I think it's gross the way Natalie, her elevator, and her fridge the size of the Taj Mahal railed against Erica's demand for better/fair wages. With her loud enthusiam and her all around annoying behavior, Melissa Rycroft Strickland reminds me of Scrappy Doo.

The problem is the false equivalencies that are being drawn here. There is no such thing as reverse racism. BIPOC in this country have been put in a position where they have had to defend themselves for hundreds of years because of systemic racism. Affirmative action has been necessary because of systemic racism. Making sure that diversity happens is necessary because of systemic racism. Since systemic racism is still a huge factor in everything, when this team is being built, it is important to take into account inclusion and representation. You look at the qualified candidates and build a squad that represents the make up of this country. If anyone believes that any of the women of color on this team are only on it to fill a quota, then that is a whole different issue that needs addressing. And I say all of this as a white woman who understands her privilege.

So, my very favorite team in all the world is the University of Louisville. My hometown. Our biggest rival is University of Kentucky. It can get petty and ugly. My passion for my Cardinals has been known to manifest itself this way every now and again. However, I will say that I unabashedly love Lily and I root so hard for her. I didn't know what to do with that at first, her being Kentucky alumni. It's different. I am getting used to it. But I do adore her. Dammit.

It was only a matter of time before one of them snapped on camera like that. Having to be so complacent and "yes ma'am" yourself to death must be exhausting. Not to mention turning your head and staying quiet when the politics of the team swirl around you. While I hate that Cianna was caught in the crossfire, I was intrigued by Julia's reaction. I feel like there is a possibility I would have reacted the same way. Not because I am unprofessional or have a horrible attitude, but because I can only take so much before I hit a wall and I lose my grace. Even knowing what it could cost me in the moment but knowing what I will retain in the long run. With the way the rest of the girls seem to feel about Julia as a person, this very well may have been what happened in this instance.
