Of course they do and it's fine to remember them here, but many of the recent celebrity deaths reported here and elsewhere were hardly household names.  Most had a low level of recognition amongst fans of various genres; not stardom that is widely recognized.

The numbers of deaths reported has also risen due to social media as well as the fact that the generation of performers who became recognizable due to the growth of television and other media in the 60's and 70's are now quite elderly and their time has come.

At least he wasn't shucked by a rogue elephant like Chuckles the Clown.

I just had to post that.

Thanks to the internet I've found a lot of the shows I remember.  Especially some off-the-wall stuff like Return to Eden, which I finally tracked down. (Though I still haven't found the mini series.)  When we lived in Houston decades ago, the independent station there showed movies and tv shows from all over the world.

One thing still eludes me and that is the original 2 night mini series version of The Scarlet Pimpernel (Jane Seymour, Anthony Andrews, Ian McKellen). Not the repeat that TNT did, not the vhs or dvd movie versions.  Because there was a fencing scene cut from everything but the first airing. (Though I didn't buy the Acorn version, maybe that one has deleted scenes?)

Oh, and Queen of Swords. I wish I could buy that so I could ditch my low quality mpegs.

I didn't know the one with Jane Seymour was a TV movie.

Just my personal opinion, and not that it is a bad thing, but I just think that a lot of C-list and below celebrities are being reported in this list more than it ever was before. That makes it seems as if there has been a major uptick in celebrity deaths. Again, I am not saying that they shouldn't be.

As long as it’s a celebrity, then it will count.
