That just might be the difference between being in 500's (low!!!) and 600's (fat!!!) because it could be 599.4 vs. 600.1!
-
Unknown. Her latest weigh-in before calling Dr. Now was 620 but that was years ago.
-
Unfortunately, seems like she is all talk the talk but not walk the walk. That looked like fast food and soda she snuck in before her Dr. Now appt. And she definitely did NOT lose 100 pounds. Her clothes would fit differently and her face would look different. And it's been a couple months - I don't think she is working with Dr. Paradise to the fullest either.

Oranges are a fruit of doom too. Which is why I am eating clementines. Five of them!!!

I hope it's just because TV skipped the real conversation for patient privacy reasons. We are only getting a re-hash and not the real appointment, after all. She is in school and has 4.0. Good for her. I hope fixing her anxiety will really help her...
-
She sounds nice and well spoken. Pretty honest about her eating. And seems to genuinely love her kids. I am really rooting for her at this stage. But I don't know how to tackle her weight vs. her mental health, which one should she focus on first. Hope between her and Dr. Now they figure it out.

With her weight, I am not sure how to even dose her, a lot of anxiety meds are weight dosed. I would be afraid to that I would kill her because her weight is so off the charts... but any 'normal person' dose is not likely to be very effective... especially because she is essentially self-triggering constantly.

Her breakfast is something... a dozen eggs??? Her daughter is on her way to being the same as Mom. The son is surprisingly skinny. Her face is misshapen by all the fat, but on younger photos she was quite pretty. I hope she does well and goes back to being a pretty woman. She is only a year older than me! Still a young woman with plenty of potential, if only she reaches for it!

Hi all! I am a bit late joining you because I was checking in on my Mom who literally just arrived in her hotel in Houston (a couple miles up the street from Dr. Now's office!) at the same time the show started. She said the traffic was absolutely horrendous and she got motion sickness, thank goodness for the kind cab driver who helped her walk into the hotel. Eating habit tonight is leftover jambalaya and probably a piece of salmon (I am not sure if it's still good so I am going to cook it and then I will taste it, if anything's off I will toss it)
-
On the other hand, it can be easier to change one's habits if your old environment was full of enablers and/or factors driving you to eat. Here she had to boot her 'eating buddy' all by herself instead of physically moving away from him. That takes more guts... though if she is capable of being decisive in this aspect, she can also apply the same decisiveness to her diet.

I think her face has really changed vs. early in the episode. Now it's just a round face but it was almost grotesque in the beginning.

I can't even imagine what a goal of 150 sounds like to someone who is 400+ lb. But on the upside, she already has lost more than 150lb from her highest weight.
-
Probably the most genuine 'unburdening' conversation I remember seeing on this show. Though red-headed Justin also had some good ones... and he was (and as far as I know, still is) a great success.

Ugh, sorry to hear that. Yeah, last several years either my Mom or I or both would get sick over the holidays. Last year it was whatever stomach virus was going around Massachusetts, only a couple days but still. Before that it was mild respiratory symptoms for a couple years.. hopefully this year was the last time it happened and next year we will have a really fun holiday week!
-
Her daughter is not too bad off yet, but if she continues on this track, she will be 500 lb herself in a few years. She is 19 but looks 30 and her weight is not helping...

Yeah, when he said that, I just about choked. I hope he is clean now.. I have never known any drug addicts, but I know three guys who used to be alcoholics who have now been sober for 20+ years and still going strong... so I know it's possible if you have strong motivation.

Mine was COVID confirmed by two tests. I never lost appetite - my Mom and my friend who both got it from me, unfortunately, did. I strongly believe in the magic of chicken soup so that's what we made and ate - good thing Cornish hens come in twos, first we used one, then the other. Also good thing that my Mom didn't start feeling bad until I started to feel better, we only really overlapped for one day when we were both sick. And I was only really badly off for three days, Mom for two days, otherwise it was more nuisance symptoms than anything really bad.
-
Ah. Here comes the catch - Mark was an addict. But sounds like he is clean now. Hopefully they both help each other stay out of addictions.

I think we did have one or two moderate successes, not runaway ones where they went all in right away, but at least a couple people did get to the surgery stage.
-
That sucks... Last week I needed to do laundry because my Mom was also sick, and we were both sweating through at least one set of bedding through the night. I went downstairs to load it in, and then back up - and my heart rate was into 130s as if I ran up five floors instead of walking up one floor... My heart rate is still high and spikes with any exertion, so I think I will cancel the swimming lesson I am supposed to have on Friday, I don't think I am up for it yet. And it wasn't even any kind of severe disease.
-
Mark seems earnest and is actually quite handsome when he looks directly at the camera instead of from under his eyebrows. That stomach is the fattest/thickest I remember seeing on this show!
-
It's only 9:08 and we are already heading into the surgery! That should leave us plenty of time for post-surgery follow-ups. Hopefully she is another success.
-
Wow, she lost 36 lb which is more than her (admittedly, easy) goal. I am going to let myself feel cautiously optimistic!
-
Hey, in this show, as long as you have teeth, a shirt and shoes - you are a king/queen!
-
Where is the catch with the husband? He has all his teeth, he drives, he works out, he encourages her, he doesn't push food on her... Though she is not a low-life like some poundticipants, and they met through her work, so maybe there are no gory secrets there, just two people who fell in love.
