    NHL Thread

I can't believe I didn't know this thread existed, so excited to find it. Does make me very nervous to post though since my team (whispers) is playing really good hockey right now...please hockey gods do not punish them for my uttering those words! One of my brothers took me to my first game when I was 9, the very first season ever for the Washington Capitals. About 2500 "fans" at the old Cap Center in Landover, MD (home of the WORST boards on planet Earth). So I am greatly enjoying the Caps celebrating their 40 year anniversary, I am one of the few that can say I have been on board since the start. Now if only we could actually win the Cup in the next 40 years!! My son is a huge hockey fan too, I love the mom-son bonding that hockey has brought us :-) I still cannot get used to the Division/Conference names, I still consider the Caps as part of the Patrick Division...
  2. Many departments do have this practice, for firefighters also. Even some military units have a similar procedure. Absolutely gut wrenching in person :-(
  3. Why did Seely stay behind his desk the entire episode? What the actor injured?
  4. Donny seemed so relaxed in the jury house, I loved seeing him like that! My husband (who usually misses any shade thrown) was cracking up at Donny and his comments :-)
  5. Gong of Doom while there were a lot of stories about Spiers killing POWs, there was never any proof that it happened. While in the Church at the end of the fight in Foy, Spiers addresses the rumors and denies them. He claims that he never denied the stories before because there is power in the guys thinking he was "mean and crazy". He went on to have a long Army career, retires out a Lt Col.
  6. I thought every scene of this episode was written/shot/acted just perfectly. My favorite part though was Winters raging on the edge of the forest wanting so badly to run down to the battle an lead his men "Easy Company" out of danger. Damien Lewis did a fantastic job of portraying the agony Winters felt seeing Dike fail and thereby expose those good men to bad shit. That this episode was told through Lipton was also an excellent decision, he had a foot in both worlds (the men and the officers). I cry every damn time I see the series, but this episode crushes me.
  7. WTF did I just watch? I have no idea what percentage of this show is real vs. scripted, it is 100% exhausting and gross. I can only imagine how much worse everything would be if these famewhores got ahold of daddy Spellings millions and millions of dollars. I can imagine how sweet all of this is must be for their ex-spouses, talk about karma.
