Seriously? There is a horrific war in Ukraine, the new Covid variant is sweeping through Europe and has arrived here, climate shift is causing enormous changes in our weather and "fans are saddened" about a skinned knee?
I weep for society.
It's no different than people being outraged over the various things that Kody does, or being appalled by Robyn's duplicitousness, or disgusted by Janelle's cooking, her cookware, and tableware.
I feel more heartened seeing people in society feeling empathy and concern when someone's hit by a car than when I hear of society's more aggressive emotions in response to others' actions.

My concern is that how quickly an oven heats up is so variable. An older oven may not even reach 400 or (whatever she said) in the allotted baking time.
American ovens have top and bottom heating elements. When we use the top heating element it is usually for broiling but it can be used for generally oven cooking as well (it's not done often and usually only for specialized instances).

OR... someone brought along a tripod, a camera support sandbag, or even just set it up on a rock, tree stump, etc and used the shutter timer.

I believe there was a misread or perhaps a misrepresentation regarding sealing. A person can be sealed to only one at a time. It is true unsealing is rare but if one was able to get unsealed from the 1st spouse you can indeed be sealed to a 2nd spouse.

I am really glad they stopped giving chickens to people who had little, if any, knowledge on how to properly feed, manage, or butcher them. I raise chickens so I do not have any philosophical objections to the process only objections to fostering and enabling irresponsible and sometimes inhumane animal husbandry practices.

I think there were a few years when they would sometimes broadcast a double episode so for purposes of the board and TV schedule guides those episodes were listed as one with whatever title. When they were put onto the streaming service the long episodes were divided into standard length runs and posted as 2 separate episodes with entirely new titles. Why TLC didn't rename them with the same episode titles for at least one of the two shorter episodes is beyond me. You can see evidence of this as on the board we show season 6 as having 13 episodes whereas TLC streaming shows it as having 20 episodes.

No doubt it was very unsettling! It sucks that retailers need to employ personnel to even carry out these duties. I do think you're right that retail theft has increased and even more disturbing to me is that it has become much more blatant and excessive.

Homeschooling has come a LONG way in the past decade or so and frankly advanced at light speed during the last 2 years. The modern version of homeschooling is vastly different than even during the 90's. And while technically in most states a parent or similar sets the curriculum, determines lessons, cobbles together "teaching aids", etc mostly on their own, in reality quite often this is not the case. Instead it is common to find the homeschooler's curriculum, lessons, and even teaching via an online service leaving the parent as support and consultant rather than primary driver for teaching and assessment. It's fascinating to see how almost any away from home excursion or even daily chores and activities can be turned into an thorough educational opportunity. I know one homeschooler who turned their family camping trip into a entomological research project. Another who was interested in animal husbandry and used "class time" to shadow a large animal veterinarian for a few weeks, the same student also shadowed with a zoo keeper.

It's more likely the Loss Prevention Officer wanted you to know he was watching you. He was likely employing a deterrent technique to prevent a possible theft rather than potentially needing to employ an apprehension and detainment in the event your intentions were illicit.

Mining for all the metals needed for EV batteries is problematic not just on the labor front but also for the environmental impact (land, atmospheric, and ocean). Also of import is the location of much of the raw deposits particularly lithium; a significant amount is found in China, Russia, and Ukraine. Ukraine's deposits were not too much of a concern until oh about 3 weeks ago.

None of these observations mean the property is not worth the ~$54K/ac Additionally, we have no idea what the ground water situation actually is. Just because it is not visible from the surface or that there is little shallow root vegetation means little. We do not know what time of year these aerial shots were taken nor do we know if the land has already been slated for municipal services and utilities. There is a LOT that goes into the valuation of undeveloped land. The fact that these lots were already surveyed, deeded, and are part of a larger community would suggest there is more to the land than the visuals would imply.

The sounds about right. I don't know precisely where they are but undeveloped land ranges from 50 to upwards of 160K per acre in the Flagstaff area.
Unless the property is very remote land is not cheap, and even then it can still be cost prohibitive because remote land is usually still remote due to the difficulty of using it in any productive manner and frequently can barely be used for either livestock or crops so even primitive off-the-grid homesteaders have a significant challenge-

Re: the bolded... The right to privacy is most definitely given up if one is the subject of a law enforcement action. Arrests and other police action is subject to public records and scrutiny, along with a constitutional right to redress our government which would be infinitely more difficult if we did not have the previously mentioned rights. Other than in the case of minors who do enjoy some legal protections, adults are very much subject to being video recorded even during a police action of which they are the person of interest. Just as importantly, the 1st Amendment of the US Constitution would come into play here with freedom of speech and perhaps press. For a legal reference that is very similar to what was depicted here please see Best v. Berard, 776 F. Supp. 2d 752 (N.D. Ill. 2011), please note, this is a federal court which would supersede state laws. For a very succinct overview here's a summary write up... Fear of lawsuits is outside my point but, as is illustrated in the above citing, the producers should have little concern of this maneuver BUT may very well have a concern regarding public opinion and would likely be viewed as being in bad taste.-

<snip>Depends on the location being filmed. In this case, technically, no they do not need to get a release. It is a common misconception that a person can not be filmed unless they have given consent or have signed a release. In the US, there is NO expectation of privacy when in public therefore anything that can be seen while on public property can be filmed and documented without recourse by those being filmed. As a courtesy, news outlets and others sometimes blur people not germane to subject of the filming but it is by no means a necessity. And by the way, this right to film or video record in any manner is a constitutional right and therefore can not be infringed upon.

I'd wager he did not write the resume and/or LinkedIn profile, rather a career coach from either his high school, college, or service questioned him at length and wrote it on his behalf. This practice and inflated characterization of skills and experience is quite common and seen on CVs at all professional candidate levels. Whether it is right or wrong or you agree with it or not, it is typical.

Edited to Add: I realize this makes me an outlier, but it’s something companies might want to know (and maybe hadn’t considered). They could be alienating potential customers with their commercials versus attracting customers.
Advertising agencies and marketing professionals have a very good understanding of viewers as well as current and potential customers. A lot of time, effort, and cost is spent doing market research and analysis and unfortunately fickle customers are frequently considered acceptable losses.

I love her tatoo. She must have an affinity for Winnie the Poo. I'm glad she posted a black and white version of the tatoo on her calf because I couldn't see the one she did in color too well. I wonder when she had it done. It looks like she found a quality technician which is fortunate for her. Her tatoo looks better than Mariah's to me.

todayyesterday, but I did make up a paste wax.
I heated two 100cc bottles of light parafin oil on the stove in a clean dog-food tin. Then slowly added three white, wax candles (from Trinidad. Almost certainly pure parafin wax), broken up into pieces.
Stirring until all the wax was melted into the clear solution, I decanted everything into this clean, dry jar which once held a peppery, lime chutney. By a fluke of some sort, the amount perfectly fit the jar.
At this point Mo and I went out to the club, so I left the jar, uh, ajar on my desk to cool. Didn't get home in time to use it, but the results were just what I was hoping for. A soft, waxy paste that when you rub it on, vanishes leaving a thin layer on the surface. Rub this on the cast iron and it will invisibly cote the metal and inhibit rust. Ideal for tools of every sort, really.
The same stuff made with beeswax is excellent as a food-safe wood finish too, by the way.
Tomorrow, I have a busy day of cleaning up. If I want to buy this fridge, I have to move stuff around so there is a clear passage from the front door to it's final home in the kitchen. So that is for tomorrow.
If I get that done early, I will get back to the saw. I'll adjust the fence ride height, square it to the blade, and wax the table top. Then I can try making a test cut or two. Looking forward to that!
(BTW, when the table-saw is finished, I have a bandsaw to do next. Then a scroll saw. And a drill press. And a spindle sander. And a lathe.....)
Thank you for the detailed explanation of the paste wax preparation. I think I'm going to mix up a batch. Neither the oil nor the wax should go bad or rancid so I'm guessing it is pretty stable stuff. I'm probably going to make up some for wood as well using beeswax as you suggest.
