Driad: Gillian told Gary right off she wouldn't get a blood test. She must have know, deep down somewhere, he was telling the truth.
I don't know if I trust him, though, with his I don't want anything line.

Thank you.  I thought she said *HE* (meaning her father) wouldn't get a blood test.  As for trusting Gary, in the real world I might, but from the stories we have seen so far, there will probably be more drama about this.

How many decades ago is this show set?  If it's in the current century, Gillian and Gareth (I hope those are the correct names) could take a DNA test to find out whether they are half siblings, and then (if it is positive) decide whether to tell Alan.

I watched the couple of episodes of season 1 long ago but with such a large cast I got too confused to continue.  Our PBS station did a marathon of season 2 recently, and seeing episodes close together helped me keep characters straight.

Surely Clyde is a fan of Peanut, a red-eared slider turtle who was rescued in 1993 with a plastic six-pack holder embedded in her shell that had deformed it to a peanut shape.  As the face of Missouri’s No More Trash campaign, warning the public of the dangers that littering poses to marine life, she exemplifies determination to overcome obstacles.  Sherlock must approve too.  http://www.iflscience.com/plants-and-animals/peanut-turtle-still-alive-and-saving-worlds-oceans

How many episodes is this show supposed to have?  Hoping it is just a one-summer series of 12-13 episodes.  If it is, a sensible date for "the big event" might be in August rather than November.

  5. Reminded me of one place I worked. A raving Christian and a raving atheist kept shouting at each other. The rest of us noticed that they were sometimes saying the same thing, but they couldn't hear it.

  6. A smaller point -- why doesn't McGee's phone have caller ID? He picked up the phone, said his name and title, listened to the caller for a moment, and only then found out that the caller was Gibbs. Surely those wasted seconds could sometimes make a difference.

  7. The way I learned it, from Reconstruction to the early 1900s, most black folks considered themselves Republicans because of Lincoln etc., although many were not actually allowed to vote (see "Solid South").  With the New Deal in the 1930s and expanded voting rights in the 1960s, the consensus shifted to Democrats.  I would have thought some of the characters had heard about this from older relatives.

Sheldon's mother Mary visited recently.  Maybe she gave Sheldon the ring (could be hers or Meemaw's).  Suppose she decided that Amy is Sheldon's best chance to have what she (Mary) considers a normal life, so she urged Sheldon to marry Amy.

(Apologies if someone else has posted this suggestion.  If you did, I didn't see it.)
