    At approximately 10 a.m. Pacific Standard Time on January 26, 2020, Bryant and four others were killed in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California. His 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, was on the helicopter with him, along with her teammate, her teammate's parent, and the pilot. They were on their way to a travel basketball game.

    Initial reports indicated that the Sikorsky S-76 crashed in the mountains above Calabasas in heavy fog. The incident is under investigation.

    He wasn't acquitted. There was no trial. She wouldn't testify and he eventually paid her a civil settlement. And in nearly every case of a rape victim coming forward, her "honesty" is nearly always questioned -- that's why women are reluctant to report. And this was his statement after the fact:

    I'm sorry that his daughter died. 

    That's just wicked sad.

    From TMZ:

    12:35 PM PT -- Kobe's daughter Gianna Maria -- aka GiGi -- was also on board the helicopter and died in the crash ... reps for Kobe tell TMZ Sports. She was 13.

    We're told they were on their way to the Mamba Academy for a basketball practice when the crash occurred. The Academy is in nearby Thousand Oaks.

    He was recently in an episode of the new Twilight Zone revival called The Wunderkind.
