  1. It's odd that none of the (now ex-)wives were ever suspects.

Since this wasn't the final episode, I think the scummy doc is NOT the culprit, but that someone planted the evidence in his house. I don't know if his ex-wife had access to the house, but she seems the most likely murderer to me.

Cassie is concerned that her dad is developing dementia (left the stove on) and that the girlfriend is a golddigger. How much money does he really have, though? They're not exactly living in a mansion.

I'm glad they made it clear to the audience that Holly was alive.  But who were the victims of the car accident?  Was that part of Xander's plan?  Were the EMT's paid off by him to say there was and adult male and female child in the car?

I'm assuming Zander's henchmen found two already dead bodies and put them in the car. However, if they're able to identify them as an adult male and a female child, they'd also be able to check their dental records, and maybe even DNA, and find out that it's NOT Holly. It shouldn't take more than a week or so for the Salem medical examiner to figure this out.

  3. Having only seen the musical, and not read the book, I don't understand how Petit-Gervais would have been able to name Jean Valjean as the man who robbed him. He MIGHT have been able to recognize on sight the robber, but wouldn't have known his name. So how is THIS the reason that not-Jean Valjean was arrested?

  4. Julia was the right choice. She's much better at challenges than Aurora and seems to have better strategic chops. Until tonight, I thought she had a decent social game, but she really blew that up at Tribal (not that Aurora covered herself in glory there, either, but Julia was even worse).

But the people in the game proper could also be getting fish.  It's just that no one bothers.  I am surprised none of them (especially Eric, who looks like he should be the alpha male) tried to fish to be the hero provider.

We don't know that they're NOT trying to fish. We just know that they don't seem to have any fish. For all we know, they could be spending hours a day trying to catch fish, but because they're not catching any, the editors aren't showing it.

I worked with a young woman, mid 20's who had a U shaped mark on her forehead she said came from forceps.  First I had seen that.

Was the foster child with the Turners the first time shown? I thought they'd show Trixie coming home or how they came about and I wondered if I missed a show going from Netflix to PBS for season 8.

It was in the holiday special. Not sure if it's on Netflix, but my PBS station showed it right before this episode, so it may be on the PBS website or on demand.

I didn’t find the “modifications” creepy or disturbing because they’re not actually body modifications. They’re just prosthetics in an art exhibit. It reminded me of the makeup prosthetic show Face/Off. If anyone was trying to date when this season was filmed, this exhibit ran in September 2018.

It was my impression that the prosthetics were SIMULATING "actual" body modifications that the artist dreamed up for his future world. So, yes, they were removable, but we were supposed to pretend that they were not.

I think it is has been because:

    a) The tribe has been divided, basically the Wentworth faction vs. the David faction, so it was easier for those groups to try to work with The Warthog, than to team up to vote him out.

    b) He was perceived as an asset in challenges because of his size, though that perception seems to have changed.

    c) About half the time, The Warthog's strategy made perfect sense, so they were going along with a good plan.

And d) He would throw a hissy fit and target you if you didn't go along with him.

I would love to see Wardog get blindsided, but I'm not sure it'd be a good move on Kelley's part. Wardog is up her butt saving her week after week while David has tried to get her booted every week. Although, Wardog wanting to get rid of Lauren is bad news for her, but she should probably just try to turn him around on that and not boot him.

I don't think Kelley KNOWS that David has tried to get her booted. He's never voted for her and hasn't even pushed her ouster with the Warthog. He waited for the Warthog to suggest Kelley and agreed with him, but backed off when the Warthog "changed" his mind.

And a former Georgetown tennis coach was indited in this scandal.   So, you know, they can pay reparations but they still aren't going to be getting a lot of good press this year.

Not that I'm particularly sympathetic to the universities involved in this scandal, but they appear to have been the victims of greedy faculty members who pocketed bribes to lie about "athletes" so that the applicants would be admitted to the school.

That said, I don't think Brady is going to let up anytime soon. I thought it was funny that he went to see Eric for comfort but got slammed by him and Rex. None of them are actually related to each other, right?

Brady is the son of John and Isabella. Eric is the son of Roman and Marlena. Rex is the son of Roman and Kate (with Marlena as the surrogate). So Rex and Eric are half brothers and Brady and Eric are stepbrothers. Rex and Brady are not related to each other, but are both related to Eric.

I haven't seen the ep yet, but it seems like Salem is home to very few people of any colour or other culture - only two Chinese people, and maybe three, if Mr. Shinn/Xin/Whatever is also Asian.

Mr. Shin isn't in Salem, he's in Hong Kong. They just talk to him on the phone when they need a representative of the DiMira "Board" to pipe up.

Or without the lead actor winning best actor. I mean, what makes a movie if not the acting? That’s not taking anything away from the director, cinematographer, costume, makeup, editor or anyone  else. But if a movie isn’t welll acted, that’s the only thing most people take away. And if the film wins best picture, then how does the lead actor not win his category? It’s just something I’ve never quite understood.

There's a lot more to a movie than the acting. I would argue that a poorly written movie shouldn't be the "best" of the year, even if the acting is great. And if it's poorly edited, it might not make much sense to the viewer. Poor cinematography might make it difficult to see what's going on, etc.

And the best performance of the year might not have been in the best movie (and often isn't). Or the movie might not have had a "lead" actor at all (like THE FAVOURITE, or ROMA, which only had female leads).

If time is the reason they need to leave a handful of people out of the "In Memoriam" segment, then they need to simply allot more time for it.

The length of the show has improved by them cutting out a lot of the ridiculous bits that they used to do--remember the fashion show for the Best Costume award?--but they should NEVER skimp on commemorating beloved colleagues who have passed away.

At the very least, perhaps it's the "behind the scenes" people who should be pared down, rather than actors.

I agree that they need to include more people in the "In Memoriam" segment, but I think they should include MORE of the "behind the scenes" people. They're the reason we can watch the movies, and they don't get enough credit while they're alive, either.

I was particularly irked that they didn't even list the winners of the technical awards. Why bother talking about the ceremony if they're not going to say anything about the winners?

  15. What does Jordan think will happen if she kills Ciara while Ben is in police custody? Wouldn't that rule him out as the kidnapper/murderer and lead to his release? And if she left Kate alive, Kate will tell everyone (Rafe?) that Jordan drugged her. I know Jordan is supposed to be crazy, but they've never suggested that she's stupid (until now).

I don't know how I missed JJ telling Jack about Haley's secret. I mean, it was obvious the second they started talking that he would and I was waiting for it, so like how did I miss it lol?

Ok, maybe JJ hasn't told Jack Hayley's secret yet, but it's clear that he's about to do so. And it's a REALLY bad idea.

Not going to lie: Not sorry to see Tripp go. And since Shawn is not here with any regularity, losing Ciara will leave Hope with neither of her kids on the canvas. That said, I also won't miss Ciara/Ben AT ALL. Watch though, she'll leave town with the loon or something.

(Disregarding all of the above for Ciara if the show recasts, after all. Even then, the thing with Ben may or may not last since recasts often don't have the same chemistry, etc.)

If they recast with Lauren Bowles, all will be forgiven. Is she old enough yet?

Christina's red and navy dress was a nice use of the two colors together, but I had to agree with Anne about it looking like a fall/winter dress due to the long sleeves.

She should have said that in Australia, graduation IS in the fall.
