together!

ETA: And I've just read that Emma Caulfield and Landon Liboiron are in Season 2. Luckily Season 2 isn't on Netflix or they might have sucked me back in

  11. Not to induce said screaming, but why are concessions so expensive? Is that the primary way movie theaters generate profit now? I rarely buy concessions - I eat/drink before or after the film.  If I eat on site, it's because of in-theater dining.  If I'm paying a huge mark-up to eat, might as well have an actual meal in a super-comfy recliner.

I work in a cinema, and the concessions are how we get most of our money. The studios take up to 75% / 80% of the money made from ticket sales.

  12. If there's anyone on here in the UK, episode 3x01 is available to watch already on Sky Catch Up, a week before the official UK premiere.

ETA: Just noticed that it isn't airing till tonight in the US!  How did we, in the UK get it first?

  13. I'm pretty excited. I mean, I even loved the movie despite what a mess it was. I can't wait to see this done as a series.

I loved the movie too, I didn't think it was as bad as everyone made out, questionable acting aside (Godfrey Gao sounds like he's reading of cue cards, and Jamie didn't really have the sarcasm needed as Jace). Though I admit, I started laughing at Valentine's entrance when I saw what they'd done to his hair

I loved Lily Collins as Clary, and the big kiss between Jace and Clary in the greenhouse was great (as well as the use of Demi's 'Heart By Heart'.)

  14. Captain America, the Winter Solider.

I liked Black Widow in it, and thought Sam was fun, but I just thought it was kind of boring overall. I am not a huge Steve fan, and saw like a LOT of fawning over Bucky before the movie. I just didn't get it. Also, for all the hype that Marvel movies get for being fun compared to dark DC movies, TWS was pretty bleak.

Yes this! This is exactly how I felt about the movie and the characters

  15. About that scene, I'm spoiler tagging just in case:

I think they're about 12, and that scene happens after they sort of (but not really) defeat the creature when they're kids. Defeating the creature, they can feel themselves forgetting/slipping away from each other, so they all have sex with Beverley as way of connection.

From TV Tropes: 'In the novel, the gang, drained of energy after their first encounter with It in Its lair in the sewers, re-power themselves by losing their virginity with Bev. Is it emotionally significant to the story? Yes, but it's still a bunch of children having sex one after the other in a sewer'

It lasts about 5 1/2 pages, but only her encounters with 2 of the boys are described
