  1. Lily has never really caught my attention, but Heather's comment that she is a "locker room favorite" and the other GLs chiming in that she has what it takes made me see her in a new light. I got the impression that the GLs were advocating for her to K&J. That speaks volumes for who she is as a person IMO, and I'm glad she ends up making the team. Also, the brief clip the showed of Meredith's SG audition made me almost start rooting for her. I mean, she's a mile behind on DCC choreography and style, but I must admit that I'm a sucker for a technical, well-controlled dancer.
  2. Conspiracy Theory #812 about the DCC: 1. Lisa and Julia do not get along since their time on the Mavs because not all girls on every team want to be each other's bridesmaids. 2. Lisa attaches her lips to VK's hind parts on the first day of training camp. She's a smart cookie, and she knows who holds the power on making the team. 3. Lisa casually drops falsified intel about Julia to VK. Something about Julia giving a weather report that a "beautiful storm" is about to turn ugly. 4. VK blabs to Haley Anderson (Charlotte's daughter) because they are besties who normally drink milkshakes together, but have to chit-chat endlessly to keep VK's mouth otherwise occupied until the team is announced. 5. Haley tells Mommy Charlotte about Cruella De Ville, er Julia. 6. Charlotte directs Kelli to cut Julia. Kelli is relieved because she just doesn't know who to cut, since "this year's candidates are the strongest group that we've ever had!" 7. Julia gets axed. 8. The entire veteran DCC population goes to IHOP to commiserate with Julia because they love her and have no idea how this happened. They wonder if a milkshake is involved. 9. Lisa privately celebrates her victory. She's accomplished a lot. Advanced Calculus, Biomedical Engineering, and dancing next to Victoria Kalina without getting an elbow to the eye. 10. DCC fans around the globe shake their heads upon hearing Julia didn't make the team. Unable to see any logic in the decision, they declare, "There are no words."
  3. VK may not be as savvy with her backstabbing as Lisa, but she's the one with the power when it comes to DCC. I purport that Lisa has befriended VK and will take permanent residence inside her a$$crack to keep her place on the team and get away with mean-spirited antics towards others.
  4. I believe that our resident insiders, @Smplsimon in particular, have accurate information. There have been multiple cases when the information has turned-out to be true (i.e. - telling us Jalyn was cut from SG long before SG was made public on social media or Shelly confirmed SG on this board). But, I'm going to set that aside for a moment and pretend that I don't believe anything presented here via insiders... and .... It is STILL obvious that the narrative on MTT this year is to rehabilitate Victoria's image. There's a Shakespearean phrase, "the lady doth protest too much," and this is exactly what I see with this year's narrative. I'd be more likely to believe that Victoria matured and became an entirely different person in one year's time if it wasn't crammed down my throat. Every.Single.Episode. I'm just waiting for this to air before the closing credits one of these weeks: "Next on Making the Team, Victoria rescues a drowning kitten, performs brain surgery to save the life of a teammate, and solves the mystery of the JFK assassination that took place right here in Dallas."
  5. Well, if rookies were truly alternates in previous years, I'd bet my life savings that rule miraculously changes this year. Kelli and Mama TK would never allow their beautiful storm to be a SG alternate.
  6. I'm sure Mama Bear (TK) will travel with the team next year to stand next to Mama Bear (KF) during the photo session.
  7. If adapting to smaller stage space is a factor for SG, then they are in a heap of trouble this year.
  8. From now on, I'll be using TIIC "The Idiots In Charge" I'd bet dollars to donuts that the 18 people listed were the selections from the judges panel. Then, Kelli had Judy make a couple of "corrections" (AKA - cut Jalyn & add VK).
  9. 3 Observations from "Victoria's Making the Team" & the SG Debacle: 1. Not a single negative comment from any judge (other than Kelli) was made about Jalyn during SG deliberations. That tells me that there were no negative comments about Jalyn from other judges. If those comments existed, they would have been shown to better set the stage for Jalyn's name not being called. 2. The only positive comments about Victoria were how much she had grown from last year. Well, let's see here... I can't kick my leg above the knee now, so if I try-out with this skill level and next year can kick an inch higher, then I've grown so much and should make SG, right? Oh damn, that's right, my mommy isn't best friends with Kelli. 3. Kelli's facial expressions said everything about her feelings towards Jalyn. Jalyn waited until after SG was called and everyone was getting up to make her brief exit. It was not dramatic or even noticeable (other than the cameras zooming in on it). Kelli made a sarcastic comment when Jalyn returned about "Looks who's here," and may as well have rolled her eyes. Her facial expression was distaste, perhaps even disgust. Looks like the insider info. was on point. Speaking of point, $%(#&@*#$@#$*!!!!!
  10. Now somebody convince me why Jalyn was supposedly out-danced? From what I saw in deliberations, Kelli shut-down the conversation when it came to her. From this screenshot, Jalyn's form is clearly better than the unknown candidate to her left. Yep, something is rotten in the state of Denmark, er Dallas.
  11. Attention: Dance Technique Experts! Need your help here... The second photo on KF's Insta post about SG auditions appears to have Jalyn and someone else to the left of her. From my non-expert viewpoint, Jalyn has WAY better form in that stag jump than whoever else is in that photo. So, are we really supposed to believe she was out-danced?
  12. @Smplsimon - Any chance you can tell us which rookies are most well-liked? Maybe just a name or two of someone who has made a good impression on the vets? Curious to know (secretly hoping my fave, Chandi, is a good teammate :-)).
  13. There is one simple answer for why these particular girls from SG were selected for this photo. Step 1 - Victoria is selected. Step 2 - Others are selected to create a nice bouquet of hair colors to pose alongside Victoria. Agree 100%! I am not over Gabby being cut at finals or Jalyn being cut from SG. They were two of my favorite rookies last year (alongside Ashlee & Bridget). Nobody will ever convince me that the current crop of rookies has more to offer the team than Gabby or that Jalyn was out-danced at SG auditions.
  14. I'm sure that Sam Finglass had only good intentions posting this on Instagram. So, this post is absolutely no judgment on her at all. With that said, if I had auditioned for DCC and was cut at any point, especially if I had made it to Training Camp, I would feel a kick to the gut from this post as if it's sending me a giant F-U.
  15. Victoria is not the best dancer on the team or even the best dancer among the rookies. I respect that others have divergent opinions and see something different than what I see. What I will submit is that reality television is not designed to present reality; it's designed to tell a narrative. I'm embarrassed to admit that I've watched enough Real Housewives shows and Big Brother seasons to know that production can splice together scene segments to tell any story that they want. For DCC: Making the Team, this year's narrative is that Victoria is amazing, so those are the only scenes we are going to see. For the average viewer, the narrative will work, but for anyone who chooses to investigate further (AKA - watch videos on Instagram), the narrative falls apart.
  16. THIS. Caring about diversity vs. caring that they were criticized about diversity are two entirely different things, and sadly the DCC organization is much more concerned with the latter.
  17. Or if they say something that Victoria doesn't like.
  18. Agree with your post, but I must add that it is a dangerous scenario with Victoria in that spot. If she had been in the back corner, then she could only take-out 1 or 2 girls at most with her beautiful storm antics. But in her current spot, she could wipe-out 7 or 8 girls with a single move out of space. I vote for Christina to rotate with Christina... which I guess makes the squad 36!
  19. I will give Victoria credit for slimming down this season. With that said, her dancing ability has not improved and CMT edits are going WAY OVERBOARD with this "changed Victoria" storyline. When the candidates were filling-out the personality survey, and Victoria was shown saying that she has all new answers because she changed so much in the last year... I call B.S. Sure, she may have matured, but that does not mean that her entire personality changed! I took the Myers-Briggs Personality Test in college, in my 30's, and again in my 40's, and my personality type was the same all three times. I'd be more tempted to believe Victoria had grown and matured if it wasn't shoved down my throat every other minute. JMrightO. 🙂
  20. I'm still mourning Khalyn. If she had stayed one more year, I would have started a GoFundMe to skywrite "Khalyn for point" right over the Star during auditions.
  21. Maybe I'm just a cynic... I have a hard time believing that there were actual DMs sent to VK that were truly hate-filled. I know there were comments on her IG posts about her lack of dance skill and her poor treatment of Jinelle. Frankly, I see that as a consequence of choosing to be in the limelight (If you don't want to be viewed as an #$$hole, then don't act like an #$$hole on national television). But actual hate and bullying on social media? I'm skeptical. Feel free to reply to tell me how mean and unsympathetic I am; I'm ducking as the flames come hurling towards me!
  22. It's a pretty low standard if you're falling out of turns and still make SG, but I guess the standard is all relative (pun intended).
  23. "Hit & run" is the perfect way to describe that post. Going about my day and then, WHAMMO, I'm on the floor. I guess we all can now relate to how it feels to dance next to VK. Just going about the routine and then, WHAMMO, she takes you out.
  24. Agreed 100%. They can make it easy by starting their decision-making process with anyone who falls out of turns. There. Done. Decision made.
