  1. Thank you for the link to the article, Twopper. Much appreciated. 😘
  2. Rehab for Sarah? That's a shock! She was doing so well by the end of her update. Do you know what happened, that got her involved subsequently with drugs or alcohol?
  3. Yes, indeed. I can remember a job application I submitted some time in the past year. It asked if the candidate had at least five years of experience with a version of the Mac operating system that had only been out for two or three years. Some of these hiring managers don't have a clue.
  4. There are a lot of doors that are closed without a degree. I've worked in IT over thirty years, and there are many jobs that won't interview me, no matter my abilities, because I don't have a degree (in any subject). Also, this spring I was applying for a training grant, to take classes to expand my skills. I was limited to one IT program (end user support) because it was the only one that did not require a degree. The systems analyst, network administrator, and web developer programs all required a minimum of an associates degree, because they know the employers require it, and their goal is to help people get jobs. The market for tech jobs did not used to be this way thirty to forty years ago -- even programmers only needed technical training -- but that's the way it is now.
  5. A recent offering on Dr. Now's Instagram page:
  6. They are not mentioned in the obit itself, but by a guest. A misunderstanding I would say. This other page from the funeral home shows the parents names for James Dewey King as Rondal Chester and Mila Eve Helton King. But we know the father of our James King is named Donald. https://www.davisanddavisfuneralhome.com/obituaries/James-King-57/#!/Obituary
  7. If this is the obituary you had found, this is a different person, a James Dewey King: https://www.legacy.com/obituaries/name/james-king-obituary?pid=187255138
  8. Have you got the last name correct? The poundticipant's name was James King, not James Kean.
  9. If you'd be interested in watching someone eat as many fresh, ripe peaches as he possibly can, then here you go:
  10. I think you're thinking of Angela G (sounds like her) rather than Angie J. They were both from Ohio. Angela G. only made one trip to Houston, whereas Angie J. moved there.
  11. The most recent post on Dr. Now's Instagram page says: "New season of my 600 pounds life is going on now." Don't know exactly what he means by 'going on now', as we know that TLC stopped broadcasting new episodes on July 3rd, but perhaps he means that they are in production for a new season.
  12. Her husband's name was Justin. [They are divorcing now.]
  13. I've seen that report. What's odd is that it's dated April 30, which is a week before her episode aired. Which makes me think that this may have been a second, or follow-up test, one that doesn't show as many issues in the toxicology section as a previous test may have. Unless they were filming and editing up until just a few days before broadcast. I agree that there would have to be more than just marijuana, xanax, and cigarette smoking on the report for Dr. Now to say accurately that multiple narcotics were found. So either this is a later test, or a fudged report, or Dr. Now was not truthful about the report on camera as Angie claims.
  14. No one is concerned about the dead wasps inside those figs ?? [See video posted above.]
  15. You poor kid. Perhaps this will help you to Just Say No:
  16. As I recall, Cynthia had made the decision to stop losing weight, when she was in the mid-300s. One of the main reasons was the loose skin that develops, and after having skin removal surgery on her arms (her first skin removal) she said she would not be able to do it again due to the difficult and time-consuming recovery. She had a full-time job, as well as several children at home to whom she was a single parent, and could not afford the time-out again. And that was why she left Dr. Now's program. She also said she was happy with her size at that point, she could do the things she wanted, and did not want to be slim. But, it could be she has changed her mind since then, or that her situation has changed.
  17. I'll say, and I've been to New Zealand as a tourist, and learned a lot about Maori culture while there. Sounds interesting. Speaking of Maori culture, has anyone else here seen the movie Whale Rider? I've seen it a few times; highly recommended.
  18. A recent post to Dr. Now's Instagram (no caption): It looks like they've placed a bear trap over the patient. I keep expecting it to snap shut on their hands! 😧
  19. Since you have NetFlix -- have you watched "The Crown" yet? I can recommend it whole-heartedly, both seasons. The third season should be released some time later this year. I can also recommend "Black Mirror."
  20. I'd love to do a 'summer reruns' topic, which could extend into the fall, where we'd pick one episode for each week and live chat. But since TLC doesn't seem to be broadcasting any reruns of our show, we might have to watch them online, unless we've saved recordings. I suppose we'd have to start by choosing which episodes we want to 'rerun' and when. Anyone else like this idea? My only problem is that I'm taking IT courses Monday and Wednesday evenings now, for the rest of July and August, so if we kept to the Wednesday evening schedule I could not join in live. 😢
  21. Everyone's meals sound terrific! My breakfast was french toast with turkey sausage, and iced coffee. Tonight I won't have opportunity to eat until after 10pm, which means I may skip it. If I do decide to eat, I've told myself it must be vegetables, such as a veggie wrap. Have not been getting enough fruits and vegetables lately. [My favorite diner closed!]
  22. In this steamy, hot summer weather I've been taking refuge in watching ice cream mukbangers on YouTube. It's surprisingly satisfying (to me) to watch someone eat mass quantities of ice cream, while I manage with my occasional scoop of vanilla to hold down the carbs. Here's a good one: And this one, if you like ice cream novelties: And this fellow, who bakes his own apple pie from scratch to eat along with his ice cream: <sigh>
  23. Any of the episodes can be watched at any time via TLC's website or their TLC Go app. The episodes can be unlocked and watched at no charge by signing in with one's television provider. Here is Tamy Lyn: https://www.tlc.com/tv-shows/my-600-lb-life/full-episodes/tamy-lyns-story And here is Alicia: https://www.tlc.com/tv-shows/my-600-lb-life/full-episodes/alicias-story For those of us who don't have a television provider (like me) all the episodes are available on Amazon for $2.99 each (that's purchase, not rental). Here is season six, which contains both Tamy Lyn and Alicia: https://www.amazon.com/gp/video/detail/B078SLBGDY P.S. I'm going to miss you all tonight -- our first Wednesday night of 2019 without a live chat!
  24. LB Bonner died almost a year ago, so they couldn't have filmed much after his first year. Supposedly other updates were ready to go, such as for Tamy Lyn, but TLC did not broadcast them this year. No idea why, but they seemed to decide in the last minute to stop after seven WATN episodes, as evidenced by how long they delayed in posting the schedule for July 10.
  25. Hmmm, but that's not how Dottie was left last season. Dr. Now admitted her to hospital, because while she was in the hotel she messed up -- she smoked cigarettes, gained weight, and did not keep her sutures clean and so they got infected (and were opening up too due to her weight gain) -- and lied to him about it all. Dr. Now was angry with Dottie, understandably, and wasn't going to schedule her for any further skin surgeries for the foreseeable future.
