That could be.  I actually taught with a woman who had trouble getting her family organized in the morning, so she had her kids get dressed for school the night before and sleep in their clothes.  But, besides the Duggars, that is the only person I have ever heard of that did this.

My sister does this 🤦🏻‍♀️, it’s mortifying, her kids sleep and wiggle a lot so they are always frumpy and unkempt in the mornings 🤦🏻‍♀️

  2. My best friend is a Canadian, she was shocked when she moved to Texas because she did not understand religion and Bible beaters at all! Consequently she is one of the greatest humans I have ever met, and the sole reason I’m raising my child without religion! When She’s old enough to understand it I will introduce it (I am Catholic) and until then I focus on good morals and zero “you’re a sinner and will burn in hell”.

Fern is a pretty baby.  And because I don't think babies resemble anyone but other babies, she looks like herself.  Incidentally, Jessa looks good, bright eyed, good color and rested

Jessa had life in her voice, it was refreshing. Meanwhile Bin was 100% checked out from Her and forced the few words he did say. You could instantly see the difference when he was talking to his kids.

Actually, it's in reaction to Jill getting roasted on Facebook. Unfortunately, the thread is now deleted, but Jill called in relatives to back her up in her argument. She ended up deleting all of her posts, because we all know how things go when BEST MOMMA doesn't get her way.

Shrek's sermon on Sunday touched on Jill's hurt feewings.🙄

Can you give us the play by play? I missed it and I am so lost!

Brought over from the Jessa thread.

My family is from Alabama.  Most of my dad's side still lives there.  He has a sister who they all call Sister.  And all my cousins call her "Auntie Sister."  My siblings and I (who live in Michigan) call her Auntie "First Name."

Now, I'm on a roll.  My dad was called "Boy" by his family until the day he died at age 66!  😀  And my southern cousins called him Uncle Boy. Nicknames are funny.

When my parents and I talk about my brother we call him boy 🤣. When I speak to him I call him Bubby, and my child calls him Uncle Bubby.

I like Katey's dress a lot more after seeing it in motion.

Did I miss something, or was Jinger the only Duggar bridesmaid?

I was mildly impressed at the relative lack of cringe, and then Jed/Katey and Justin/Claire had to do the Duggar thing of the married siblings kissing their spouses at the same time for a photo. WHY?!

Jed is just so awkward. I swear he's an alien in a human costume trying to act normal.

    Was Jinger his sister mom?

In Jessa's case, I see the "sis" for Ivy as an identifier of her role to be a sister-mom, and everything else that goes along with being female in their culture.  To me, it's just a constant reminder to Ivy that she will have an expected position to maintain.  I hope I'm wrong and that it is a term of endearment.

It’s a southern thing. Bubba, Bubby, sis, sissy and sister are super common and we don’t look twice when we hear it with or without the siblings.

when she starts calling her “little mama” then I’d be worried about the sister mom role.

I watched the video of Gideon getting his hair cut and it made me wildly uncomfortable.

I get that he’s a “boy” and these idiots think he has to be “tough’” but FFS he’s still a toddler. They were so rough with him, poor baby.

I know it happens, but what a horrible mother to turn her back on her child to keep a man.

Could be worse…. The child could end up being abused for it then going on to be an escort at 14 to get away and then living in hiding while also being found by a secret agent as an adult. 😉

That's a major reason to make sure the new non-feeding parent changes the diaper before and/or after feeding.  They need to do their part, too.  I can't believe I can say that's one thing the Duggars at least say right.  Jeremy should never have been let off the diaper changing.

I can't live or function without sleep.  I made sure there was a pumped bottle for the around 11:00 PM feeding so I could at least sleep a few continuous hours.   I thought I might as well make use of being married to a night owl.

So, I’m not a fundie but my grandmother, her sisters and her daughters were all victims of CSA. So I was raised VERY strict where men were never alone with children especially changing diapers (including the fathers). So my husband has never changed a diaper, the thought of it terrifies me. I do 99.9% of the childcare and ALL of the personal care for her. My brother is the same and my mother or I would go to his house to bathe/change his daughters when they were young and his wife was out.

my kiddo was a NICU baby and Struggled with nursing so for the first 6months I pumped every 2-3hrs….. it was ROUGH!

but using them for help like that while you feed is actually smart.

  11. when I had my daughter I was up for pumping/nursing every 2-3hrs every night. I never woke my husband or asked for his help because he was useless to nurse or pump. I didn’t mind doing all the work because there was nothing for him to do. One day he told his mom our babe was sleeping through the night already and she never made a peep….. he almost died that day 😂. After that I still didn’t ask for his help but made it a point to disrupt his sleep every time I got up with her. He literally had no idea how much work/lost sleep went into having a baby 🤬

Families that are religious normally raise their kids in that religion. That could mean dietary restrictions and the need for a Chaplin that understands the families religious needs as well as the 2 year olds religious needs.

That’s what was funny, she didn’t ask mine or our families just my kids. I understand the question it was just funny that she had such a strong reaction to me saying my 2 year old didn’t grasp religion yet. I am a Heathen Catholic and tithe to my church for the sole purpose of having the father on standby for emergencies.

In my experience, many people do the same. At age 10 or so, I became aware of other religions (I was raised Catholic) and asked my mom how anyone knew that theirs was the “right” religion. She didn’t know. And that was the start of my path to atheism .

When my kiddo was hospitalized at 2 the intake lady wanted to know her religion..... I said.........she’s 2, pretty sure she doesn’t grasp that yet 🤣. She looked at me like I had just murdered a puppy.
