Agreed, but I was more Team Sommer than Team Abe.  She had JUST lost a reward she was excited about and was naturally pissed.  He could not even give her a SECOND to have her feelings before yammering at her.  I felt like he was a dick for no reason.

I agree.  I didn't think Sommer was being that unreasonable.  Read the room Abe...and god forbid you are so fragile that a woman refuses to shake your hand.  At any time really, but especially after being removed from a fun reward for no reason.

And Abe was talking over her later and just being a dick for no reason than that his little feelings were hurt.

Oh, I did notice one positive. Christine said Kody bought Ysabel’s a reliable car.  That’s a plus.  Even used cars with miles run around $30,000.  Even then, they were pricy. I don’t know how they do it financially.  Boggles the mind.

I guess buying her a car is the VERY least he can do, but let's not make it bigger than it is.

I bought a used 2019 Jeep Compass Latitude in 2020 for $18,000 in California and it only had 12,000 miles.  I know prices went up a little shortly after I bought mine, but there are plenty of good used cars with miles that are definitely NOT $30k.

Sorry if I sound bitchy.  I don't really mean to but I find it hard to give this asshole ANY credit at all.  All of these people (adults) make me so very mad.

  3. Who can blame her?  I've always thought there would be several of the kids speaking out, writing books, acting out like poor Colin.  I think the ones with Kate will be older and have to distance themselves from the brainwashing and stockholm syndrome they no doubt have.

Well, maybe, but not Ben & Jerry's, that picture is a well-known photoshop joke.  🙂

Similarly, though, I did one time purposefully buy chocolate infused with bacon at a pretty high-end chocolatier on upper 5th avenue.  It was a really awful flavor combination, and I would not recommend it even - or especially - if you LIKE bacon.  Or chocolate.  Or food in general.

Hahaha!  I love bacon in high end chocolate.  If I see one anywhere, I buy it.  lol

I didn't actually dislike Sam; I just found him tiresome.  I suspect that he developed that obnoxiously ebullient personality to compensate for being a very small male growing up in a country where most men are much bigger.  That had to be difficult on a lot of levels.

    Where did he grow up?

Kim just had a major panic attack that almost caused her to quit the race. In all of the podcasts/interviews that they have done the past couple of days she has been very complimentary of Penn. In the extra clips throughout the race she has often said she has the best partner and she was extremely supportive of Penn when he screwed up in London. I don’t know why some are so hung up on her not acting how they think she should act in a few minutes of edited footage.

My nephew’s wife suffers from anxiety and I’ve seen first hand how it effects her and how the judgmental bull she hears from others makes her feel like less of a person.

We don’t know that she didn’t…editing can really change reality.

I just started listening to their race recaps on their podcast and on one (sorry, I don't remember which), Penn mentions that his "love language" is actually physical - hugs and kisses.  So whenever Kim stops to give him a hug or kiss on the race, that is her way of showing him that he is doing great and she loves him.

It does seem to me like she is not as physically/verbally demonstrative so she makes sure to do this.

My anxiety has gotten extreme at times over the past several years and I just shut down and need to be away from everyone.  So I get it.  And a lot of people do NOT understand.

OK, so Sparkle Pony says in the interview:   "It's over. The intimate part of our marriage is over. And, to be honest, I'm not okay with that."

So despite all of the evidence of what a truly loathsome human, that's the reason she's decided to leave?  He's treated her like dirt and her children even worse.  But if she was still getting her share of Little Kootie she'd be staying?

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I give none of these cultists a free pass.  Christine is as bad as Kootie in not stepping up and defending her kids.  Even after he decided a nap was more imporatant than her sick toddler, she stood beside her "Wonderful Man".

No "have a good life" wishes from  me.

Totally agree.  I replied to someone on Reddit regarding all this stuff:

    Quote

Kody is a full blown narcissist. So is Robyn. She knew she could turn him against everyone else in the so-called family by playing on his need to be absolutely worshipped and followed.

She succeeded. And these other wives don’t get much sympathy from me. Especially Christine who forgives him for all the fucked up neglect of her children but leaves him when he won’t fuck her.

    Miss me with that bs.

Sorry, I'm a lot more trashy (?) on Reddit.  haha  I got some pretty interesting responses including one that said something like some neglect of children is to be expected to keep the peace in a marriage and another said "it's not that simple".

Seems pretty simple to me.  I would have left him a long time ago for how he neglected my children.  Sure the wives "signed up" for this rotation, but I don't think they expected him to be a negligent, distant father to their children.

Just to clarify, one doesn't need to be kosher to celebrate Hanukkah. I'm pretty sure the majority of practicing Jews in the world do not keep kosher. Here in the US, less than 1/6th of all A.erican Jews keep kosher. Just wanted to clarify. And yes, I fucking hate K'Douche, but I have no problem with non-Jews celebrating a Jewish holiday IF it's because they genuinely want to learn about other religions. But in this case, K'Douche only dies this stuff in a lame attempt to.either rile up or try to be relevant to his TV audience.

No, I understand and agree with that.  I was just saying he "celebrates" Hanukkah just as much as he was really "kosher".  Which is to say, not at all.

It's a fun thing for them, not a celebration of the actual meaning behind Hanukkah.  He just wants something to do.  I realize I'm not making much sense.

Kody said the exact same thing.  LOL.  Christine stated that each wife brought something special into the marriage and celebrating Joseph Smith's birthday was hers.  The year Robyn joined the family, Kody put a kibosh on that, and they opted to celebrate Hanukkah, instead.  I remember this clearly, because Jewish posters were outraged.

Honestly, they are all so weird.  Hanukkah just like Kody keeps kosher.  yeah, right.  Weirdos.  I'm glad their kids seem to be mostly cool.

I don't believe Robyn is a Joseph Smith follower.  Celebrating Joseph Smith’s birthday had always been a huge deal for Christine. She said that each wife brought a tradition into the family and that was hers.  After 16 years, Kody suddenly decided they were no longer going to do so, because it was “weird”.  Interestingly, it was right after Robyn joined the family.

Joseph Smith began the Mormon religion.  I would think he would factor into their belief system for that reason.  I noticed a framed picture in Robyn's house that I assumed was Moroni, though I didn't look very closely.  Having their origins in the Mormon religion, I have always assumed they recognized the same prophets.  Anyone who is in the know, please illuminate me.  I'm only guessing here.

I was raised LDS (aka mainstream Mormon) and I have NEVER heard of anyone celebrating Joseph Smith's birthday!  That is so weird.  Maybe it's an AUB(or whatever Christine was raised in)  thing.  We definitely follow Jesus and one of Robyn's "art" pieces is a sculpture that is in a lot of Mormon places so she definitely "follows" Joseph Smith in my opinion.

Link to the sculpture:  Google search of the Jesus statue common in Mormon places likes temple visitor centers, etc.

The figures above "Brown" look a lot like some are the Willow Tree figures. Lots of like "sisters at heart" and "the love of a mother and daughter" type options in that line (and available easily at Hallmark/Hobby Lobby type stores)

Yep, I agree.  I have two on my desk and I absolutely love them.  Got them at a Hallmark store too!  lol  But they look like my daughter, who is mixed, so it's hard to find stuff that looks like "her".  And one is an angel and the other is holding a cat - again, just like my daughter.

I can't imagine collecting this stuff with no personal attachment to it!  And having collections of various shit all over the place!

I don't follow Janelle enough to know that she and Savannah were living on Prairie Dog Plague Pass in an RV. Was Kodouche in those posts? Because a thought just occurred to me? What if Janelle left him and what she got was her part of that God forsaken property? And until she can build, she'll live out there in an RV when weather permits?

If Kodouche was her posts during her RV life, then nevermind.

He was in some of them.  But she could be ramping up to leaving him and the RV might be part of that.

I agree. I asked in an earlier season whether these horses become injured and lame over time. They are athletes doing unnatural, damaging repetitive motion, and surely it takes its toll.

Not only that but they are bred to be smaller than normal Quarter Horses so that they are more agile.  I abhor breeding any animal to meet human objectives.  It rarely works out well for the animal/breed.  :(  Between the smaller stature, unnatural movements, and repetitiveness it has to really be terrible for these horses in the long run.

Meri has been Meri-ing all over the place about how sad and lonely she is, how nobody loves her, how her relationships with some of the family are non-existent, etc.  Plus as you say, she's freaking QUARANTINED because no one wants to spend any time with her.  So why not stop whining and make yourself useful to the family that you claim to love?  The only reason I can think of is that Ysabel herself has issues with Meri and doesn't want her around, which is pretty believable.  I don't think Meri necessarily brings sunshine and rainbows when she darkens anyone's door.  And maybe Christine doesn't trust Meri to follow her instructions.  I know I wouldn't.

Actually, I think Ysabel is one of the few family members who follows Meri on Instagram and actually "likes" her posts.  I think it's probably more so that Meri has alienated Janell and Christine.

  17. Say what you will about Tony (and I agree he is unfortunate looking), it really speaks to me that Christine said in one of the articles about the split that she had to ask Mykelti if it was normal for marriage to be "easy".

So Mykelti and Tony seem to have a good, easygoing relationship.  Or relative to Kody and Christine's I guess, which isn't a very high bar.

It's funny, but I have never watched the show but not because I think it's "noble".  I grew up LDS and so have some ingrained fascination with plyg cults.  I heard about the show and thought maybe I'll watch it.

But when I started reading about it on TWOP, the posters and conversations were just so funny that I just kept reading.

Only a few times have I actually thought, "okay, this I've got to watch" about something people were talking about since everyone is so entertaining and descriptive!  And each time I tried, I got about 5 minutes into the part I was trying to watch (not even the whole episode) before I was thoroughly bored and kind of disgusted, for lack of a better word, at these idiots.

I just can't stand to look at them.  haha  If it's noble in any way, it's that I'd rather spend my tele time watching something that I enjoy or that at least has good looking people on it.  None of these clowns fit those requirements.

Does this mean they scrapped the remainder of the pandemic episodes and filmed more recent ones, or that Christine left many months ago?

I believe she left months ago.

In hindsight, it makes sense that this all started when Kody was removed from Christine's mortgage.  If this is the case, I really applaud her for making sure (hopefully) she gets all the benefits of that house.

I thought that it was so he could qualify with Robyn for the McMansion.  That still might have been a factor.  But it also might have been a factor when he and Robyn bought that too-big home on the heels of making everyone move to Flagstaff on the premise that they would move to Coyote Pass.

Obviously that wasn't going to happen after he and Robyn bought their gaudy home plus a plot of land next to it.

So then Christine puts the house of for sale and finds a place to rent in Utah where she stated she wanted to move last season.

She then takes a farewell vacation with the only other wife she can tolerate - Janell - and also probably so that the last two minor children from the original family can spend some time together before Christine and Truley move to Utah.

Then they come home and make the public announcement that she is, in fact, leaving Kody.

I still think there is a tiny possibility that this is all to keep the show going, but only time will tell.

I don't think Christine will marry someone else within the plyg faith. The whole point is to have as many wives and make a ton of kids. Christine is past the baby making stage. Hopefully she finds some nice LDS guy to enjoy a monogamous relationship in this stage of her life. Before Sobyn, she was the peppy one in the family.

I agree.  They all have wives to spare.  But maybe, if she leaves the show, she might find an older LDS man whose wife has passed and children are grown.  I could see her thriving in a relationship just similar enough to her religion and where she is the center of attention.

Have either of them actually said “divorce,” or are they just talking about “leaving”?  If it’s the latter, I suspect something’s up — or, I suppose, they’re admitting that what they had (at least at the end) was never anything approaching a marriage, no matter how often they said it was.

I mean, they were never legally married?  So there can't be an actual divorce.  Why would either of them use that word?  I don't think you can even have a spiritual "divorce".  It would be an unsealing or something like that.

  22. I don't think she lost any chins.  She is sitting more upright and leaning forward slightly and therefore no extra chins.

In the photo with Maddie, Janelle is standing a bit behind her which makes her look smaller.  She may not be filtering the shit out of her photos like Meri, but she is definitely using a lot of the "tricks of the trade" that photographers use to make people look better.
