Reading the things above complicates the Tiffany case more, but I wouldn't say I'm convinced it was suicide. The theft and stressful situations beforehand seem as much like potential suicide impetuses as they do lead up to murder. And the CPS report makes me not rule out the mom either.

I wonder if it was simply an accident. If she was charging around the woods upset she might simply fallen backwards on the tracks knocked herself out and was still lying there when the train came through. She could have lost the head band and shoes walking in those trees. Or it is possible they flew off when the train hit her. Its actually fairly common for people who get hit by trains to lose their clothes completely. Plus its sounds like the shoes were ballet flats which fall off in a stiff breeze anyway.

One thing about it being murder or an attack is her hands were intact and there were no defensive marks found. Nothing under her fingernails, no scratches or broken nails. Two autopsies and they found nothing.

I was just reading an article titled, "The Rings of Power Fans Still Shipping Galadriel and Halbrand After Season Finale", and there was this interesting quote:

So it seems like they are trying to take moments from the Peter Jackson trilogy and writing scenes on this show that re-contextualizes it.  That shows a little about how the writers are making some of their story decisions.

Yeah it also takes away from Tolkien's (and Jackson's) intent that it subvert the biblical scene of Eve biting the apple. Tolkien never agreed with the idea that woman are weaker and deliberately wrote Galadriel's temptation to subvert that. By having Galadriel's whole arc this season revolve around being tricked by a man these idiots have reinforced that trope. Actually if you take into account Muriel being blinded and now in Elendiel's care, Nori leaving everything behind to follow Gandalf and Bronwyn riding off with Arondir you argue the whole show is saying women are better off being taken care of by a man. How very Mormon of them.

I think I will need to wait until the first couple episodes air before I decide to watch next season or not. If they have Galadriel trying to cover up for Sauron or its all about him "seducing" her I may be out. If I wanted to watch a show where "strong" female characters are trashed to prop up shitty men I would have watched House of Dragons.

Who says they werent there first? I think that's what the show is going for and it's best aspect to it so far. They flipped the script in that after Adar was captured it was Galadrial who almost seemed evil with her talk of total genocide against the Orcs and making him watch. Is he talking about wiping humanity or elves off the face of the Earth? His goal appears to have been creating a place with little sunlight so his people could come out of the caves.  Is that so bad really? Are we so sure that the Southlanders are such good people? Didnt they align with pure evil previously? Didnt half the village just throw in with what they might have thought was Sauron?

The ambiguity is good touch to the story even though we know exactly where things end up once Sauron emerges.

The ambiguity ends though when you realize Orcs are cannibalistic and people are one of their main food groups. Ultimately Orcs will never be able to live side by side peacefully with the rest of the people of Middle Earth. That's not to say they are inherently evil but like the Balrog or Shelob they were created to hurt and kill other beings. Letting the Orcs  just settle in Mordor would be like trying to raise a pack of wolves next to a flock of sheep.

    3. Yes, Halbrand's reputation among Southlanders doesn't make sense. And travel to Lindon should take weeks/months, not sure that seriously injured Halbrand can make it(probably another teleportion between locations) unless he is really Sauron.

The Southlanders loving Halbrand makes sense if you think about it from their perspective. They all probably think he brought the Numenorians back to save them. They don't know Galadriel practically had to drag him there. They just know he showed up and it meant they didn't get eaten by orcs. His arrival also means they might not be under the elves thumb any more. From the Southlanders perspective I can see them seeing him as a saviour.

I also wonder if their journey might take them past the Greenwoods. If it might be Galadriel who takes out the wierdo cultists and Gandalf saves Halbrand in exchange. The books do reference that Galadriel is one Gandalf's oldest friends and uses his original name.

The Islildur fakeout might be forgivable if it has lasting political consequences for Numenor. If "losing" Isildur causes Elendiel to take Pharazon's side over Muriel's it could indirectly cause Numenor's downfall. Numenor being destroyed being Isildur's fault would be rather poetic.

I also wonder if Isildur may end up being captured. That's what most likely happened to Celeborn and they could setting up bringing him in by having Isildur being taken to the same holding cell.

I gripe that someone who is 3000+ years old at this point remains unable to not be a tactless, abrasive ass in moments where some diplomacy is needed.

They should have just made up a new female elf character, used the same actress, given her all the same lines, had her act the same way etc.  That would also have the advantage of stripping away the plot armor from the character.  Every time they try to put Galadriel in danger (like at the end of this episode) it inspires nothing other than big yawns because she can't die because of plot armor.

Thranduil was even older and an even bigger ass for most of the Hobbit. Legolas was pretty haughty for most of the Fellowship. Yet its Galadriel who is "unlikable" funny that. What flaws should Galadriel have had exactly? Cuz being an arrogant prick is a pretty standard one for elves ( and princesses for that matter).

Last time someone tried to create an original female elf we got Tauriel, nuff said. Plus all the fans would have wanted to see Galadriel anyway. TPTB were alway dammed if they did and dammed if they didn't with her character. Either she is flawless and casual fans find her boring and outdated. Or she is flawed and it ruins all the diehards fantasies. I think in catering to more casual fans they have made the right choice especially since Galadriel's cannon is particularly messy anyway.

I maintain that men who act like Galadriel does in the show, for similar reasons, are often treated with more understanding and often admiration on social media. You are certainly extending a lot of effort and understanding towards sympathizing with an elf, a uruk (as they prefer to be called)  who has choosen and evil path at the expense of the female dwarf who has been fighting that evil.

Yeah a really great example of misogyny in fandom is the debate surrounding Galadriel's ducking arrows by sliding down over the side of her horse. Apparently its "unrealistic" except those types of moves are are pulled off by normal humans and Galadriel is an elf with magic powers. I literally saw a woman do pretty much the same thing at a rodeo once. According to my Uncle who won several silver buckles at the Calgary Stampede for his riding skills (and was the reason we were at the rodeo in the first place) those tricks are actually easier for women because we are generally smaller and the difference in our center gravity makes balancing and getting back up onto the horse easier. The misogyny is real and rampant.

Frankly a lot of the complaints I find are routed in traditionally female expectations like her lack of social skills. (Its actually rather refreshing that Halbrand is the smooth talker of the two). There is also a lot of complaints about her not matching Galadriel in the Lord of the Rings but she is thousands of years older there. It would be weirder if she was the same person. There is also a lot of griping that just sounds TPTB have ruined their hot docile elf chick fantasies more than any real criticism.

I think they need to introduce Celeborn pretty soon...I'm starting to ship Halbrand and Galadriel together a bit (...assuming he's not Sauron, which I'm still hoping he's not). My vote is for Halbrand to be one of the nazgul or possibly that ghost king who ends up fighting alongside Aragorn (I don't remember the details so please tell me if that's not an option).

Is Celeborn a fairly blank slate as far as canon goes? Despite posting in the book threads, I'm not all that knowledgeable of Tolkien. I know enough about the lore and world that posting here seems safest, but know none of the specifics that many of you do.

I'd like Isildur's friend (Otamano?) who didn't enjoy battle but likes horses to go off with his fiance and found Rohan.

I thought it was a bit odd that Miriel summoned Halbrand and was just like "here's your king" without having a conversation with him about it. And that all the people were like "yay! A king!" No one has questions about where the heck he's been? Maybe in story they already know, but it seems odd they wouldn't recognize him then.

Yeah I don't think Halbrand is Sauron either. Why would he save Galadriel in the first place? Why would he be developing this emotionally intimate relationship with her? Why save Elendil? Its also a little obvious at this point.

Also the idea that Sauron is possessing Halbrand without him knowing it doesn't fit with how he operates. Sauron can shape shift but he doesn't possess people that's Voldemort. Sauron being a spirit now would be a departure from Tolkien's story even further than anything else they have done.

One thing about Halbrand being the King of the Dead is that the Southlands are in the wrong place. The mountains Aragorn enters are on the other side of Rohan. Its possible the kingdom moves given what just happened but it does seem rather far away. There is also the fact that while Ilsidur is the one who curses that king It would have been Elendil how called for Halbrand's help. I don't see Halbrand ignoring a call for help from Elendiel since he saved his life when he was stranded. That's what that nod was about in the episode.

Also while Ontamno's talk about going home was cute and very Samwise like it also moves him higher up the death watch list. Talking about after the war this early almost guarantees you won't see it.

I also agree with statements that they could use someone to work on the dialogue sometimes it works but when its bad its really bad.

I think that bolded part can be problematic, for people who know timeline of Second Age or remember from Fellowship movie part where Gandalf found Isildurs' scroll, that we are at more than 3000 years since start of Second Age. If only thing Galadriel found since then was strange mark which she couldn't decrypt without Númenor's library, it is not difficult to believe that other elves will dismissed her as obssessed with Sauron. Without evidence for centuries, it is not hard to believe that others will ignore Galadriel. And it is not helping that Galadrielis writen as character without any people's skill.

This is of course undermined by Gil-Galad when he admitted to Elrond that if they will not have mithril, Middle-earth will be ocuppied by army of darkness. So if you know that Sauron is still threat and not obsession of Galadriel, then why you are sending her away and removing elves from Southland.

I think Gil-Galad saw that Galadriel was his downfall not the elves. I think he saw his death at Saurons hand and due to the convoluted nature of prophecy Galadriel is a big part of the story. Although I suppose Galadriel is bringing Isildur to Middle Earth so the prophecy isn't necessarily wrong. Gil-Galad is trying stop a speeding train he just hasn't realised it yet.

I also think Sauron is already in Lindon and is certainly behind the dying of the light and is exerting influence on Gil-Galad. Sauron might have even encouraged him to get rid of Galadriel. I suspect Annatar (Saurons Elven Avatar) will be revealed in the finale. ( If their are any major actors who were cast but haven't shown up yet that's probably who it is.) Sneaking in to the inner circle in Lindon while his minions raise hell in the Southlands would be a solid strategy.

That's an easy she will just match with the hospital that they go to most often. I do wonder if they aren't making her acting Captain to set up Hen using her MD to work with the LAFD. There are a few RL examples especially in big cities like LA. I'm sure they will arrange for Hen to work out of the 118 in whatever new capacity they can make up.

The mithril story is 100% a Sauron trick. That story was probably planted eons ago for just this eventuality.

Yeah the mithril story is a total smoke screen. I'm still not sure if its Gil-Galad smoke screen or Sauron's. Suaron is totally the reason the tree is dying though. I'm just not sure how much Gil-Galad is aware of. One thing to note is that the ring of power Galadriel receives is made of mithril.

Let's say Galadriel is currently someone who couldn't even have a civil conversation with someone before making rude demands.  They still need to reconcile with the fact that she is supposedly this very old being with life experience, not a brash teenager.

Galadriel is actually acting very much like someone deep in the throes of PTSD, which does often cause shifts in personality. I don't think that its that she hasn't learned how to be nice I think she been operating on survival mode for so long she doesn't remember. She barks orders at everyone because its the only way she has communicated for an age. She is the soldier who can't stop fighting because it the only thing she knows. Its not a new story (especially since 9/11) and Tolkien touched on it with Frodo in particular but giving this arc to a women does make it somewhat different. I do think if a male character acted the way Galadriel has been reactions would be different sadly.

  12. I think the Stranger is Gandalf too. One thing to note is that when Gandalf show up in Middle Earth he already speaks the language and immediately starts talking to the elves. Which does suggest either he was much better prepared for the journey or he had been there before.

Galadriel and Haldir do have fantastic chemistry.  I do wonder where her husband is though or if they are not married yet or just on a break right now. Why do I get the feeling Celebor will show just as Haldir makes a move? Or possibly Haldir's wife who he left for dead. If Theo was a little fairer I might wonder if Haldir was Bronwyn's AWOL ex. Its unlikely Haldir and Bronwyn would produce a kid as brown as Theo though it is possible.

Either way I don't see a happy ending. They are an elf and a man its doomed and they know it. It could be really fun on the way down though. I don't think Haldir is Sauron but rather the Witch King of Agnar.  I think spending time with Galadriel (one of the great magicians of the age) might be how someone earns a name like the Witch King of Agnar. It also puts an interesting wrinkle in why Galadriel was so interested in his resurrection when she was on the white council.

This exemplifies the problem I have with the marketing of this show.  If someone expresses a criticism of this show, their words can be twisted around and they can be called a racist.  That is the nature of the political process and this show has been politicized.

I recommend you read the September 7 statement.  I posted it upthread.  I know to some people it is an act of defiance against an onslaught of relentless racism.  To me it is a ploy by a multi-multi-billion dollar corporation to use race to divide people and avoid dealing with legitimate criticism about this show.  Just in the last 24 hours Amazon got caught removing 1-star reviews from its website and was forced to add them back.

The problem with this is it is simply your interpretation of events. There is no real proof its just what you think Amazon is doing. Removing and restoring reviews could just mean they still working on their standards for posting. The statement was meant to address the review bombing which I saw myself. I don't see any evidence of any being mislabeled as a racist, either here or elsewhere. I have seen the early reviews on imdb which used the N-word more than most rappers. I have also remember the other review bombing campaigns for things like Captain Marvel. Their has been a racist reaction to the show Amazon has done well to address that. I think the fan criticism may be being dismissed more as you can't please everyone than any political agenda. Networks almost never address fan criticism, the show runners might but Networks usually don't. I'm not sure what you want them to do here? Beg for forgiveness from Tolkien fans everywhere.

I've already answered this, but no, it isn't. This isn't "colorblind" casting and it's only become common somewhat recently. It is a conscious attempt to create a diverse cast, a cast that the producers themselves said they wanted to resemble "our world", not the world it was originally set in. That isn't necessarily a problem, but unlike the other technique it is very visible. For example, if you have a show about Vikings and a quarter of those Vikings are POC, people are going to notice.

As I said, with all of this happening in both fictional worlds and historical "To some people this may feel performative, or pedantic, or too obvious an intrusion of modern sensibilities." That doesn't make them racist or hypocritical.

The producers have have stated that "cast the best people for the roles" which is the pretty much the definition of color blind casting.

Its fundamentally racist to insist that historical Europe and fantasy based there should be completely white. For one its not accurate and has only been shown that way previously because of racist assumptions about the past. A classic example is any Spanish ambassador to the Tudor court. In almost all depictions he is a white guy with a Spanish accent when in fact there were several during the Tudor era who were of Moorish ancestry and at least one of Jewish descent. There have been black people in England since Roman times. There was a black family who were court entertainers for generations in England. I could literally list dozens of examples of people of color who were erased from history. So complaining about fantasy not being lily white is supporting racist ideas and tropes even if its not the initial intent. This falls under the unconscious bias definition of racism. Where you are responding to and enforcing prejudices in the world around without realizing it.

For another insisting on white only or even majority white adaptions also enforces racism because it excludes POC from roles and opportunities. It simply exacerbates the problem rather than offers any kind of solution. One thing we have learned in the last 50 years is that having diversity in media helps normalize diversity IRL.

I also feel like in general complaining about diverse casting not a valid criticism in fantasy it more a personal wank. To put it bluntly its a you problem not a show problem. Your essentially complaining the show does not match the picture in your head.  Which isn't really a solid critical argument or a reasonable expectation. That's half the reason the show isn't catering to "Tolkien Purists" they would never be happy with someone else's vision any way.

As for what Tolkien would have thought he may not have been a modern man but definitely believed in working together regardless of our differences.  Lord of the Rings was also rather diverse for its day. He included Jewish influences (Dwarvish has deliberate Hebrew roots and their several Jewish influences on the development of his Dwarfs) and Romani (Harfoots) and various Celtic influences. He even had plans for an African equivalent in Middle Earth. I think his reaction would be less upset and more chagrined he hadn't thought of it himself.

But then how about some equality? Women can be abusers and commit sexual assault as well. Ask a male bartender how grabby women can get when they have a few. I believe the only Marvel product to have something approaching that was Ms. Marvel with the abusive mother.

But I love Jen equating catcalling and mansplaining to murder (hope no one tells her almost 80% of homicide victims are male). She says that to the guy who was severely abused by his father. Who had to watch his abusive father murder his mother. That the reason Hulk comes out via anger and why he is a separate entity is all tied to Bruce's childhood trauma. That Bruce gets blamed for everything Hulk does and often has to live in hiding or being hunted by the army. But yes Jen, mansplaining is more horrifying and dangerous than anything Bruce ever went through.

Bruce's abusive backstory doesn't seem to be a part of the MCU actually. There were some vague hints in the first movie but no actual confirmation. Or at least Jen doesn't seem to know about it. If she did you would have think it would have come up at some point. Like when she took Bruce apart when she was trying to leave. It could be a family secret but it seems like at the very least Jen doesn't know about any abuse and neither does the world at large.

    ALL OF THIS^^^^^^

The stories start with "Well, she may have been beautiful, but you know what they say..." and then go on from there. She was cheating on her husband, running from the law, was never really a Muslim, and on an on. In homogenous communities, just the fact that she wasn't born and raised there is probably enough to set tongues wagging, especially when she's left behind a small child and her something of a firebrand husband...

Yeah that makes a lot of sense. Although you would think with all the chaos of Partition the truth, that she had been attacked and killed would have been a possibility even to the gossips. In any kind of mass migration like that families will get separated. The idea that Aisha got lost in the crowd and then attacked is all too plausible.

I do think like Muneeba said her mother's eccentricities played into the rumors. Add to that her father leaving and you can see how it would add up to the whole family being seen as odd.

I agree.  I think there's a lot of misdirect going on in this episode.  For example, I think that the shot we had towards the end with Kreps in the bar and turning and looking at Cinda...  I wouldn't be surprised if they do the same shot next week and pan a little farther back and there's Poppy standing a few feet back.  Is "the smartest woman in the world" Cinda, or is it Poppy?  Or someone else all together?

I did love the reveal that Rose was impersonating Lenora.  I only feel about 1/2 off on my speculation that Lenora and Rose were the same person.  They were, sort of...   But I truly don't understand why there was a fake painting.

A few things that didn't make sense...  Charles' father's watch - ok, that was good sleuthing to open it up.  But why would anyone put an address in the inside of a watch?  I could understand a love inscription, to keep it secret (instead of just inscribing the back of the watch like normal).  But who would inscribe an address?  And what are the chances the same person would live there after all this time?  And Kreps' moonlighting in Oklahoma.  Yeah, I'll buy the Coney Island job, and taking cases with other departments.  But he's getting paid enough by an OK department to pay for flights, hotels, etc.?  I'm not buying that.  If it was murder in New Jersey, yeah, ok.  But not OK.

I can't wait for next week, but at the same time, I don't want it to be over...

If the case was as big as it appears the family may have hired Kreps privately. Plenty of cops moonlight as private detectives, the "overtime" reference could be a figure of speech. The families in cases like these often receive donations and sometimes groups like churches or other charities will cover those sorts of costs. Its a bit odd they would choose an apparently mediocre detective like Kreps but perhaps the reputation of NYPD homicide cops (generally considered one of the best in the country) convinced them.

I always thought Cinda was behind it. I think her first podcast was a success based on a lie and anything after it wasn't as successful. Until our trio came along. So once the first mystery is solved she decides to prolong her success. By framing Mabel for murder.

As for why Mabel hasn't been arrested most police departments wouldn't arrest her or even investigate on the video alone. There have been too many cases of those being faked. Until glitter guy comes in to file a complaint or turns up in hospital they will just add it to a file most likely. They could also just be waiting to arrest her for murder and use it against her but with these cops I doubt it.

It's going to be really disappointing if she somehow winds up being the downfall of Pope, after the Codys have evaded prosecution by much more competent law enforcement. And yet that's what I fear is in store.

With only six episodes left, the show is going to be hard pressed to tie the flashbacks up with any sort of meaningful closure.

The only way that happens is if she accidentally stumbles across some other Cody crimes while she has him under surveillance. After this long and as complicated as Catherine's history was with Pope they could find his dna on the body and all his lawyer would have to say is that she was alive when Pope left and Baz killed her after. No DA is going to try this case even if they had film of Pope suffocating her.

I wonder if we aren't headed to more of a Soprano's style life goes on ending. Rather than go out in blaze of glory the boys go their separate ways. Pope moves on with his skate park, Craig his family, Deran goes off to Bali to be with his love and Jay takes over the legitimate business. It would speak to the shows overall theme about the cycle of abuse and addiction and how it keeps on going.

It would depend on where the prison is in Russia but Yuri's plane would only make about a thousand miles so the prison is probably pretty far east by Russian standards. The time difference would only be about 6-7 hours depending on if Hawkins is in the eastern or central. Plus if the prison is fairly far north the night would be a lot longer that time of year. Judging by the amount of snow I would say it fairly close to the Artic circle. I don't think it necessarily an error in any case.

I think they've established that the upside down creatures don't like heat, which explains why they wouldn't be pouring out into Hawkins in Spring/Summer.

Maybe? That's the conclusion the gang arrived at, but we don't really have any idea how it works. Which may have been something Vecna goaded them into when he taunted Nancy.

Why this ritual? Why these victims? Do they need to be teens suffering from guilt or is that just Vecna's preference? Does he need to do the long mind games first, or is he just doing that because he wants to?

It's possible that there was something special about the victims and that he needed them specifically to open the gates, in which case they played directly into his hands by using Max as bait.

I feel like the whole curse/ritual part was under explained/investigated for such a key part of the plot.

In D&D there'd be some ancient magical text to explain things and how Vecna figured out the ritual, but here it's apparently just ... "I dunno, he's using his science powers, and he's doing it this way because it's his jam, and he knows it's going to take exactly 4 because, uh ... yeah."

My theory is that the kids themselves didn't matter we did see him pick the third victim he did seem to consider a couple of adults first. I think he sees younger people as easier to exploit. I also suspect he is fairly emotionally immature from growing up in a lab and he probably relates to younger people more easily in general.

I don't really care about the exact mechanics behind the upside down I think the mystery is better. I watch the show for the characters. I can see Henry/One/Vecna experimenting with his powers and having an idea of the power he would need to open a gate. It does raise the question of scale and his powers in contrast to El' s though. She can open a gate fairly easily. So does that means she is stronger than him overall? Or just better at that particular skill? More questions for next season.

I think the whole point of the flashbacks is to show that Pope AND Julia never really had a chance.   It’s one thing to know Smurf was a shit parent but It’s another to see the outright  effort she took in blocking any chance they had at. something other then the life she wanted for them.

Its also good to get to know more about Julia. She was just cipher before another victim of Smurf. At least now we have a sense of her personality and it explains a bit about Jay. Like the fact that his new girlfriend looks just like her probably has something to do with his attraction.

This girl also seems like she needs rescuing and that plays into Jay's brand of mommy issues nicely too. Plus Jay is addicted to chaos in his own way that's half the reason he sticks with his Uncles. Lark not bringing any drama to the table worked against her in the end.

Amy popping up again is interesting. She and Pope were many shades of fucked up but that would be true of anyone willing to get involved with Pope.

The character they did a real disservice to was Joyce. In Season 1, it's Joyce's devotion and overprotectiveness of Will is what drove her to find him. This season, she has no clue that Will is troubled, that El is having problems at school and that Jonathan is a stoner. She leaves them behind on a lark to go to the USSR to find a guy she sorta dated. Showed hardly any concern about what might be happening to her kids while she was gone.

Yeah I'll give her a pass on not contacting the boys since it was really only the one day and then she spent the rest of the time running for her life. I don't think we saw enough to say how much Joyce actually knew about Angela and the whole school situation. Its entirely possible she knew a fair but and it just wasn't addressed. The one teacher did say they would need to talk after break so its possible the school hadn't contacted her about and El was lying to Joyce like she did Mike.

Not noticing what was up with Jonathan was a bit egregious though especially since Joyce is a former flower child who probably smoked a fair bit of weed herself back in the sixties. I assumed for the first couple episodes that Joyce knew what Jonathan was up but realized its harmless and so is letting him get away with it. (Much like his sleepovers with Nancy last year.) The dinner scene make it seems like she is clueless though which does seem out of character.

That super bugged me, since I interpreted Nancy's instant dive after Steve to be about Barb - she lost one friend to the Upside Down because of inaction/not paying attention, and like hell is she letting it happen ever again. Vecna targeting her guilt over Barb seemed to confirm that too.

Steve is my favorite character, but I would really rather not see him and Nancy together. IDK why, but Nancy is extremely shippable with all the "older teen" characters, though. Pretty sure Nancy's straight, but there's some chemistry between her and Robin, and even Eddie seems slightly attracted to her, and that doomed newspaper kid was definitely very into her

Yeah upon rewatch I agree with you. For Nancy that moment was more about Barb than Steve. I think Eddie misinterpreted it. He is a 19 year old and judging by his interactions with Chrissy not all that experienced at love himself.

I think the idea of Steve and Nancy annoys me less than the idea that Steve deserves Nancy because he is just such a"nice guy". Its just such a gross retrograde incel idea. Nancy shouldn't have to be with Steve because its what Steve wants. Or because fans like Steve better. Men aren't entitled to their dream girl just by showing basic human kindness and decency. If the show goes this route with Nancy who has had the strongest feminist arc I would be very disappointed.

I don't know if Vecna is the sole intelligence behind the upside down. I have always assumed the upside down itself has its own intelligence and it learns and grows from everyone that enters it. I mean why would Vecna know or even care what's in Nancy's diary? I feel like there must be something else at work there. I do wonder if Vecna sent the Demogorgen to reach out to El in the mind space. If he was trying to reach out or even attack her.
