  1. I'm not sure if I'm just too dumb for this show, or if it is just too convoluted and not interesting enough to keep my attention.  I'm going with option B.  I spent most of the episode (once I remembered it was on) confused about what was going on.

    Me too.

  2. Franco and Gadon have so much chemistry that I'm now wondering if they hooked up IRL.

I'm guessing that he puts a clothespin on his penis because he's re-creating sexual abuse by a parent, and he takes his residual feelings (guilt/anger) out on himself and any sex partner (Sadie).

Based on the conversation with Jake, it sounds like his "mommie" was the abuser.

  3. I'm guessing it was the "you don't belong here" guy who led Sadie to the sex tape, though I'm not sure why he's needed if the past can push back on its own. Miss Mimi is starting to annoy me -- Jake did her a major solid at the gas station but she's constantly chiding him as if he's troublesome. Was that TR Knight as Sadie's ex? He was awesome.

Yes, that was T.R.(George O'Malley from Grey's Anatomy)

  4. So did I understand correctly that they seem to be going with the Locke kid's being Peter's illegitimate son?  Quelle soap!

That's what I took from it.

Can't wait until the end of this.

  5. Copied from TV Fanatic:

Take advantage of an opportunity FX is offering for The People v OJ Simpson: American Crime Story tonight: (Saturday, 3/5/16)

A commercial-free marathon of the first five episodes in back-to-back airings.

If you had doubts about the series, everything is easily dispelled by the incredibly talent on board. Remember, this is FX. Nothing they do is less than superior, and The People v. OJ Simpson is no exception.

It's masterful storytelling, wholly compelling and shown in such a way it's as if you've never heard it before. There are moments during this trial when you will be on the edge of your seat, knowing fully well the end of the case. That's quite a feat. Don't miss out! Details of the marathon and episodes follow.
    PPL v OJ

The special programming block featuring the first half of the 10-part limited series will begin at 10 PM on FX and run without any commercial interruptions through the conclusion of Episode 5 at 2:10 AM.

Please note that for West Coast DirecTV and Dish Network customers, the marathon will run from 7 PM to 11:10 PM.

Chapter 1 – “From the Ashes of Tragedy” – The murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman lead the LAPD to the home of O.J. Simpson.

Chapter 2 – “The Run of His Life” – With O.J. Simpson missing in the white Bronco, Robert Shapiro and Robert Kardashian deal with the fallout, as the D.A.’s office and LAPD scramble to save face and find him.

Chapter 3 – “The Dream Team” – Marcia Clark announces that O.J. Simpson has been charged. Robert Shapiro seeks advice from F. Lee Bailey and comes up with a provocative strategy. As Shapiro starts putting together “The Dream Team”, he must convince O.J. to hire Johnnie Cochran.

Chapter 4 – “100% Not Guilty” – Johnnie Cochran brings an energy that transforms the case. As jury selection gets underway, the prosecution and defense seek out the assistance of jury research experts, who come back with some surprising results. Meanwhile, Faye Resnick publishes a tell-all book, complicating the court proceedings.

Chapter 5– “The Race Card” – As the trial begins, Christopher Darden and Johnnie Cochran face off in court. Chris has doubts about Mark Fuhrman as a witness. The jury visits the crime scene.

In addition, The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story returns this Tuesday, March 8, at 10 PM e/p with the all-new episode: Chapter 6 – “Marcia, Marcia, Marcia” – As Marcia Clark juggles her home and work obligations, she starts to feel the public scrutiny of her appearance.

The series stars John Travolta, Cuba Gooding Jr., Sarah Paulson, Courtney B. Vance, David Schwimmer, Sterling K. Brown, Nathan Lane, Connie Britton, Selma Blair, Malcom-Jamal Warner, Kenneth Choi and Bruce Greenwood.

  6. There is no way that Chen could walk into a DA's office; discuss a case for exoneration, have the accused sign an agreement not to sue, and immediately be back on the street. I don't know the actual process, but I'm certain it is much more involved and complex  than what we saw in this episode.

  7. I think they want it to be as close to real life as possible.  In real life you aren't privy to every conversation.  If you don't know the language then you don't get to know what they're talking about.

I think they did the same thing last season.

OK, but in real life you also don't get extreme closeups of everyone in your viewing spectrum. Together, the lack of translations of another language, and extreme closeups, make this show very annoying to watch.

  8. i hate episodes like this. like i don't really get what specifically i'm supposed to get. Like they were always apart? they always fought?

April not telling Jackson she's pregnant is kind of shadypants.

    Me too. Absolutely hated it.

  9. Eric has been in the field before, but not in a shooting scenario. I thought it was funny that his only prior experience in such situations was playing video games. I can see him mentally reaching for a controller, looking like a deer caught in the headlights. But in the end, even that VR experience served him well. Definitely, carrying a non-lethal flashbang is more his style than a gun (still holstered). Nell, on the other hand....

I'm tired of the gimmick of ID'ing yourself as a federal agent or cop from across the street to be sure the suspect has time to bolt or start shooting. I think of NCIS as better than that.

One of my biggest dislikes. ("Federal agents stop" from 20 yards away) I also hate that none of the good guys giving chase (almost) never shoot out tires when the bad guys are fleeing in a vehicle.

  10. The show covered that. He's a big donor to Peter's campaigns. I'm more confused how any investigation could be targeting Peter and his donor, AND an obscure bond court judge. What do they have to do with each other?

The donor and bond court judge might/could be or are related to each other.
