  1. I opened a beer for the first time since the winter holiday break, I think. In honor of the first hot day of the year, because this is a snoozefest, and because my Dad used to say 'fish don't go on dry' and would usually have a beer (or vodka, in winter) when eating fish.
  2. A lot of bigger rest stops and gas stations aka truck stops have them. And, surprisingly, some public libraries - the bigger ones that also host events like movie nights or town meetings.
  3. Syreeta, losing a couple hundred pounds would sure make it easier for your body to sustain a healthy pregnancy...
  4. Surely even the van life can allow for healthier eating? You don't have to just buy junk if you have access to a public microwave at least...
  5. Milk production doesn't really correlate with boob size. I bet hers are almost entirely fat tissue and not any more mammary gland tissue than any other woman's...
  6. David has the jiggliest butt I've seen in a long time. And that's even after he had already lost 150 pounds off his baseline!
  7. She looks like she has bags tied to her belly and butt. Very unfortunate fat distribution, it probably makes it hard to walk even more than just the pure weight of it.
  8. I vaguely remember David, that was the odd situation with the foster mother - I just don't remember whether he did well or not. He looks like a snowman in the process of melting in the beginning...
  9. Hi all! How are you doing? It's finally warm here in Massachusetts, my AC turned on for the very first time this year. Eating habit tonight will be teriyaki-glazed salmon and roasted fingerling potatoes. We will only have two more episodes after tonight - the 29th and June 5th - so let's enjoy our few remaining times together this Spring. I have decided that the layoff was actually a good thing for me: either I will come out of it with a new and exciting job (outside of the field in which I spent the last 17 years) or I pocket a nice severance and get the first summer off since 2000, and find a new and exciting job in my field. Win-win, really!
  10. Wow this was a snoozefest. Not even much for snarking... have a good night, everyone.
  11. Taking a break will probably be Julian slipping back to his old habits and regaining all he has lost. Sigh.
  12. Using the baby to try to deflect Dr. Now's rightful anger is not cool, Julian.
  13. She actually lost the required amount... though it's one of the lowest goals we've seen Dr. Now set pre-surgery...
  14. It's some kind of misguided 'I want the baby to have what's best, and I really want to have this, so I will let the baby have this' and that's how bad eating habits get passed on to the next generation... so unfortunately, I don't think Julian will be a long-term success. He hasn't embraced the healthy eating, he just views it as a 'must do' for some goal, once he achieves that goal or just gets tired - off the rails he will go...
  15. It's amazing she didn't just regain. I am sure the first thing she did when she got out of the hospital is pig out on junk food. WTF why would you feed the kid junk food? Feed the kid healthy food!!!
  16. Now that he lost weight and doesn't look bloated, Julian looks like a brown-skinned version of my cousin. The eyes and the facial expressions are uncannily similar.
  17. The voiceover of 'I can't lose my chance' as she is eating what looks like the saddest taco ever is rather ironic.
  18. She probably lost a good amount of weight in the hospital, but she can probably regain that all when she goes home. I am sure the only reason she wanted to get out is access to the food she wants. It's not like she has anything else to go back to...
  19. Yeah, for him going up and down the stairs is as good a workout as any... I think they have paired him with Cindy for contrast, he will be the good one and she will be the bad and the ugly.
  20. You would think that the whole family would eat better... unfortunately, doesn't happen all that often.
  21. Oooh, I remember that one. I think in the end she ended up staying in Houston because the friend who was going to let her move back with her bailed out? I wouldn't mind a follow-up on her, she was such a train wreck.
  22. Well, despite losing all that weight, Julian still has his priorities straight - we can't abandon food!!! We can risk our lives in a tornado, but not the food!
  23. No, there were at least a couple patients over 850 that I can remember... and I have only watched half the seasons.
  24. Impressive back folds on this guy. Looks like the face of that funny alien pilot in the original Star Wars movie.
  25. I have a super-easy recipe for oven-baked chicken thighs. It's high temp (425-450) so skin comes out amazingly crispy while meat is very juicy and tender. Takes about 25-30 mins in my convection oven. I use granulated garlic, paprika, salt and pepper for the rub. :) All the pluses of fried chicken with none of the minuses, in my opinion (I don't usually eat the breading anyway).
