I hate that elitist bullshit ("once you get west of Nyack...")

I get that it is supposed to imply "real Americans", but where is Nyack? In CA, the only Nyack I know is the place that gets a lot of snow in the non drought years.

Part of my problem with Hiddleston's performance wasn't that I expected him to be Bond-esque, but I never believed his portrayal of a man pretending to be a psychopathic (per Angela), ruthless criminal. It's why I kept thinking that Roper was on to him - to me, Pine often seemed ready to jump out of his skin versus a "still waters run deep" even-keeled quality. Some of it was the writing and direction. Introverted personalities take a certain kind of talent to convey on screen, and it's not his strength.

This part bothered me because Angela told him he had to be the thug that snaps at a moments notice, but in most scenes with Roper, his inner Night Manager came out. I don't know it that is an indictment of Roper & his observational skill or Hiddleston's performance.

One of my big problems with Bond is when he goes on his mad revenge episodes because of a woman he slept with once. Really? He should be a walking STI with all the people he boinked.  (heh, boinked passed spell checker). He become so emotionally attached that he goes on a killing spree and burns his professional career. sigh.

  3. For half a minute when Root was discussing with Shaw that they were all shapes and the Machine has also run simulations on them, I thought that this episode was going to be another simulation. Flashing back to to Brazil and Matrix.

I agree with Sierra Mist.  Has Howard eaten at so many restaurants that he forgot that he went there with Grace?

I don't remember, but I thought the when Root installed the seven servers, it erased them all and provided cover. How did Samaritan pick up on Grace and Harold being important?

I'm thinking the decision to double up on eps tonight was no coincidence at all. Because I was glued to my TV. Shit just got very real.

Shaw is out! I was REALLY hoping they'd be done with the similations, and I'm glad she called bullshit and did away with Lambert. Similation or not, she wanted to put bullets in him.

It appears now that Shaw can in fact, remember things from previous similations, although she's probably now going to have serious doubt over what is a real memory and what's not.

Sameen serious got the Hunger Games "Jacked" thing going on: real/not real, except some of it I don't think she really cares about. Little feels.

Samaritan wants to run a harmonious society, right? And to achieve that, it chooses to eliminate certain people rather than handle what those people are doing? With this logic, to maximize the harmony, it would be best to eliminate everybody in the world and leave just a handful of people (one, ideally). And Greer doesn't see that? He still thinks Samaritan's approach is what's best for mankind?

Yes, Greer does.  Marvel Studios should be getting a small cut of the past two of season. Big overseeing computer program goes out and targets people for elimination. No heli-carriers, just some low tech stuff and other obscure packaging.

If Samaritan can manipulate package routing and voices, Is the Machine actively countering her moves to make sure Samaritan cannot cover up her tracks?

Much more realistic than the shows where someone is shot one week and then seemingly well the next.

After dealing with an impingement in my shoulder, and having PT & the Drs explain how it occurs, I just roll my eyes anytime someone gets shot in the shoulder now.  I don't keep track of all of the wound they suffer, but everybody's body, but Harold should be criss-cross and pockmarked with old injuries.

I watched the episode with the closed captions on. At one point, per the closed captioning, Finch spoke to Bear in German (instead of Danish). So that sent up a red flag for me that something was fishy...

That and Shaw spoke Farsi, not Arabic. :o

One thing that always bugs me from the "POV" is if it really was per pov shown on the monitor, then the feed would be more like a first person shooter image than what was shown on the monitor. <must stop over analyzing>

Actually, I think she said something like she wasn't "standing by her man" like Tammy Wynette.

I also remember how much shiit she got for saying that and there was eventually a stupid cookie recipe contest in a Women's magazine.

Thank you oakville for recapping for us. I can't stand listening to the group talk about how great Trump is going to do.

  9. So Mika and the other Lady correspondent chime in that Trump's wife will really help him out with women. Really? The wife that hated a soft news article on her and the author was inundated with anti-semitic tweets for days afterwards? I don't even know the wife's name and I've been sort of following the primarys all this time!

  10. I remember when Bush Jr went overseas, I can't remember the country, but he was up on stage and someone threw a shoe at him. For as much as I disliked him, that shit pissed me off. Because liked it or not he was the leader of my country and I didn't like that some other country thought it okay to throw a shoe at my president.

I remember his mad reflexes. I was impressed.

  11. why don't you complain about Mike Lee ( R ) Utah, that is holding up the emergency funds for Flint instead of trying to blame Obama.

Oh Amy Klobuchar, I guess that is what is called "Minnesota nice". When asked why the government wasn't sending money to Flint to fix their water system, she didn't name names. Just said they couldn't do it this time.

  12. So they had a big shot economist that said that part of the problems with flint has to do with not maintaining infrastructure, Joe nodded. Economist blamed Congress for not funding infrastructure improvements for the past several decades and said it was a result of tax cuts, <crickets>.

  13. In Bill's case, the Jr is probably overkill considering there's no longer a Sr -- was probably a directorial decision to visually confirm "brother" for casual viewers, not to be confused with Scully's dad or son.

I view all cell phone displays as a "for the viewer". I rarely have a person's full name in my cell phone; last name, first name & company or how I know them,  etc. I'd think it hilarious if she had Bill Jr as BJ.

  14. I was thinking "why haven't Americans appropriated Chinese New Year? We do St Patrick's Day and Cinco de Mayo." But then I realized, Chinese New Year is a lot of work! We just want a holiday that allows us to drink and party.

    Bastille Day!

  15. The poor girl was shaking a bit while asking the question.

That part bothered me. You could tell she was intimidated and so he walks toward her with his 300lbs and abrasive voice. I would have dropped the mic and ran (after apologizing).

  16. My favorite moment, after the scene of Mulder and Scully on his front porch (ah, that chemistry), was Scully stabbing Steva with the needle without a warning.

As a person with slippery veins, I smirked at this one. You could jab at my veins like that and my veins would dodge that sucker like a humming bird. Even if you got it, you'd stab the back of the vein, causing it to coagulate and you'd get NOTHING! I've made phlebotomists cry (not really, but they've had to tap out after two tries).

I agree with the FBI ID's making them look like babies. They were so young.
