But damn it Armchair Critic he seemed to be on the upswing at the end of his episode. This news so completely breaks my heart. I guess we never really know what beats inside the human heart do we?

Lovely, kind Diana (the one Dr. Now told to stop losing weight) posted a sweet tribute to LB on her Facebook page. Apparently these folks become friends with each other.

Those organizations should reject any money from her because she's the poster gal for unwillingness to do anything about the condition.

I think someone should ask the question, "What percent of the proceeds from the sale of NO BS merchandise goes to PCOS research?" on the next "Ask Whitney." I'll lay odds you will NOT get an answer!

So she claims she has PCOS, and I am not doubting that, but she isn't bringing awareness to that disease other than blame as to why she is huge. Her no B.S stuff site is comical  ( please don't you all rush out to book her for your next event )

Whitney is a seasoned public speaker, available for keynote speeches at universities and conferences worldwide. Book her to lead discussions at your event or sit on a panel.

        * there should be a disclaimer that if you pay her airfare, be prepared to shell out double the cost for the extra seat for her to fit &  she will probably  want to bring a companion because she is needy like that.

Do we even know if any of her No B.S proceeds go to any PCOS research or is she just pocketing it all ?  I am so tired of her being the "victim" - many other people have PCOS and don't use that always as an excuse to be a shitty person and why she can't lose weight.

According to the "No Body Shame" store, "a portion" of the proceeds goes to the National Eating Disorders Association and the PCOS Foundation. Of course, "a portion" could be "1% of the profits" ......

  4. Well, my eating habit tonight was mushrooms stroganoff over orzo, with a green salad and some lowfat low carb peach yogurt. However, I got so frustrated with a music download (I'm trying to download music from Amazon for my waterproof MP3 player for swimming) that had anything unhealthy been available, I would have demolished it. Anger is a trigger for me.... I guess I want to "swallow" my anger, and it goes down easier with crunchy cookies.

She banned me from her Instagram for making a comment about bad lifting form being dangerous.

It's very likely that she is, because when she wasn't officially past the cutoff she made a big deal of presenting her A1C numbers.

Jillian Michaels has PCOS. She was also obese at one point (5'3" tall, 175 lbs, BMI 31) and isn't now because of her diet and exercise. That's a role model.

I didn't know Jill had PCOS. I knew she had been obese. That must be one of the reasons that Mouse carried their child.

I lift weights consistently, and I can say that for a normal woman (i.e. not using steroids), it takes a LOT of work to build significant muscle. Doing Crossfit once a week is not going to cut it.

I also lift consistently. My upper arms have actually *decreased* in size (along with the rest of me.) I'm a hella lot stronger, though.

Ugh. I just checked out that Fat Girl Flow stuff which isn’t so much a clothing line as it is a blog. The woman who writes it and Whitney are a match made is delusional heaven. She tried all that time to get a endorsement gig from Torrid but that’s a real business that wanted nothing to do with Whitney. Now it seems she’s trying with this ‘influencer’s’ business. I didn’t see any reference to Whitney on the blog but I couldn’t stomach (no pun intended) reading much of it.

And yes - they  sell crop tops. YUCK!! Oh and triangle  bralettes up to size 44j. Sorry to tell you but if you have 44J girls you need underwire.

I wouldn't even put my 42G in those. (But I don't wear underwire.)

Donna has always been a shadowy character. We saw more of her in S-5 than the other 4 seasons combined.

My Q is: where's Heather? She's been conspicuously absent from Twit's SM account since last year's cruise. Lots of Buddy, however, who no longer lives in Greensboro.

Sweatney's latest FB posting is shilling for a clothing line for SMO called "FatGirlFlow." And ermagud, the curly wig has her barnacles swooning.

Right, but, there's no space to insert the purchase price for property on a Warranty Deed. There are places for the parties names, location of property, etc., but, not purchase price.   So, where would the price be listed as public record?

Tax records for the municipality in which the property is sold. Most locations these days have online searchable real property databases.

Let me save y'all some time: none of the cuts in the video are longer than 20 seconds.

Yeah, I think most people know adoption is a little more complicated and lengthy a process than adopting a fish from the pet store.  It takes years of vetting, paperwork, and expenses even for stable, normal couples.  Social services isn't going to just toss a baby to a super morbidly obese* reality star and her friend who happens to live in the same house.

*I believe Whit is 5"1 and I'm guessing around 400 lbs.  That means she has a BMI of 75.5.  For reference, a healthy BMI is 19 - 24.9.  Overweight is 25 - 29.9, obese is 30 - 34.9,  morbidly obese is 35 - 39.9, and super morbidly obese is over 40.

Not quite. SMO is a BMI > 50.0 according to the NIH. But Sweatney still qualifies as SMO.

I have no idea what shenanigans TLC pulled with their My 600-lb Life schedule, but there is no new episode listed on my cable guide for the foreseeable future—even though I saw a new episode listed a few weeks ago that was to air tomorrow night. And a poster on reddit put up this screen grab from Titan TV showing there had been new episodes scheduled and now there are none.

Two things: where the hell is the end of the Sean and Dottie episode?! and apparently Pauline is back to her old tricks after making it appear on her last follow up show that she turned a corner towards becoming a normal human being.

My DirecTV guide shows "Rena and Lee's Story" Thursday  at 8 PM. It's NOT a WATN episode. There's no episode scheduled for Wednesday, which is weird.

This is a good point. If she could manage to do this for 20-30 minutes (rather than 20-30 seconds) 2x a day she would make a lot more progress than her pseudo-CrossFit stuff.

Of course I’ve always said she just needs to start walking every day. But that isn’t fun to record and post online so it isn’t happening.

Honestly, she ought to be doing water yoga or water Pilates. Or just walking in the water. Then work her way up to a full-fledged water aerobics class.

Note to my post above (I couldn't do an ETA for some reason): for an extra laugh, enlarge the video so you can only see her face. I swear, she looks so much like Steven Assanti when he "dances," it's spooky.

ETA: Boy, the lymphodema on her thighs is getting really bad.

First thing I thought was...lymphedema. Second thought: Dayum, her knees are as big around as my thighs. And I'm not a tiny thang.

The whole “food as comfort” and “food as reward” thing leaves a lot of victims who learned from a young age that this IS how you comfort or reward yourself.

Wow, that is an amazing success story!

Yep. Maybe he's part unicorn, but I don't see any glitter :-D.

Totally OT... every time I see your name Phil Ochs's song starts in my head.

I can say that at 5 years, he had not regained. After that, I lost touch so I can't say for sure.

Okay, so being the nosy beeyotch that I am, I looked him up on FB. He does appear to have gained maybe 40# back, but (a) it's been 40 years; (b) 40 back from 400 lost is not so bad; and (c) he's almost 80. So I'm sure he's not as active as when he lost the weight.

I find Lupe's personality deeply, deeply unappealing and my mind boggles at what Gilbert and Andrew's mothers must have done to them as boys to turn them into men who want to be with her. However, if I saw a child or a dog with a busted up hip like that and a leg hanging like that I would consider it beyond cruel not to help get that fixed. Even though Lupe's "the scale is not accurate" attitude is total garbage, and Dr. Now was probably already sick of her shit, I still think she needed that hip issue addressed first thing. I realize that being Canadian I have a different mindset toward universal healthcare, but I can't see how anybody in the medical profession could ethically see her hip and not fix that thing ASAP.

Given her weight, it would be counterproductive to operate on the hip. A hip replacement would most likely fail, possibly shattering the femur and leaving her worse off.

Her collection of Blue Ridge photos saddens me because they look so boring. Like she spends most of her time enjoying the hospitality amenities and takes a couple pics out the window, instead of partaking in outdoor activity. It's gorgeous up there, especially during the summer, and staying inside is so depressing.

I'm not saying this is factual, obviously, but her IG photos tell me her idea of a fabulous mountain trip involves mostly staying indoors and relishing in creature comforts. I really hope she chose to be active within the beautiful scenery, and that her social media postings are just filler to get people hanging on for the new season of MBFFL.

How the heck could she be active? She can barely walk. I guess she could zip around on her mobility scooter.

Just wanted to clarify that I don't mean literally not gaining even one single pound back.  The body's metabolism would undergo significant changes during this time, and gaining some amount back is understandable.  But that is not the same as gaining it all back, and then some.

I can say that at 5 years, he had not regained. After that, I lost touch so I can't say for sure.
