  1. I think that sounds lovely.  She may want to be careful who she tells her plans to.  In this overly regulated world we live in most states require a permit to spread ashes especially in waterways.   And if it's at sea must be at least 3 nautical miles from shore.

I've only watched the first few minutes so far.  But I came here to read everyone's snarky comments about Janelle videotaping herself driving (apparently to the studio) with that one big old pink curler in the front of her hair.  Tacky!!!

But there were no comments in this thread about the curler . . . until now.  LOL.

Not so unusual in some circles.  On many occasions I, and most of my friends, acquaintances, and hundreds of strangers have pulled up to a competition and/or photo shoot with that very look and sometimes even stranger "accessories" stuck to or poking out of my head.

I found it very interesting that at one point Kody mentioned the fact that he has "two other wives", while discussing something about Robyn.  Kody only acknowledges that he has THREE TOTAL WIVES.  I'm wondering if Meri caught that . . .

I'm pretty sure this was filmed after Christine left so he is correct in that statement - besides Robyn there was only Janelle and Meri

I think Janelle's happy where she is. She's got grown children and is going to enjoy being a grandmother and experiencing those kids in ways she missed with her own kids growing up (similar to how many of our fathers who worked and weren't demonstrative with us suddenly became actively engaged with grandchildren)

She likes her garden and her tv shows and going fishing and the occasional heavy metal concert. Kody can stay or go and she's fond of him so she hopes he stays, but she's not going to chase him if it's inconvenient to doing what she feels like. A cabin or trailer off to the side of the pond and occasional get-togethers with the extended family are pleasant prospects but she's not invested enough in any of the "adult" relationships to take sides in the others' battles.  She does seem to believe in plural marriage, so she appears to be comfortable with Kody ensuring her afterlife and not ambitious to find a better man to do it.

Years ago I predicted her kids would be spread out in different states and Grandma Janelle would roll her trailer up to each one in turn, stay a few months, then move on to the next, occasionally seeing Kody if she was in whatever town he landed in. I still imagine that's how things will unfold.

And you know what?  I think this sounds like a dream arrangement.  Call him if I have some heavy lifting that needs to be done then maybe feed him and send him on his way.  I can get help when I need it but otherwise, I can get back to the business of doing whatever I want to do.  All the benefits and none of the hassle.

As soon as Chastity starting designing another DynastyFalconCrestSexyPromDress, the writing was on the wall for no eliminations ‘cause there was no way they were sending her home.

Did anyone else notice that while they were being given the brief by Nina and Christian how the camera lovingly stayed on Chastity’s face with brief shots of a very tired looking Kristina, and then they only showed Shantall and Coral in the long shots? This season is Chastity’s to lose, though I’m not sure what she’d have to show at fashion week to officially lose because she’s shown mostly pedestrian, over-designed losing looks all season and here she is, front runner in the finale.

Yes, I noticed, it's all very telegraphed.

And I always considered black to be the neutralist of neutrals, when did it become a "power" color?  That's why every woman in the world has a "little black dress"; its whole purpose is to be so neutral that you can do anything with it to make it work for whatever you need it to work for.   Dress it up, dress it down.  Fade into the background by wearing "as is" or combining with other very neutral pieces/accessories OR combine it with a show piece that pops and everyone notices because the little black base is nothing but a canvass for whatever you put it with.

I was thinking last night that I dont remember the judges ever calling out to the models the way we’ve seen this season.

That's because they really didn't except on very rare occasions and even then it was pretty subdued.  This year we've gotten it from the contestants and the judges but really only for our very special models, (just in case I have to point it out, those would be Mimi and Deedee).  I can't imagine how the other 2 models felt, after the obnoxious squawking from the gallery it was like the other 2 were walking at a funeral.

  5. A tool that has a helluva lot more experience in the industry than he does.  If he has no interest in being successful in fashion and selling garments then sure, disregard others experience based advise, compose the photo however he wants and try to sell the prints.

For that matter, if your tool can't maneuver and move in your tornado inspired garment you're never going to see your vision in a photo either.

Didn’t he take a summer long road trip across the country alone before Covid? He may or may not be autistic but if he is he’s very high functioning. Perfectly capable of living on his own.

Perhaps.  I very specifically said I didn't know about Dayton or any accommodations he may need in order to remove any focus from him.  My comment was to dispel the notion that just because someone may be able to achieve academically that did not equate to abilities or skills associated with other areas of life or living.  Think Rain Man which, while not based on a true story was inspired by a real person.

  8. Raw bones are fine for dogs and in fact quite good for them.  They help clean their teeth and gums and give a boost of nutrition, in particular the marrow is fantastically good for them (and you).  So if you're like me and debone all your own meat, please don't deprive our little Mo.  And even if you don't debone your own meat, be sure to ask your butcher for whatever discards he/she may be willing to give you.  Raw does not splinter like cooked can hence all the hoopla.  I'm with you though even cooked doesn't often cause problems but the potential is there.

I’m glad that at least we won’t have to see Bones shirtless anymore. Who the hell does he think he is to repeatedly go shirtless in the workroom after Christian checked him? It’s unprofessional and classless to work shirtless outside of his own personal studio.

This!!  So much This!!  I found his hubris in this regard disgusting.

One thing that confused me. In the previews they kept showing Coco saying, "if this had been one of my (regular) shoots, they would have shut it down." (or words to that effect) But she never said that in the actual show, so I don't know who it was aimed at. I assume Bones, since she didn't like the way he directed the shoot. But why put something like that in the previews and then not show it?
    <snip>

Christian hosts an aftershow with the eliminated designer that is accessible on the Bravo site.  The first few eliminated designers didn't get a sit down (I think Octavio was the first).  Anyway, on the after show they did show Coco saying it to Bones.

They also talked a bit about the snippiness that Bones had towards Christian and how it mellowed over time, they quipped that they went from "fight to tight"  I don't know if I'd go that far but whatever.

They also touched on the freezing out of Shantal.  In fact, Bones was rather snarky about her and definitely threw some shade her way.  (I would choose much stronger words if I were not commenting on a public forum).  I will say that pretty much every designer has named Shantal as the winner so that's either a good sign or an omen and they've all put a hex on her with their almost unanimous prediction.

You could see that in Shantal's face when she was amazed she still got to choose the ladder.  When Chasity chose the pallet first, and everyone else went "oooooh" I was sitting here going "WTF?"  But it actually was a stack of pallets, not just a single pallet, so that at least allowed a little verticality.  I thought maybe Christina had an idea in mind for the blue bin, but then she made a blue outfit for the blue bin, and didn't really make much use of it.  Even the legendary Coco Rocha couldn't make the bin work for her.  I was surprised they didn't try setting the bin upside down, or on its side with the wheels facing the camera, or at an angle and having Coco stand triumphantly on top, with a wide stance showing off the contrasting pants.  Now that would have been editorial!  Also, it appears that Christina must be a Seattle Seahawks fan, because that's what a high fashion fan would wear to a home game.
    <snip>
I like the idea of this challenge.  I think it shows a different side of the designer's creativity, and how they work with models.  I hope this challenge gets repeated in following seasons.

Also on the aftershow, Christian shows his picks for best photo for each of the designers.  Before the reveal, they show a montage of various photos and in that montage there were a number of pics w/ the bin all sorts of ways, on its side, backwards, Coco sitting on, etc  So they did make more use of the bin than just having it placed next to her.

This was a great challenge. Bringing a professional like Coco into the actual challenge lends capital F fashion cred to the show vs guests like the housewives. It's also good to see the contestants on an even playing field. Same model with the same measurements and skills for everyone.

I'm coming to defend Coco, as well. She's an amazing model and a delight in person. She's been in the industry for half her life and she has worked with the best. She knows what she's talking about. She's confident not arrogant.

Fun fact - Coco was a competitive Irish dancer. Jean Paul Gaultier had her dance down his runway twice -

Re: the bold, couldn't agree more.  The show is very lucky they have Christian as the mentor because I'm pretty sure they would not have gotten someone of the same caliber as Coco otherwise.  She and Christian are besties.  He has often indicated she is his muse and has her walk in almost all of his shows usually walking first and almost always walking last.  And it's rare that anyone else wears his most couture or concept looks on his runway.

In case anyone is interested, the after show (3 parts) can be viewed here...   Project Runway After Show

  10. It's probably best anyway as within those 4ish minutes it seems it's going to be an eminent domain case and Bull is going to be arguing for the city.  I rarely find the city sympathetic in such cases and the displaced homeowner almost always is left with what amounts to poo on the bottom of someone's shoe.

So my overall assessment based upon my not quite 5 mins of watching is - this episode sucks.

  12. Man, I hope Bull squishes Marissa so thoroughly she comes out of court feeling like a mass of pulp.  It's rare I have such disdain for a fictional character but I sure do for her - I think it's because she kind of reminds me of someone I know.  Infer whatever you like from that statement; that's all I'm going to say about it.

  13. Breaking Bad doesn't appeal to me either.  Just FYI in case you missed, I added to my previous post...  not once but twice.  No need to comment specifically, I just wanted to make sure you didn't overlook my thoughts because I egotistically think they are great suggestions. <sheepishly walks away>

  14. I just realized you didn't mentioned Yellowstone - it's excellent and current.  I recommend it highly.  I haven't yet started the prequel 1883 but I hear good things about it as well.

eta: On the fun side of TV watching, I also loved Galavant super fun spoofy musical drama.  Good Omens was fun and if you enjoy the music of Queen, it's featured heavily.  And last fun one is The Orville - Fun sci-fi (specifically Star Trek psuedo-spoof) next season scheduled for release March '22

eta #2:  This is the last one... (probably)  I'd be remiss if I didn't mention our beloved Phil's other reality competition Tough as Nails - true salt of the earth contestants honoring their blue collar roots and doing and being what and who they are.  Love

  15. Netfoot, As your a Fillion fan, you must have watched the original space western Firefly, yes?  If not, even if you're not a sci-fi fan, you absolutely must watch it.   I'm guessing since you watch The Expanse, you do not fall into the anti sci-fi bucket so with that being said the following are not of the space faring sci-fi genre but are still great; Orphan Black and at least the 1st season of Westworld.

Kody, who really was pushing  for the Big House, said he “never wants to see his wives sharing a kitchen.”  LOLOLOL

The wives have certain broken down into their 2 teams of two.

They wouldn't have been sharing a kitchen even then.  They each had their own wing equipped with a full kitchen.  The big central kitchen was intended primarily for big family gatherings.  That being said, I still think he's a hypocritical ass that shows extreme favoritism and intolerance for the rest of the family.

Given where things are today, I wonder if all this strife is the real reason Christine didn't want to pursue the single home with four wings.  She may have already been questioning whether she was going to stay in the family.   If that wasn't the case then I actually wonder if the big family home wouldn't have served to bring them back into some sort of single family unit.  It seems whenever there is distance between their homes there is tension.   Now not only is there the geographic distance between the homes there is also government recommended barriers as well as Kody's added over the top restrictions.

  18. I know a number of families that put up the Christmas tree and at least a few decorations in time for Thanksgiving.  It's all part of the holiday season celebration.  They are usually the same families that make an event out of day after Thanksgiving shopping as well (or at least used to).

Regardless if they were legally married or not, custody and visitation agreements can still be drawn up and binding.  I think the point that was being made is that those agreements likely do not, or at least did not, exist because, as far as the Browns were concerned, they were operating under the assertion that they were married and therefore no agreements were necessary.
