Yes that's what happened she was doing this to make Jake jealous but she couldn't get him out of her mind they almost slept together but stopped for that reason. Phillip had his own reasons with Chloe. Michael Dietz is the actor it's not lost on me that he joined the show after Ari left(they used to be engaged)

This is why when it comes to Alex vs Maggie I find myself siding with Alex. Sure he's a tool but he's not done nearly half the terrible things Xander has either. I can't get into the Johnny/Chanel storyline but I do like that Johnny has a realistic POV here I just think this baby story is awful all around.

I think EJ will be empathetic to a point. I personally think Little Rachel shot him and I see EJ protecting her. However he also won't be above using it to his advantage also if needed. Speaking of Kayla this was a good day for her. I thought her scenes were the best she got a POV(her valid reasons for despising EJ), and interacted with characters that this show seems to forget she's connected to(JJ namely). Maggie talking about how important she is for the hospital was quite poignant as well. The only thing missing was her interacting with Steve and it feels like months. I mean it's only the first day but there seems to be a bit more nuance and acknowledgement of ties we always mention are ignored and shouldn't be.

We would have to have Melissa back for that one although I find it hard to believe nobody else in the family would've known all these years. I mean Jennifer was a bridesmaid at her and Jack's failed wedding all those years ago. Unless Mickey made that adoption happen and Maggie kept it a secret. I'm not opposed to Jack having a long lost child(as his history would make sense for him to have one out there) but having it be Gwen was rather pointless when 1) Jennifer and JJ barely got to react to this in the first place and were basically removed from this story 2) It didn't add anything to the show or Jack for that matter as he's barely around to begin with. Gwen was best when she was friends with Claire and Jake's ex it went downhill after that. She was the recasted Theresa Donovan after JL left. I liked her scenes with Tate and co-parenting Brady her Theresa was less insufferable but at the same time seemed out of place. Yes like they have normalized Kristen who should've been written out ages ago. At least this show got rid of Ava for now at least.

They want to normalize her sociopathic behavior to the audience.

I don't need Bo around long term tbh(same with Hope). I'm content with visits. It's not that I'm opposed to them being around regularly as they are one of the few supercouples we have left but I am not sure what story they would have. Yes there's Shawn and I guess they could deal with his drama but he has a grown kid as well they barely acknowledge. I guess Ciara could return with her kids without Ben but I would be surprised. They dropped the ball on this family as far as the future of this show.

I think some characters are meant to be alone. Erica Kane on AMC being alone in the end made sense to me. There are some characters that can't be tamed. Sami is one of them. Marlena despite having multiple popular pairings also was different in that while she didn't need a love interest to be relevant she was able to coexist with one. I just don't see it for Sami in general.

Back when soaps had a budget and could write umbrella stories that used to be the case. Days doesn't have either going for them. I'm not really sure what the show's future plan is. I don't think they have one. The OGs are slowly leaving us and the next generation isn't enough to usher it through the future.

That would be me it was so obvious they just needed him to be away for Gabi to be with JJ for a while and then have her available for his return. I thought this as well between this and Sami finding what Lucas did unforgivable I can see Days keeping Rafe on standby for Sami. I personally don't see Sami as a character that needed an endgame. I think her endgame is either the Grim Reaper(my personal preference) or realizing she's content being alone and her joy is in her children. I admit I'm surprised that Ejami wouldn't be endgame as they had EJ held hostage for years in that relationship and both his kids with Nicole died. However I wonder if JS was still in the role they would have done this. Maybe they just don't see it with AS/DF(I don't either but I would be surprised if Days admitted such a thing) Can they let Lucas move on with his life and commit to a long-term love interest for him? He has ties to this show that don't have to deal with Sami you would think the show would want to bring back as many vets/familiar faces as they can that want to be here long term. Unless Days were to end sometime soon AS would only need to be there then and just have her and Rafe reunite(if they are endgame).

I get the distinct feeling they're going to re-visit Phillip and Belle. I agree about LB and maybe we would've been spared Ben/Ciara in the process had they let her age naturally. Ciara went downhill after Lauren left that was the last time I liked the character. I think Victoria was fine as an adult Ciara but her character being stuck with Ben did her no favors. I've been telling everyone JJ/Gabi was a pitstop to the inevitable Stabi reunion and despite BB's comments he was going to return. I'm fine with it but I hope they have JJ do something else besides trying to win back Gabi. I wish they kept him as an EMT and just have family scenes that's enough for me as this show doesn't know how to write romances anymore.

Christie Clark not Julie but yes her and Alison seem to be it as far as watching a child grow up on the show.

Chanel went from opportunist to bakery shop owner in an instant. I mean I know it's a soap but I think a bit of a build up would've been nice. I think that's a large part in why the younger generation is lacking amongst other things. Hope, Jennifer etc had pitfalls before they got to where they did professionally. Hope wasn't taken seriously as a cop especially when she showed up in that fur coat of hers but eventually over time she gained their respect. Same with Jennifer who was a plucky doe-eyed reporter that Jack didn't take all that seriously either but eventually he did. These used to be good character arcs that we saw develop over time and helped with character development. They felt like actual people and not caricatures that seem interchangeable.

Yes I think that's why they recasted her
-
Even though I can't stand the character I thought Finley Slater was a good child actress. I do think they want to take her a more mature route in which case the recast may have been necessary(although I would be fine if the character never existed to begin with but I digress). I wouldn't mind Chad being EJ's shooter(he's not going to die) but I don't know what his motive would be. BF is airing till January 2026 which is insane to me but I digress. There's no way Chad would ever leave them behind and I do think the show has an interest in more Hortons which Thomas/Charlotte would be. They are one of the few links to the potential future of Days this show has. They don't care about Chad beyond Abby who they aren't bringing back unless they recast Chad but I don't see the point as he doesn't seem to have an established identity beyond Abby. I was hoping Thomas would be involved in more plots on this show instead of Rachel. I thought him hiding that card from Konstantin had potential before it was revealed too quickly.

I honestly don't remember that scene but I thought they had a good sibling rapport. I think JJ worked with both Abigails and Jennifers which is wild since I didn't think Matt fit with Cady's Jennifer and Marci's Abby seemed closer to the Dimeras than the Hortons in general. -
Well since it's a recurring basis I'm fine with this. They are familiar faces but we know they won't be a focal point which is perfectly fine at this stage of their lives. It does make me wonder if they might kill off Chad for BF's exit and Jack/Jennifer/JJ end up raising Thomas/Charlotte which I would be ok with tbh. I am pretty sure they will have other things to do besides what you mentioned (except the JJ part that's a given) since they have ties to other characters besides the ones you mentioned. I just hope they get to interact with Steve/Kayla more. It's weird how this show acts like Steve/Jack aren't brothers with their lack of scenes. They dropped the ball on the drama of Steve helping break Clyde out of jail and Jack/Jennifer/JJ didn't get to react to that. I could see them killing Chad off and Abigail takes him into the afterlife. Or they could both leave and take the kids and be HEA. I'm ok with either option but I admit I will miss Thomas/Charlotte for soap kids it's rare that I am not bothered by them. I actually wouldn't mind watching them grow up in real time(if Days manages to last that long). They are the future Hortons(and Dimeras) of the show.

She's Italian and while I agree she didn't look like Jack/Jennifer's daughter(even when they had her dye her hair blonde at one point to match) she had great onscreen chemistry with them and her TV bro that made me look past it.
