  1. Rachel's got shorter hair. Now only if Rachel W. would get shorter airtime.
  2. Victoria and her mother may have thought that "she learned all there is to learn" from a given studio, but there was likely so much more to learn if she was open to critiques. I studied piano for 19 years, and I only changed teachers once. That was when my teacher actually told me that I had outgrown her and gave my mother recommendations for another teacher. Somehow, I just don't see that being the case with Victoria. Sadly, I believe the long-term plan is for Victoria to replace Kitty as the DCC technical coach. Go ahead and get yourselves up from the floor where you collapsed laughing because I used "Victoria" and "technical coach" in the same sentence. My prediction is that Kitty will retire once Victoria has finished her DCC tenure as a cheerleader. It will be something along the lines of, "She deserves the job of technical coach because she's been preparing for this since birth."
  3. "It's Season 2. Those eps aren't on Amazon and they took them off of CMT." That was the year they took 37 and kept Loni, right?
  4. Yes! Hell froze over, pigs started flying, parallel lines now intersect, teenagers across the nation put down their phones, I actually finished my shampoo and conditioner at the same time, AND... Victoria Kalina was cut from training camp.
  5. When Victoria gains too much weight to fit into the uniform, Kelli will make her Point and declare a new DCC tradition that Point gets a special uniform, which includes a long, flowing top. The Point girl will also be featured in her special uniform on the cover of that year's calendar.
  6. Jalyn to Victoria: "This is a great ab exercise that really helped me to strengthen my core when I was working on my turns." Victoria to Tina: "MOOOOMMMMMMYYYYYY! Jalyn said that my turns are horrible and that I need special exercises for my abs. She was so mean." Tina to Kelli: "You have a toxic mean girl on your team. Jalyn was horrible to Victoria. She told her that she didn't know how to turn and no amount of abdominal exercises would ever strengthen her core because she is so fat." Kelly to Judi: "I'm going to cut Jalyn tonight. She's causing major problems in the locker room with her mean girl statements. She's made several of our Training Camp Candidates burst out in tears". Jalyn at home: "Alexa, play Carly Simon's "You're so vain" in honor of a certain person whose name I am not allowed to say."
  7. Jalyn was my favorite rookie as well last year. Even if she had an "off" day, I will never, ever believe that she was cut from SG due to her dancing. Hey Siri, set an alarm for when MTT shows an undoctored scene for the announcement of Victoria making SG. Siri replies, "Setting alarm for never." Let me guess... She didn't kiss the ring?
  8. Based on this logic, someone who is a subpar dancer could make Show Group because it doesn't take much for her to improve/move forward. Meanwhile, a great dancer has a much harder time making Show Group because her improvement will be much more subtle.
  9. Season 2 Victoria had the wrong last name to get away with disrespecting Kelli's directive on weight management.
  10. I agree that it's great to have one of the judges say VK did well in her SG audition. I disagree with the redemption hashtag. I don't view dancing well in SG audition as redemption because my disappointment in last season was less about her dancing and more about her behavior. I was appalled to see her throw Jinelle under the bus during the office meeting that was shown on MTT. No amount of great dancing for SG audition this season will compensate for bad behavior last season.
  11. Maybe the 18th spot is actually a second dance space for Victoria since she struggles with staying in her own space when she only has one?
  12. If Kelli and the DCC organization (as the employer) don't want a toxic environment, then perhaps they should re-think giving orders that mandate everyone on the team (the employees) to edit their communication - social media posts, conversations with family/friends, sleep talking - for the purpose of protecting one sacred TCC. I've managed a lot of people in my adult life, including hundreds of employees in all-female gym/spa establishments, and if I had ever verbalized a requirement that everyone alter their communication to protect one singled-out employee, then I could only blame myself for the toxicity that would result.
  13. Not too long ago, we were discussing Jalyn as a contender for point in future years. She was in the rookie triangle, Show Group as a rookie, and a rookie who caught my eye time-and-time again. Now, we learn she didn't even make Show Group. So, unless she personally walked up to every judge and flipped them the bird during Show Group auditions, then I will not accept this decision as anything less than B.S.
  14. Any predictions on how long it takes for Show Group to become a One-Woman Show?
  15. Love, love, love Jalyn! She was one of my favorite rookies because of her dancing. These photos now show her natural beauty as well. Ashlee is absolutely stunning! I loved her story last season as a rookie, and I love that she brings a completely different life experience to the team.
  16. Thanks @sleepyjean for your stellar investigative efforts! I agree that Bridget's ability to laugh at herself just makes me love her even more. Also, regarding the age debate and leadership as discussed in other posts, I think that leaders come in all ages. Lacey was in leadership roles younger than Bridget is now.
  17. There seems to be radio silence from DCC on my other favorite rookie (besides Bridget) from this last season, Jalyn. We saw nothing of Jalyn's audition solo, virtually no calendar shots, nada. Unless I missed it? Anyone see, hear, imagine any updates on Jalyn? Bueller, Bueller, ...?
  18. Probably not, since competitive cheer doesn't have a lyrical category.
  19. I'm soooooooo happy to see Khalyn as an All-Star. I was sad she retired and thought we'd seen the last of her dancing. I'm thrilled she will still be around. Love the others too, and obviously Lacey is perfect for AS.
  20. Hey Kitty Carter, how do you like them apples? If an individual chooses to be filmed for national television, then that individual chooses to be critiqued, even at 18-years-old. You don't want to be "lambasted by social media," as you say? Then, stop acting like an entitled brat on national television.
  21. Well, I guess we know one veteran who is safe: Brennan. They couldn't possibly cut VK's boot buddy.
  22. Will you marry me?!?! :-)))) Move over Kitty, we have a LEGITIMATE "tell it like it is" commentator here.
  23. Ashlee's story: Yes, everything Veronicamers listed above is correct. She majored in biology and will study pediatric physical therapy in grad school. What really moved me was on Episode 9 when Ashlee was called in to meet with K & J, she shared about how her grandmother was ill with bone cancer, entered the hospital just before she left, and then developed an infection. Ashlee was so strong as she said, "It's part of life. I just keep kicking." Then, she shared that she was living with her cousin, but would soon be without a place to live. Again, she was incredibly strong, fighting tears and smiling as she said, "I'll figure it out." I was not particularly impressed with Kelli's response when she said, "Yes, that's a lot, but everyone in the locker room as A LOT." You mean like trying to fend-off milkshakes? Because I'm pretty sure that pales in comparison to pending homelessness. Just saying.
  24. I adore Ashlee. I was moved by her story last year (what little we heard about her), and she was so adamant about making the team due to her talent, not due to any special considerations. Hard worker, sheer talent, and class act all the way.
  25. I'm convinced that Kelli & co. somehow believe their bouquet of hair colors equates with diversity on the squad.
