  1. Not gonna lie -- this episode was a disappointment.  The Kamekona storyline was the most interesting by far.  I felt for him most of all.

Could not care less about Kono and Adam and Gabriel and all that.  They are trying to hard to make this Adam vs Gabriel clash dramatic, and it's just coming across as lame.  Sad to see Kono, one of the core four characters, is basically only there for decoration.  What the hell?  She should take out Gabriel on her own with one long-distance shot, and be done with it.

Worst of all was the Steve and Danny storyline.  It was like neither actor was invested in what was going on.  There was no chemistry between them at all, zero, nada, nothing.  What the hell was going on there?  They used to have so much on-screen chemistry, and now it's like they can barely stand to look at one another and be in the same room together.  Being a loving partner (whether in work or in marriage) was played for humor, when it could have been something very meaningful.   Just a big disappointment.   I guess the writers thought they were being funny.  It fell very flat for me.

In total agreement. I think the shark has been jumped.

  2. I watched.  I"m pretty meh on it, so far, but I'll keep watching.   Spoiler tagging just in case, but

I got a strong vibe that Ray Liotta might be the father of JLo's kid a la Vic Mackey and Danny from The Shield.

    I had the same thought.

  3. Was he a known sex offender at that time?  Or was he just one of many neighbors and local people?

Maybe she only killed as a last resort, once she was in danger of being found out.  At the time she attacked Mina, she may not have thought she'd ever have to kill someone.

It's like Holmes said -- she was just trying to stall them for two weeks, until she had access to the trust.

There have been real-life cases of people pretending to be missing children, and the family clinging to the deception despite even more obviously hinky circumstances.  It's baffling to me, but I guess the family wants so desperately to believe the child is back they overlook all manner suspicious details.

All this said, I am still mystified as to how she found Mina when law enforcement couldn't -- assuming she was telling the truth that she first learned about the case and got the idea for the fraud from an anniversary article.  I suppose she could have run into Mina first, figured out she was abducted, and then upon investigating learned about the wealthy family, but that seems equally improbable.

Also, I think she was unduly confident, with her whole "I've never committed a crime; you can't prove the murder because I have six explanations for it."  They may not be able to prove the murder, but they sure as hell can prove fraud -- her deception to the parents.  And that carries actual jail-time.  Unless she's hoping to get a suspended sentence with a sob story about a horrible childhood and wanting to belong to a loving family?

Regardless, she is a wonderful character, and I really hope we see her again.  Interesting, too, to compare her to Moriarty.

She'll be released into Sherlock's custody and he'll mentor her as he did with the bad girl from England last season(?). Her character is too good to be a one-shot deal.

  4. The title of the show is "shameless." By definition:

1.lacking any sense of shame: immodest; audacious.
    2.insensible to disgrace.
    3.showing no shame.

It ain't Ozzie & Harriet, and I think it hits the nail right on the head.

  5. I was underwhelmed. I thought the dialog left much to be desired. Very childish at times. I'll give it another shot before I let it go from my watch list.

  6. A very big let down. There is no way this case could have unfolded IRL as depicted by these writers.

Also, "Don't take this the wrong way, but I never want to see you again"

What the hell does that even mean?

Worst line I've heard in a very long time.

  7. I can't tell if that was break up advice or tell Kensi so it's not a secret advice.

Anyone think that Mama Deeks is not quite right emotionally? She seems a little too scattered.

My take on this is that it may be a setup for the future should one of the actors (Ruah or Olsen) decide to actually leave the show.

  8. What was in the plastic bag delivered to Richard Schiff? I replayed the scene multiple times, but couldn't make it out.

  9. Let's state for the record that the Perfect Race Tactic in that situation is to ask someone on the street for directions before seeking out a cab. Let's also state for the record that even teams we love unreservedly -- and we should definitely have reservations about how Justin conducts himself -- don't race perfectly.

I'm not comfortable with the idea that the cheerleaders were eliminated because of a shitty cab driver. But I'm also not comfortable with how the Green team got fucked over by their cab driver after apparently completing the hard part of their Detour task efficiently and with good speed. This was not an especially well-planned leg for it to be an F3 elimination leg.

But, why were they taking a cab when the next step (after they found the cell phone) was within walking distance. That didn't make sense to me.

  10. Changing rules in the middle of a contest is totally unfair. I'm referring to the male/female immunity.

Also, I can't understand why the men didn't band together to all vote for the same female since they were so concerned about the "female alliance." Keith's vote foe Tasha was wasted. Had they all voted for Abi there would have been a tie and a re-vote.

  11. So Fishbach has an advantage and he was the one who introduced the term "voting blocs." In my mind I'm wondering why there wasn't a majority "voting bloc" to eliminate Fishbach and rid the game of the advantage. Second thoughts are telling myself the producers want the advantage in play for the drama. Any thoughts?

  12.

When the decapitated body of a woman found in Lake Michigan is connected to Voight's social circle, Lindsay fears his relationship with the group may hinder his ability to approach the case objectively. Roman is having a hard time coping with recent events and an error in judgment causes him to make a grave mistake. Meanwhile, Olinsky becomes upset when Antonio doesn't consult him before making a decision that could affect Michelle's future.

Was this cut or did I fall asleep? The only scene I saw Olinsky was when he broke into the stripper's locker.

  13. Trying to clarify a few things:

    • Helen and Gottlief paid Oscar $100,000 for the video from the security camera (?) that showed Scotty and Alison having a "heated" discussion.
    • Oscar also happened to overhear this heated discussion which included Scotty making the "that's our baby" comment.
    • This discussion happened at Cole's wedding? So a few months after the events that we saw in last night's episode?
    • Presumably, sometime after this discussion, Scotty is killed in a hit and run.

With that in mind, Noah's entire defense rests on not just the tape itself but what Oscar overheard. The tape in and of itself proves little. Scotty and Alison could have been arguing about the choice of entrees at the wedding reception. All of this strikes me as a little too convenient, especially because we are relying on Oscar  - a character with a possible desire for vengeance - for the information.

Oscar's information would seem to implicate Alison as the killer. If so, then Noah is covering for her. I'm not convinced that this evidence entirely eliminates Noah as the killer. Suppose that Alison confessed to Noah after the conversation with Scotty. Isn't it possible that Noah may have killed Scotty to keep him quiet, particularly if Scotty attempted to blackmail Alison?

If Oscar overheard the conversation between Scotty & Alison, wouldn't that be considered hearsay and not be admissible at trial?
