I take issue with Maggie calling herself Holly's nearest living relative.  She has an adult sister, Melanie, who would come before her and Holly has an aunt and uncle on Nicole's side as well as Sara and Melissa on the odious Dr. Tan the Dan Man's side.  Not to mention the relations she must have from the parents who actually raised Daniel.

I would love it if Taylor were to show up in Salem and take Holly away. The poor kid can't catch a break in this town.

Nick was probably only looking for the biggest goat when he chose Angelina but you make an excellent point about her becoming vindictive if he didn't choose her.

Most importantly, Nick wanted to get rid of the only real threat, Mike, and knew that Kara was better at fire making than Angelina. I'm pretty sure he knew he could beat Angelina or Kara, but wasn't so sure about Mike.

Plus Mike did not even TRY to win. He only said he was happy to be there. Never once did he mention it was important for him to win or he wanted to be the sole Survivor and he deserved to win etc. In the contrary I was under the impression he could care less about the money.

Mike's final tribal council was terrible! I was surprised, since he's a writer and actor. He didn't make a single argument for himself. Up until then, he had a fairly decent shot at winning, despite being rich. He played a good game, arguably better than Nick, but it seemed like he gave up at the last minute.

I fully agree. And the way she said it, come on now, that was offensive. I'm surprised they seem to be making Julie racist, especially since it doesn't seem like it's going to be mentioned or anything.

Julie has a history of being racist. She was opposed to her son David's interracial relationship with Valerie, which is why Val kept Eli a secret from the entire Horton clan. I don't expect that they'll address this latest instance of racism ever again, though.

    How did Lucas leave Salem?

Lucas just left for "Italy" to be with Ali, who he suspects of becoming an alcoholic. I presume he flew there (from "Salem International").

Where are Shane and Kim?  Do they still live in LA??

Kim and Shane are still in LA. Kim has cancer, and (Jeannie) Teresa and Tate are there with them.

I'm finally getting around to watching yesterday's show online, and I caught a goof.  Kate said she was afraid to come clean about Leo because "Victor" would make it his life's work to destroy her.  I assume she meant Stefan.

No, Victor would destroy her because she messed with his favorite nephew, Sonny, and his company, Titan.

Then she goes to Alison and starts off perfectly fine making a case for herself but immediately it was the tears and the "I'm so scared, etc." It just becomes a little much after awhile. I know they're all sleep deprived, hungry, desperately trying to win but the tears at every corner just becomes a little exhausting to watch.

But in Alison's talking head, she said she was moved by Gabby's tears, making her more open to an alliance. I'm not saying Gabby did this on purpose, but it WORKED.

@islandgal140 -- I can't believe I didn't realize until I read your post that just divorcing Chad would have removed his ability to commit her -- she didn't have to marry Stefan. I'm slipping, lol. And this storyline sucks.

But then Jennifer would be able to commit her (at least by DAYS logic). In the real world, there wouldn't have to be ANY relative to commit her if two physicians determine that she's a danger to herself or others. There would have to be a court hearing within 48 hours, but she could be kept until then.

I think both of these post-swap Goliath votes were totally terrible moves game-wise, but I'm thrilled if we don't have a Pagonging season for once in our lives.

More votes is always better.  Being on opposite sides of a vote is a very strong line.  If they blindsided Angelina, she'd be very unwilling to work with them in the future.  And because they knew Angelina doesn't like Natalie either, it makes sense to try to get her to come along instead of leaving her out of the loop -- it's unlikely she'd use an idol to save Natalie or tip her off.  Keep everybody's options open!  It's good gameplay!

I totally agree with both these points. And also that Mike kept his hands relatively clean and can still work with Angelina if he needs to.

Nicky was supposed to be what, 22? If he wanted to be a doctor why didn't he go to med school? We see his room full of books and science paraphernalia. Wonder if he finished his undergrad. Has it been established that Jack never went to college at all? I was too young to be aware of it at the time but I feel like a lot of young men went to or stayed in school to get deferments.

I got the impression that the Pearsons didn't have the money for college, so it wasn't an option for Nicky. If he'd been born into a wealthier family, he would have gone to college (and gotten a deferment and not been drafted).

Unless he already applied to other schools closer to home, he will be deferring college if he doesn't go to Howard.  He could maybe go to a community college (I don't know the application rules for that), but any other college has already filled their freshman classes and has waiting lists if anyone drops out, like Randall did.

I'm pretty sure he applied to more than one college, and it would be likely that at least one of them was closer to home than Howard. We don't know how much time had passed between his receipt of the acceptance letter from Howard and his phone call. It's entirely possible that there are still other colleges in play that have or will accept him.

  12. Everyone is assuming that because teen Randall didn't go to Howard that year, that he's deferring college. He could have applied to other schools, like Pitt or Carnegie Mellon, that are closer to home and may go to one of them that very year. (This would also save money since he could commute.)

The air traffic controller and the pilot were talking as he was coming in to land.  The pilot was asked several times to identify himself and the aircraft.

Not only that, but the air traffic controllers diverted them from JFK to another, less busy airport so that Homeland Security could quarantine the plane and question all those aboard.

  14. The voices remind me of WONDERFALLS where the main character has voices telling her to do things (but cryptically) and if she doesn't, the force behind them makes her life hell until she does. (But WONDERFALLS was a LOT better!)

  15. It's not as funny as THE GOOD PLACE, but it's okay for what it is.  I really enjoyed the teenaged best friend and his attempts to reconnect with his now middle aged high school crush.

I think Maya's character was a selfish asshole to her husband. In trying to avoid confrontation and the resulting unpleasantness, she was exceedingly cruel. He was oblivious to her dissatisfaction, but she didn't do anything to enlighten him. If she could talk him into the ill-fated ski trip, she could probably talk him into mixing things up in the afterlife, too.

I liked the ending, and will definitely watch a second season if it comes back.
