  1. Nothing says "take my thoughts seriously" more than a heart dotting your i.
  2. I'm reading the transcripts and I can say he's a great judge. But there are under currents where you can tell he is tired of the entire Duggar DNA pool and he wants them to go away. He seems very measured and disciplined in his rulings.
  3. Truly the "everyone gets a trophy" award for doing what was court ordered.
  4. LOL, not in this part of the country. They only have "Christians" and by that I mean Southern Baptists. I can't tell you the number of times I had to tell people that Catholics are Christians, they are sort of the first Christians. But yes, clergy has had a lot of cases land on my desk.
  5. Everyone do cartwheels!!! Hand hand foot foot. I used to teach/coach gymnastics. That's the mantra we would say to the kids to get their bodies in the right spot.
  6. I think I'm immune to these types of documents. I was in court for the WORST CASE EVER (it needs a special font or something) and the guy who had his CP in folders with names like "littles" and "real littles" had his preacher stand up in court and say he's a great guy, good Christian, he deserves leniency. I had to fight back scoffing noises. The guy had 8 siblings and there tons of little kids around him. What religious person puts children in danger's way?
  7. The prosecutors ask for the highest limit, Josh's lawyers respond with a 5 year minimum saying he's a great guy. The truth is, this judge is very consistent with his sentences. 20 years is what we tend to get for distribution and contact offending. If he gives a guy downloading and posseting CP that sentence, it will look strange, because he tends to give 7 to 8 years for that. I don't doubt he will add on for the fact that he's already abused victims. The question is, will it go as high as 20 years. I think not. I still think we are looking at 10 to 13 years. Anything higher will see my fat behind doing cartwheels down the hall at work.
  8. Jeremy basically declined to say that a person downloading CP was a threat. Because we all know if the "preachers for sneakers" thing doesn't work out for the wannbe influencer, he may have to crawl back to the gravy train of JB. Can't offend the man by telling the truth about him.
  9. If the J daughters were claiming the release of the information caused emotional duress, they might have been trying to ascertain if there was emotional duress in the home before the documents were released?
  10. My sister (who is a social worker) and I got into a pissing contest about whose job was more horrible. She told me she had to listen to victims tell their story. I told her I had to watch the videos of the abuse. It never leaves you. I will take some of these videos to the grave.
  11. Kids talk. Even young kids talk. I have no doubt that kids that don't have TV in the house listen closely to parents who discuss things. And I'm pretty sure there have been some heated, loud conversations at the big house. At some point, someone will tell the M kids or they will see a newspaper article or overhear someone at church discussing it. And it will not be a good situation. Anna needs to be as honest as possible with respect to their ages. Exactly. You know the FF has been up at the big house, expecting someone to make him breakfast or lunch or whatever. And then he's suddenly gone. But he's living with some people on the edge of town, and mom goes over there to stay with him all the time, that's why the M kids have to have meals at the big house. Those kids are talking and more importantly, listening.
  12. This judge doesn't care about who Josh is. He doesn't care that Josh is a white Christian. Based on the sentences he's given out historically for this same crime (to other white Christian dudes from that part of Arkansas) he's going to get a sentence between 8 and 13 years. 13 years if the judge is disgusted with Josh's sexual abuse of his sisters. Based on the rulings the judge has issued, he is annoyed with the entire freaking Duggar family, especially Josh and JB. He isn't getting off with a 5 year minimum mandatory sentence. The last case I had with CP, the judge gave the defendant an extra 3 years based on the chat transcripts I recovered, where he talked about how to groom parents into letting you have access to their kids. The judge said if he hadn't already abused a child, he was thinking and plotting ways to abuse a child. So judges are allowed to take things into consideration. And since the judge allowed the sexual abuse of his sisters to be brought up in court, he thinks that it's important for people to know Josh has already abused real life victims. I don't think Josh will get more than 13 years. I'll be doing backflips if he gets more. A great sentence is 10 years. Anything more is awesome.
  13. I was paid 22 dollars an hour to read/screen mail for a Federal Medical Center in grad school. The government was trying to entire people to work for the Justice department. I avoided that department, but damn if I didn't end up in Federal law enforcement.
  14. I'm trying to work up the energy to read them and give my forensicator opinion on them.
  15. Okay, this is shallow, but Derrick got points for referencing a great SNL. RIP Chris Farley. And I hope he keeps saying this in reference to where they move and where he is working. Nobody needs to know, Derrick.
  16. I can't stress this enough. Trust me when I say that only a pedophile knows these terms. You don't stumble across them under any circumstances in normal life.
  17. This is the defense of every perv who is convicted for CP. Also, when you are mass downloading files, some don't get opened. As for the deletion, it's what we call downloading and deleting. You download the file, watch it, get your jollies, and then delete it. They think deleting it absolves them of culpability. It's all possession.
  18. I agree. If they move into a neighborhood that has young children, she'll find another stay at home mom to have to coffee and playdates with. They will join a new church that will have young couples with children. Jill has navigated life without family for several years now. I think the adjustment to Derrick working more than 40 hours a week will be new. But she'll be happy when she realizes how big a paycheck can be without whoring your kids out on TV. Jill is a work in progress, which is a refreshing change from her siblings, who are all in the "later, rinse, repeat" mode. I also don't worry about Fenna because she seems to be an integral part of the family. The Dillards are not renters (in this market, we hope) and if they buy a house, there are no pet rules. I just hope they have a nice yard for the kids and the dog.
  19. I'm hoping that he's grown and matured, and that Jill has grown as well. Hopefully she realizes that Derrick needs to work to bring home money and that she can't rely on the family or TV to bring in funds. If she's occupied with the baby and the boys are in school, she'll have less things to worry about and will be less needy, allowing Derrick to focus on work. I hope.
  20. I think Derrick is just trolling us. Most people said he'd never finish first year. Then they said he'd never graduate. Then they said he'd never pass the bar. I'm going to help Jill have a great life and predict that Derrick will never hold down a job, make partner and be wealthy. Because every time we say he won't, he does. Congrats to Derrick on his new job. Congrats to Jill on her bun in the oven. Hopefully Jill's time in the wild will help her cope with a new baby, a husband who works all the time and three kids.
  21. NO. The fed's don't offer home detention for federal charges. Minimum will be 5 years, max is 20 and more than likely, he'll get 8 to 13 years. I really think the judge dislikes him, but he'll give Josh a sentence in line with others who have downloaded and receipt/possession. Larger sentences are for contact offenders and those who abuse and create CP, along with distribution.
  22. AND...incest means that sexual activity took place, which it clearly didn't with Josh. It was curiosity. He was a young man. It was OVER the clothes. That's not incest in Duggarworld. It really scares me what else goes on that is never called out.
  23. Or act like their religion and their "modest" ways created a family that was ultra moral and good.
  24. But when did they tell the church? Before or after there was one, two, three, four or five victims? After two victims, you need to remove the boy from the home and send him to get treatment. They created more victims by their half asses "interventions" which probably started and ended with praying to jebus.
  25. Per the transcript, yep. We heard about it at the time, but reading it was just brutal. I feel so sorry for those girls.
