S33.E01: We’re Back!/S33.E02: It Can’t Be That Easy
IvyCeltress replied to Whimsy's topic in The Amazing Race
Lula and Lala what were their parents thinking? I hope they go soon. I actually thought they said Boris Yeltsin and thought it would be hard. Finally heard Johnson and thought it would be too easy unless there were a bunch of tables with Queen look alike with various world leaders. I think the mail task would have been better is they put up a postal code In the tunnel and they have to see it then find mail with that code. -
This is me speculating but I think she had the same procedure my Mom did. Mom's eyelids were sagging so it effected her vision so the Drs did a lift. It also made her eyes looks really big like Karen's do now.

I'm seeing promos that season 5 starts on June 8th.
-
I was sorry to here about Steff. She was so badass was I was looking forward to seeing her grow in skills like Tad and Austin had.

I know federal government and a lot of companies if they are paying to relocate you will fly you out for a couple of days sometimes over the weekend where you are expected view houses and get things rolling for a new home . If you want more time than that it's your dime. They will also only pay for one move, they won't cover the cost of you relocating and putting your stuff in storage until you find the a place you really like.

I would have put the dog picture on the cabinet door with the dog stuff. I would have taken the large house and divided the large room into a small dining room and maybe a study.

Regarding the Moldovan husband. I have vague recollection of a Victoria th that she opened a boutique in Moldova and inferred either directly or indirectly that her husband handled the business end of things. Why I remember that I don't know.

Noooooo!

For me tie dye has never gone out of style. My favorites are Nancy, even though she was a bit annoying, Geoffrey, and Marquise.
-
For Fashion Week, do they need to have only female models? If Marquise makes it, I would love to have last night's model as a muse. When I saw him do his walk, I was imagining him as visiting royalty on something like Game of Thrones even though it's no longer on air. I have mixed feelings on Nancy, I want to cheer her on and have liked some of her stuff but she also seem lacking in self awareness of something like noisily crashing ornaments or do opting Tyler tonight. II also am mixed on Devlin. I've found him nice, snarky introverts in previous episode. Maybe this week was showing how the competition is wearing on him. I like green but hated the outfit. I probably would have tried a morning suit with tails in green over narrow black pants.

I bought the season on Amazon Prime and they just put up two new episodes-On a Mediterranean house in Eagle totally gorgeous and a gingerbread house at the North End.

Definitely classy exit. You will be missed. Devin might have been safe if he had done the dressmakers marks on the entire corset and maybe an elaborate ballgown skirt. Sergio no words. Don't those fancy machines do embroidery? The odds the Christian would save him are nil unless production leans on him.

I was happy that did a double elimination. I assume serape guy isn't going to last long. If I had the bod I'd go for the bronze jumpsuit.

Interested so the house's initial value was 750,000 and they were given 175,000 so that total is 925,000, therefore LeAnn only added 65,000. Wow. It will interesting to see what all the houses actually go for. I also wish they would have discussed on camera about some of the difficulty of maintaining some of the wow items as well as some of the shoddy workman. I am disappointed for Mina. I think she added value but gave buyers a lot of flexibilty to integrate their own stuff. I was surprised though on how uneven the extra help. Karen is her partner while the others were more unskilled-semi skilled labor.

The guest judges said the next session would be for curb appeal, the rest of the house and touch up. Does that mean they can make changes in the previously decorated rooms? I also wonder if they were given specific restrictions. I think there are two bedrooms and two bathrooms left. However there is also the laundry room and garage. I'm making a wild guess that without prompting Mina and possibly Jasmine would include storage, organizations and maybe a folding table but the other two .wouldn't since can only show off in their houses not live in it. For next week, I am assuming, unless they do an hour and half, that the first 3/4 of the show will be the final room competition and the last 15 would be the overall winner.

I wonder is the Chicago pieces came out Allyson's budget. Isn't that cheating? Even though the black wall wasn't in direct line of the Windows wouldn't the black soak up the heat? I love green walls but a faux green wall, ugh. For Leanne the honking lamp and the the fire pit vent got in way of the view. And a yard of pea travel doesn't sound good on the feet. And removing baseboards. I liked most of Jasmine but the wall of logs seemed to be a waste of money. I'm surprised they got the pool in but it didn't look like it was much more for babys splashing. Also aren't there strict fencing requirements when you have a pool so kids don't sneak in and drown?I loved the ceiling and the outdoor bar. I liked Mina's the best but understood the judges thought about having a focal light. I thing some wood and close to the ceiling would work. I hadn't seen the judges but liked their feedback on what adds value and the return on investment.

I've always assumed a minimalist design would mean practical and functional. Silly me. I would love to see how how things look in a year, and whether the owners had remodeled or if they kept the existing design and everything is falling apart. I think it was a happy mistake with Mina since the cream warmed up the kitchen. I wish Egypt Sherrod or Anita Rossini were on instead of AV.

I'm wondering if what they'll do is have some combo of Tad/Corey/Austin doing the initial walkthrough with Mina and Chelsea involved with the floor plan, design, and staging stuff. And Karen popping up when she feels like

It seems that the weekly reward is a bonus episode of their show and it's 4 week run I am cynically think each will take turns at winning. I am on Team Mina but all had things I like. Her cons were also easily changed by the New owner. the care in the transition is a good sign. Also like the entrance to the laundry and the spa shower. For Allyson No Tariq that black wall wasn't unique. I know flip or flip Las Vegas has done something like that several times. The lack of transition in the flooring is her typical shoddyness. I also think the $7000 toilet a bit much. I assume she's going to run out of money pretty quickly. I did like the revolving shoe rack. I also assume she's going to blow at least 20,000 with her signature big ass ugly draft vent. LeAnn is another one I am concerned about running out of money. The bathroom was opulent but not practical. Not a real estate expert but I'm lot sure about the ROI. If the houses are at 750,000, I assume final price might be a million to 1.5 million, but a bathroom like that might fit into to 4-5 million house instead. The bonus episode with her brother was better since it suited him to a tee. Maybe she works better with a specific client in mind. Jasmine I didn't like all the pattern but I appreciate the practical touches like the secret door to the laundry, putting in dressing room features, and the seat in the shower.

I think because they are doing so many houses I think they they are not thinking through designs. I agree that ladder didn't look sturdy. I'm also wondering whether with all the sheets of tumbled marble they've used, could they have used some leftover hexagonal pieces to make knobs. Sadly a lot Karen's projects have been misses. I still dream of using the metal grates as failing one of these years.
