Yep. A big hulking lout starts banging pans near your girlfriend's head to agitate her...not to mention the culmative behaviour of Josh for weeks on end. He was asking for it.
-
Josh seriously had an ass kicking coming to him when Cody confronted him with his own supersized pan/garbage lid? All episode though I kept wishing Jess would keep quite and maybe by some miracle Elena would go home....because now folks...there is NO story. It's all Paul's edicts and mandates going forward. Alex's HOH is going to be as meaningless as her last one. It'a Paul's...they'e all been Paul's. They've all voluntarily ceded power to him. The season is all but over. Also there is ZERO point in them hyping the double eviction because it always goes the SAME WAY. Whoever wins immediatly goes into conference with whoever the dominant person is of the season during the commercial break.(this season it is Paul) and will do whatever their bidding is. There is no suspense...it's some combination of Cody,Mark and Elena....why even bother. Puppets like Kevin and Jason actually trying to strategize was pathetic...don't start playing the game at the halfway point because they sucked at it. Cody needs to self evict...better to go home and be with Jess than be trapped in jury house with Josh. Julie loses points on NOT following up on Alex's insinuation that she MAY move in on Cody in the goodbye message. I hope it's true because that would be more interesting than the King Paul Show.
-
Man alive that Josh is a whack job. His final clip of the night was right back to the start of the hour....get Elena out. Then why, oh why did you let Paul and Christmas puppet you?! Why not let Cody play...it was the best bet to solidify his chance of getting E out the house? Makes no sense. Worse yet...he is HOH in name only...witness him timidly coming up to his own HOH room where Paul is sprawled out on HIS bed sleeping. Whoever on this board that said Josh was like Paul's butler...had it pegged. I can't imagine Cody in the jury house with everyone he despises...I just can't. Christmas should not have been allowed back in the game. CBS should have given her an iron clad guarantee for Next Summer or the OVER THE TOP edition...her choice and sent her packing. It's not fair that veto slots are being wasted on her when she can't compete and she's in HOH contests where she can't compete or has no chance of winning. Paul getting his way every single damn episode is killing this season...the only possible way it could be any worse is if it was Frankie Grande in his place getting his way every single damn episode...that would be beyond excruciating.
-
Color me shocked that Josh isn't proving to be as big an A-Hole as I thought he would be as HOH. In fact the surprise of the night is at that a couple of houseguests seem to finally be buying a clue that Paul is attempting to run EVERYBODY's game and there's a bit of a rebellion seeping in...to my delight. With that said though I am a bit suspicious that maybe Josh's sudden get Elena out at all costs might now be some producer manipulation in the Diary Room. Obviously the powers that be know the Cody/Jess vs Paul and his minions is the strongest thread they've got going right now and they would want to keep it up....which makes me equally suspicous about Cody's win. That was something that could easily be manipulated/fibbed by production to ensure safety. Cue the veto competition of who has the longest fake eyelashes! Alex gets the most speaking role she's had in a month! I still wish there was some way she could work with Cody. Paul, Elena and Josh all lying to each other in the HOH room was a thing of beauty. "Do you want to hug this out?" "Don't touch me!" Hands down the funniest moment of the season. CBS/VIACOM own stock in NETFLIX? What was with the not so subtle pimping of STRANGER THINGS?
-
Is it just me or are Random Chance HOH competitions not really fair? They should be Marked for Banishment TM Season 1 BB. Well, that could have ended any worse....Josh is going to be insufferable. On top of all that Paul won't even have to put his hand up you know where to make Josh his sock puppet as there is zero suspense in who will be nominated. It would take a miracle but now Cody must win the contest and guarantee himself safety, then managed to have his name pulled for veto and win the veto and take Jess of the block or vice versa with her. We need this to happen though because if not the next three weeks will be Pagonging Cody, Jess, Mark and Elena in that order unless somehow Mark or Jess win HOH coming ahead. Paul is such little shit the way he send everyone out to do his dirtywork in the back yard to stir things up. I cannot believe we have to put up with that douce for two summers in a row! I will say this about that craziness in the back yard. There is an old play that is really funny called YOU CAN"T TAKE IT WITH YOU and it climaxes in an all out crazy comic send up of madness and when I saw the insanity going down in that backyard that play came instantly to mind! Funny, Jess taking on Raven was reminiscent of what Cody did with Paul that made her blow a fuse last episode. Odd. Even odder was a random moment when we had Cody, Jess and Alex all sitting along together at the kitchen bar. I would have loved to have seen the live feed on what that was all about!
-
There's been a lot of couples on BB and most didn't have "legs" but there have been a few like Brendan and Rachel that were real and everything I saw up until tonight pointed to them perhaps having a chance beyond the house but now with people actively trying to destroy that for their own benefit that could be off the table. As said that is out of bounds.
-
I liked Ms. Blue Jay's theory that there is a part of Cody that still has the torch for Alex. You could see how much he was into her in those early episodes. It's a shame they didn't hook up. She claims not to want a showmance but tethering herself to a Paul is almost as bad. He will betray her in a heartbeat to take a goat like Josh to the end. Her and Cody as comp beasts would have been a force to be reckoned with.

All these years of BIG BROTHER that was some of the most reprehensible stuff I have ever seen. Nearly everyone that had a speaking part was WAY OUT OF LINE. First Paul, Christmas and Elena are loathsome...what they tried to do was actively kill Cody and Jessica's relationship OUTSIDE of the GAME as well. That is so far out of bounds I can't believe it. If Cody had walked in while Paul was trying to turn her against him that bearded douche would have been a bloody smear on the floor. Jess herself does not come off any better. Cody was gallantly defending her and that is how she treats him? She's worried about him yelling a Paul? AT PAUL? Everything Cody said about Paul was spot on about him...especially being a characacter on a show. Paul deserved every thing he got and more if you ask me. Then Paul goes down and stirs every body up and then DISAPPEARS and the Mark/Josh fight erupted. I would have cheered if Mark had pummeled Josh because the kid has been egging him on...practically begging for it. And then Elena shuns him too. Mark...Dom was your ride or die....I hope that's what stung the most from Josh's words....you threw her over and for what? Though silent....Jason is a scum bag....they way he was sitting their laughing about the Josh/Mark fight. I'm sick of him walking around in the Marlboro Man colors and hat. Get a new shirt already. LOL...Raven looks like hell when she wakes up. If Jess really does Paul and he houses bidding she is out of her mind and frankly as dumb as a box of rocks. In closing Cody was right....if there had been no Paul it really could have been his game with Mark as his deputy but Alison Grodner must have her pets after all!
-
I'm sorry you didn't get to see this show before without a Paul in it. Unfortunatly the worst seasons of BIG BROTHER where there is one player controlling EVERYTHING....possibly the worst example of this was about three years ago where a guy named Derrick literlly called every shot and didn't even go on the block once. It was terrible as a viewer...absolutly terrible. Before Derek there was a guy named Dan who like Paul also controlled everything but at least he lost on his second return. Dan did put the black woman Jody that was just seen as a picture on Cameron's back out on her first day in the house....but as you know from SURVIVOR...minority players making it to the end are fairly rare...in fact I can't remember who the last person of color was that made it to the final two on BIG BROTHER....Season 3 Danielle almost won and she remains a BB legend as she was done in by the fact Juries weren't sequestered at the time and they saw all her Diary Rooms and voted against her out of spite and revenge

I really hope that Cody and Jess play it smart and say NOTHING about the exact nature of the Hex. Best to leave them guessing plus it will be more exciting as a viewer watching Thursday if they don't know the whole thing is going to be brought to a screeching halt. Given the producers love for manipulating the game I well imagine they are dissapointed that the Jody has to use the Hex this week. If it could have been held off until next week then it would allow t hem to keep the rivalry going at least for longer than not this thursday but beyond the thursday of next week which in all likelihood will be the fall of either Cody or Jess. Jim Jones ordered people to their deaths but even he seemed to have less power than Paul has over these people. It's astonishing how stupid the house is that they blindly follow every order and command the guy gives. Do they all think they are going to get the chair next to him on finale night? I really, really hope that Mark got a clue when Elena was so cold to him during that one on one coversation that he was too hasty choosing her as his mate on Day 1. Hopeefully he realized now that the great connection he had with Dominique was the true one and she WOULD have been his ride or die and surely would be actively helping to get Paul out of the house where unbeknownst to him Elena will betray him at the earliest opportunity. Every week that goes by the less I like Jason. Something about him just bugs. He's like a slightly more evolved man child than Josh who is complete imbecile by the way. The editors must think we are stupid...the only reason they spent so much time showing Alex trying to decide whether to compete was that she was smoking hot in those short shorts and tank top and they were going to milk that for all it was worth. Thank you guys! Speaking of Alex in a perfect world it would be Cody, Jess, Alex and Christmas working together to take out Paul and his sheep. Unfortunatly two very smart women have chosen to allie with the bearded slimeball.
-
Oh, hell...that A-hole is going to be insufferable for the next week. The show was already all about him anyway but now at lease Alison Grodner has a bonafide reason to put all the focus on her pet. At least there is the satisfaction that he can't touch his sworn enemies Cody and Jess...but if I had to guess Mark is toast now that he's on Paul's radar. It's just as well Jess told because Kevin would have absolutly blabbed like how he did about the blindside. I miss Dominique....she was a good sport to smile cheerfully and pose in her bikini for the comp. For the life of me I can't understand all these people playing Paul's game for him. Don't they want a half million for themselves? Why are they working overtime for him? So disapointed in Ales. I remember early on the posts on here saying that she would see through him and rise up to be an opponent but she's his complete lap dog. And I REALLY liked her! What is it going to take for the house to turn against Paul? There has to be something. Frankly I think Josh is so unstable that he could be dangerous. Push the right button and he's gonna go off and get Hantzed right out of that house.
-
The thing is there is no guarantee. Who at work hasn't at least once pretended to be working but your mind is somewhere else. Who is to say a dog might just be doing what he thinks his master wants him to do but he's not really "on the trail" of a cadaver scent.. I 'm afraid its just to big of an unknown what the dog is really doing/smelling. It may be a tool but there is too big a risk that its a reliable tool.
-
Well, think how you would feel if you suddenly found yourself a murder suspect and you were innocent and having suspicion thrown on you by a dog who no one REALLY knows what they are thinking/reacting to? I'll pass!
-
Oh, Jess...I once heard a saying that your first instincts are the true one...and you had it right there and you let Cody talk you out of it! As for Cody I want to believe the only reason he really did it was because Alex was the target and perhaps he still has those latent feelings for her though we haven't even seen them interact once since coming back. Speaking of Alex it pains me to throw shade at her as she was my favorite up until the moment she aligned with loathsome Paul but honey you have no right to talk about someone wasting their HOH. You evicted Dominique? Dominique for chrissakes! What happened to splitting up couples...but nope...that's was your original game and not Paul's and now you are playing Pauls.... LOL at Matt saying what's good for his game...he has NO GAME...people can you imagine a month from now when the big guns are likely all gone and the actions or lack there of revolves around Matt and Raven? Trust me that will be as boring as it sounds. The blip to Christmas while Ramses and Jess were talking...damn that woman is cut! Of course Paul has to comment on the action in DR about the Veto....why blow the dust of Elena and Mark to hear what they have to say? Sorry but I dont' care about Jason's kid and he's deluding himself if he thinks he will be crowned the winner come September. Ending on a positive note....the casting this season was awesome when it came to a few houseguets. They have some instantly classic characters in Cody, Josh and Christmas.
-
I think "Cadaver Dogs" are junk science. I wouldn't want to have my fate hinging on some animal. Who knows what a dog is thinking in his own mind. He could simply be curious about some other smell that interests him.

Hey, like Cody or Jess or don't like them...a power shift is always fun in reality TV and this was quite the trifecta from the Hex, To the Battle Back and to HOH. Plus they are playing a much better game this time and best of all Cody still isn't believing Paul. The only problem with trying to back door Paul would be is no one would keep Ramses or Josh over him. This I think was the first time that Alex didn't even get a speaking part other than as the comp host. I'd like to get some insight on how she feels about Cody being back. There was that certain interplay between them early on where it appeared he was carrying a torch for her. Does it still burn somewhere or is he Jess all the way now? If he is with Jess this almost looks like a possible solid couple like Brandon and Rachel as opposed to one where you have an order issued against you by a judge months after leaving the house. If that fat jogger had been yelling at Josh he would have been in tears! 2000-that's how long I've been watching CBS reality TV and I think Cody completly shutting Josh down by sayinng "She doesn't have time for you." is one of my top five moments ever...right up there neck and neick with Shi Ann the She Devil winning the arm/bucket competition on SURVIVOR when she needed to. What did Paul have on his head during the Kevin body wrapping segment. For a moment I was like...who let Austin back in the house because he looked like a dead ringer from the distance....either that or Jesus....either the WALKING DEAD ONE or the DIVINE one. Matt continues to bug as he sits there like a bump on a log contributing nothing. He's starting to reminded me of Nicole's ride or die....who I forget his name now. How the heck did he get cast other than by his looks?

Well, as soon as it was announced there would be a house challenger my heart sank beause I knew in all the alternate universes theorized to exist there was not one where anyone else but PAUL was going to be the house house challenger....because everything is about Paul....everything! I have been very vocal in posts about reality shows splicing in DR/confessinals during comps because the person's demenor can tell you who won. But for once I didn't mind because I knew from Jess's first DR that Cody had won because she was too chipper. Can Cody be a pill...yes but I did not want Paul getting any satisfaction being the conquering hero who kept him back out. By the way Paul...what was not chill was YOU coming back and eating the show. The producers were probably sweating bullets at the prospect of a Cameron rentry when he was ahead. That would be the biggest flop since...who was it...Janelle maybe who let go of the thing on the side of the volcano two seconds after the comp started? Best part tongiht was Cody ignoring Josh sulking on the bench when he went to see Christmas. Anyway...let's reset this...Alex please come back from the dark side and team up with Cody....I bet he still loves you...and turn on Paul.

I liked that too. I wish it could be possible. I'd love to see them team up and take down Paul early in the season so we could have most of August without his blight on the house. If only Jess had used the halting hex tonight then that scenario could have played out with Cody most likely coming back. Nah. Evil Dick who was admittadly a producer's pet dumped ice tea all over his rivals head and he lived to puppeteer another day. That was man on woman "violence" and they let that stand but god forbid Chima throw a $300 microphone in the pool and she's got to ousted from the game. -

Honestly does anyone want to see duds like Jillian or Cameron wasting space in the Big Brother house? We already have that with Matt, Raven and Ramses. I don't believe that Jess really won the vote...especially as no proof is ever offered...her winning fits the narrative as they are likely planning the Battle Back so it favors Cody. If they get Cody back in then they can pick up the Cody/Jess story and keep it prolonged by giving Jess the power to save her or Cody whenevr they might find themselves on the block seperatly or together. The best case scenario would have been Jess using it tonight. That would reset the board. Jess stays, Dom stays and the producers manipulate Cody back into the house as he will likely would handily beat Cameron and Jillian. Then we'd have a pretty much a do over for the season and this time Paul would NOT be safe (until Alison whips out some new shenanigan to save him) but no....I'm sure in the DR they were pressuing her not to use it. Josh is the most over grown baby I've seen on a reality show since Luke of Margie/Luke on the AMAZING RACE. Alex HOH is ending and it wasn't really even hers....it was all Paul. Why is he so threatened by Dom? And of course the final cut away with all the cameras in the house has to focus on Paul starting to Puppet master against Jess. I do hope Cody comes back just to rally against Paul. Mark not even giving a pity vote or showing any emotion when voting out Dom was dissapointing....I always thought there was more going on there them him looking at her as a sister as he claimed. -
I despise Paul and no amount of satisfaction at seeing him booted (which with all present and future gimmicks Alison Grodner cooks up to protect him from that is very unlikely) will make up for the fact that he ATE the show this summer. This was a good cast and without him in it...it probably would have been awesome but no....he's being shoe horned in to everything....he has to narrate everything, he has to host the comps, he has more talking heads than everyone else....ENOUGH! It's sickening...and now he's ruined my favorite player ALEX by getting her to drink his damn koolaid.
-
Paul is without a doubt one of the most loathsome, vile reality show contestants ever. Sitting their dressed up a like a snake, strutting around making all the noise he wants to because he is still PROTECTED BY ALLISON GRODNER! Dom completly has his number....she's 100% right but no one can see it. Meanwhile the producers fearing that someone might wake up and smell the roses next week and target Paul are trying to paint her as a fanatic in the editing job they are doing on her. In fact it would not surprise me that in the DR production might even have "suggested" to Paul to target Dom because let's face it...if their likely plan to ensure Cody comes back works....what is the point of it if Jessica is not there for them to be a team. That ruins that storyline so Dom has to go and she might have been an easy target for some production who may not like a god fearing woman. You can call it a tin foil hat theory but I wouldn't be surprised. Worst part about this is now I have to actively root AGAINST Alex who was my favorite but now that she's just a puppet of Paul or whatever producers are controlling him I have to hope things don't go her way. It's a terrible predicament. She's playing Paul's game. If she were playing her own she would be breaking up more couples instead of targeting the unattached Dom. Lastly this whole thing with Christmas is just dumb. They knew she couldn't do the comp so she shouldn't have been allowed to have a chip in the bag. But I suppose if the producers want Dom out then why risk Mark getting the chip. If slots in the veto keep getting wasted on Christmas this is going to get old fast.

You can't still work out, lift weights, etc with a broken and eventually healed foot? I think it might be premature to write off Christmas entire future.. * -
S19.E09: Den of Temptation #3; Nominations #3
North of Eden replied to FormerMod-a1's topic in Past Seasons
Damn it all...now Paul has taken away my favorite player....Alex! It's very disheartening that she wants to go to the final 2 with him....no sickening is a better word. Worse yet it looks likely that Paul is going to be pupeteeering the nomininations each week for the the rest of the season. There was no need for him to narrate blow by blow the HOH competition. None. Y'know ever since I saw a shot of Dominique kind of playing with one of Mark's hands while they were talking to someone I wondered if there would come a day when Elena would be jealous. Dom seemed to allude to that to Alex but for some reason that was what Alex used as an excuse to do Paul's bidding. How old was that filler? Alex's hair looked much blonder when they were doing the Raven medical bit. Don't worry Christmas you will recover in time to be next season's Paul as the returnee. I' d almost put money on it. Matt...wow..just wow...what a dud. Won't be long now before he is getting a Vicotoria edit where he disapears for whole episodes. So yeah, I love Alex but if she won't listen to reason from Jason and does Paul's bidding then I can't get behind her anymore...so i've got nobody to root for now. -
Three things make this a much more enjoyable episode...no make that four. First and foremost Cody voicing the greatest truth of the season by actually using the word CHEAT...and yes it is indeed cheating by the shows own producers. They wanted Paul back and they were going to ensure that he stay for at least three weeks. We are told America voted that to be the case but there was zero proof presented anywhere that this was the case. They can tell you any narrative they want to and we are suppose to believe it...well Cody called it like it was. Second the most minimal screen time for Paul this season! Third Ramses actually getting some votes instead of a sheep mentality of block voting that is the bane of reality shows. Four...Alex and her penchant for tank tops....no need to eleborate on that! Please let Alex win the HOH. She can't take out Paul but sending a chief allie packing would be the next best thing. Cody gave the best Diary Rooms....you know why? Because he was being an honest and real person in them. After years of idiots screaming at the top of their lungs acting like they have room temparature IQS when speaking (Johnny Mac) or pretending to do Air Guitars or a litany of other foolishness it was refreshing to see REAL diary room entries with no scripted jokes etc. Can CBS/BIG BROTHER get rid of Big Jeff and let Dominique do the interviews from now on. Big Jeff and so far beyond played out it isn't funny. Girls's got charisma where he's got ZERO!

Well said an a good summation of what has happened and what needs to happen.
