  1. Diane before her had both knees replaced at one time, too.
  2. And June too -- who they said is getting married! If they show it, this might be the first same-sex wedding on the series. 👍
  3. Maybe that's a review of earlier episodes? Toward the end of Milla's previous update, in March, she was up and walking, albeit at a rehab center, using a large walker, and going very slowly with an attendant beside her.
  4. I admit that I can't figure it out, and don't know why Joe's post is considered passive-aggressive. I figured Sarah must have had an affair which Joe found out about, and for whatever their reasons, they couldn't put it behind them and continue with the marriage. If the marriage is ending due to infidelity, I would not consider that as 'dumping' -- but who knows what actually happened.
  5. Thanks for the update, ShortyMac. I'm sorry to know that Joe and Sarah's marriage has failed after nearly three years, but their relationship always seemed a bit rushed to me. I cannot find any reference to this news online, nor on Joe's FB fan page. Can you let us know your source for this info, perhaps a link?
  6. Thanks for this info on the bonus scenes, Twopper. Sounds like they did not reveal too much, other than the fact his mother's remains had been cremated. I've wondered a bit on the disposition of Sean's own remains. I doubt that any of his family in California would have paid to have them shipped back there, but since his mother had been cremated, probably he was too. If no one wanted their ashes, they may have been dispersed over water. [That's how I'm going to end up myself.]
  7. I agree with this for the most part, but since she and Dawayne have been together since Jennifer was thirty, which is about thirteen years now, I think they are probably going to stay together. IMO Dawayne doesn't seem to be that bad, compared to some of the other poundticipant partners, so long as he continues to stay away from drugs and gambling. At least he works and is not living off any public assistance Jennifer may receive. The big questions I think are if he can stay clean, and if he will stick with her if Jennifer should succeed at losing more weight.
  8. Here is the latest from Dr. Now's Instagram. Whose stomach do you suppose this is? [There was no caption I could find, just the photo plus comments from visitors.]
  9. Ready for a bit of levity? I read on another message board that some people think Sean's voice sounded much like Winnie the Pooh. Oh, brilliant! Perhaps they could have done their stoutness exercises together:
  10. Is that because their tails are so long and fluffy? Well, so long as you don't bite it:
  11. Ay, I'm such an easterner. To me White Mountains = New Hampshire. 😍

  13. I've watched the episode twice and, as expected, I was much more interested in Liz' story than in the mother/daughter drama between Jennifer and Marissa. Was happy to see Liz make so much progress as she did, but even by the end she didn't seem to be doing so well as the scale would indicate. She looked a lot heavier than her weight, which might have been due to her short height and to excess skin. Walking still seemed to be supremely difficult and painful for her, even once she was managing with just a cane. It looked as though she were unable to bend at the knees and so had to swing her whole body around in order to take steps. I was concerned that we didn't see Liz's mother at all, although we did see her aunt a little bit. Thought something might have happened to her mother, who had been in frail health, and that they just didn't saying anything about it. But when Liz came back home from her last stay in rehab, she mentioned she was happy to see her mother again, so she must be at least well enough to live at home and perhaps just did not want to be seen on camera again. Don't recall seeing Liz smile at all, even when she received good news or when she went out to lunch with her godson. It was as though her happiness reservoir had run dry years ago, never to be replenished. I have to admit that with all her physical recovery -- how wonderful that she is no longer bed-bound after all those years -- I don't see Liz as getting to a point where she would really rejoin society such as getting a job, dating, and socializing with friends. I think she would need a lot of psychotherapy. In her first episode a counselor did go to her house to work with her, but there was nothing shown during the follow-up. I do hope she is continuing with the psychotherapy.
  14. Sean was friendly with a neighbor in one of the apartment complexes where he lived in Houston, a woman named Ashley who has posted about Sean on FB. She might have been one of them. She said too that there was a church group that used to check in on him from time to time, so perhaps someone from that group would have pitched in. I can't help thinking that Sean must have had opportunities to be more actively involved with others, but that his depression kept him isolated. I'm sure Dr. Now and Dr. Paradise could have put him in touch with support groups, which may have had monthly meetings, and he could have got involved with something at church, even if just attending Sunday services and perhaps a social hour afterward. But his depression sapped his energy, and he ended up spending money he could have used for clothing and taxi fares, on mass quantities of food, which then further disabled him. So instead of climbing out bit by bit, he was circling the drain until he finally went down. Damn.
  15. Thanks for that tidbit, Wanda. Although we know Sean didn't know how to do things like cooking and cleaning, shopping and errands, he must have been taught personal care by someone if not by his mother. He did go to school until twelfth grade, so he must have known the proper ways to shower, shampoo, brush teeth, dress himself, get haircuts, etc. But it was like after his ankle injury and his decision to drop out of society and stay at home in bed with just his mother around, he 'forgot' how to do all those things. In rehab when they were teaching Sean how to shower properly, he actually asked the attendants if he should put more soap on the sponge. They said 'yes' so he did so, but then he rinsed the soap off of the sponge before washing and so was scrubbing himself with just plain water. It was like he was failing on purpose, but why, only Sean would have known.
  16. At the beginning of their first episode, Jennifer explained that she had had three children total -- two with her husband, and one which was the product of an affair. She had her daughter Marissa at age 16; her son Payton (not seen in the first episode except briefly in an old photo) at age 19. Her third pregnancy at age 22 she kept hidden from her husband, and when the boy was born she gave him up for adoption. Since Jennifer had just one daughter, I would guess that Marissa's sister would be a half-sister, from another marriage/relationship that her father had had. At one point Jennifer had lost custody of Marissa and Payton, due to substance abuse issues she developed after she got together with Dwayne. She and Dwayne lived alone for several years, while Marissa and Payton lived with their grandparents. I'm guessing these were her ex-husband's parents from the way she phrased it. And I would also guess that the two of them maintained a relationship with their father while living with their grandparents, and got to know their half-sibling(s). Marissa said that when she was 18 she went back to live with her mother (and Dwayne) since her mother's health had taken a big turn for the worse and she did not want her mother to become bed-bound. And she had been living with her mother again since then, as her care-giver, but while also working outside the home. No word on what became of her brother Payton -- he's probably just living his own life.
  17. Yes, that's what killed Sean. The huge weight gain-loss-gain every few months put terrible strain on his heart.
  18. Yes, next week is another follow-up on Milla -- the second one of this season, but this episode is all to herself.
  19. I thought Marissa already had a girlfriend, the one who moved to Houston with her. ❓❔
  20. Oh man, I haven't thought about "What's Happening" in decades. I do remember the series and the main characters, but my only association for Hey-Hey-Hey is Fat Albert !! 😊
  21. I remember "A Different World" a little, but didn't watch it much because I didn't care for it. The only Dwayne I remember is from "One Day at a Time" -- the original series from the 70s. Dwayne Schneider was the building's superintendent, played by terrific actor Patrick Harrington. 😎
