I also miss the cheesiness that was the Walk of Dead Survivors. Along with Jeff cutting through the jungle with a machete, flying in on a chopper, riding on the back of an alligator, whatever. It was eyeroll-inducing, but it was fun. According to Dalton Ross in Entertainment Weekly, Chelsea was not shown much because she didn’t give good interview. Not animated or cocky enough, I guess, which makes me think I would like her.

With all the concern about the Wendell/Dom partnership and how it needs to be broken up, it seems Laurel and Donathan should be a little more discreet about their own partnership. They just painted a big target on their own backs, I think.

So Franco tormenting and invading the privacy of strangers was just a way to introduce a new character, the one who wants to meet in person. Let’s just hope he has some torment of his own to unleash. Can we get a spinoff soap centered around Drew and Curtis? They can solve mysteries, fight crime, or just hang out being generally awesome. As is, their scenes are the best thing going on this show.

Just watched Wednesday’s episode. Griffin’s refusal to empathize with Ava’s situation AT ALL put me firmly on Team Ava, a place I am not accustomed to being. But then the return (hopefully brief) to scar anxiety pushed me away. Why don’t you want me to like Ava, Show?? Griffin sizing up Dr. Creepy at the hospital makes me think he’ll be the one running to Kiki’s rescue, soon. Please can we not revisit the Ava/Kiki/Shared Boyfriend scenario? It’s so icky.

Exactly. The tribe majority wanted to vote for Donathan or Jenna. With Jenna immune, the revote would have landed on Donathan, without a doubt. With the added irony of Jenna’s original vote putting him in that position. When Donathan said in his interview that he didn’t want to be like that guy who neglected to use his idol on a friend who could have helped him out later on, I was yelling at the screen: “Don’t be like that guy who used his idol on a friend who voted him out instead!” He came so close to being Erik The Sequel. I’m really glad he didn’t.

So how long will it take before Nelle replaces Carly’s pills with something that will induce a psychotic episode?

Drew is so lucky!! What would he do without Sam looking out for him? He’s so weak and defenseless on his own.

But there’s no time for that! The way the show is racing through this story, Mike will be dead or in hospice care before they could do the interviews and complete the background check. I find this whole thing very irritating, because not only is the subject personally relevant to me, it’s a story that could be both informative and have a huge emotional impact if they just took a little time with it. This used to be where soaps really excelled. For example, with the Stone/Robin/AIDS story, they really took you on the whole journey. If I’m being honest, at the time I felt like it was moving at a snail’s pace, but in the end all the emotion was earned and the impact was huge. This Alzheimer’s story will wrap up and be forgotten in a month. She said she would testify on Mike’s behalf if she got the agreement in writing. But then weren’t they heading to court immediately? I hope Diane scribbled something on a napkin and got it signed along the way. I admit, I only half pay attention during the current Sam/ Jason nonsense, but didn’t Sam just say she wanted to leave Aurora behind and go back to her real passion (insert eye roll), PI work? Something about not being suited to dressy office clothes? So why is she jerking Drew around by telling him she wants to stay on as partner?

Almost makes me miss her “Joss is Corn” days. Weird is at least better than boring. Yes! That was the most interesting part about that whole storyline, to me. I’m not a big Ava fan in general, but I do enjoy her in unexpected pairings like this one, and with Nicholas. Having Ava and Jason develop a friendship, or even a mutual respect based on shared experience may have brought out new dimensions in both characters. But I guess the writers feel 2 dimensions are enough, at least for Jason. i was going to say something else about Jason and Sam and fate, but thinking about it made me fall asleep.

I was certain that all the cockiness and proclamations that her plans were right on track were setting us up for a Kellyn blindside. When that didn’t happen, I figured it was just misdirection to throw us off. I hadn’t even considered that it could be part of a winner’s edit instead. Damn. Now I’m worried, too. LOL. Good point.

I like Donathan, so I was glad to see him get the idol. But I wish Michael somehow could have found the other half. That would be a fun alliance. Generally speaking, I think this is one of the most likable casts ever. Right now, I would be happy with any of the following winning: Michael, Dom, Laurel, Wendell, Donathan. Neutral on Sebastian, Jenna and Chelsea because they are almost invisible, so nothing really to go by. I used to like Angela but now she kinda scares me. The only one I actually dislike is Kellyn, and she’s really just a minor irritant. Usually there are so many more people to hate/ root against!

I am very pleasantly surprised by how much I like Kim! I really hated TB’s version of Carly (it deviated too much from Sarah Brown’s portrayal for me), so I was not looking forward to her return. But this role suits her much better, IMO, and it’s nice to have a female character who acts like a sensible independent adult rather than a clingy dope who lives in service of her man. (I’m looking at you, Sam. And Liz. And Nina.) Ugh, yes. Liz even turned her head away at one point, like she was also disgusted by the whole thing. I just assumed Nelle lured them both away, as part of her idiot plan. This. I really like the way they’re handling this story so far, and I find Kiki’s reactions very realistic. Also, if Kiki were to confide in Epiphany, Pip would put an end to that crap like, yesterday. And then the story would be over.

This. (Although the “model citizen” line did make me cringe because, really, Kevin?? But then Franco’s reaction to it made it better.) I had forgotten about this. In fact, hadn’t Jason and Sam called it quits for awhile, and had just decided to give it another try before he got shot, or something? I must be wrong, because clearly they cannot live without each other. Carly says so! Haven’t seen this yet, but please God, no. Don’t drag Maxie down into that void of vanilla blah that is Michael. Say what you will about Carly, one thing she is not is stupid. Until now. That’s possibly the most irritating thing about this whole debacle.

Oh, the irony...had Chris decided not to risk his vote for a chance at extending his immunity options, he would have had no choice but to play the idol tonight and would have been saved, in spite of his faulty instincts and overinflated ego. I did think that playing the Ghost Island game was a no-brainer. Nobody wants to give up their vote, but with so many players in the mix, how much would one individual vote be worth anyway? (Absolutely nothing, as it turned out, haha). A better dilemma might have been created if playing the game put the immunity itself at risk. But Chris looked so shocked and humbled at the vote that I actually felt bad for him. At least until I saw this.

As a viewer who only knows Roger Hogarth from his work on GH (never saw OLTL), I like him and I’m glad he’s on the show. But I do wish he could have stayed Todd Manning or been given a different character. Franco as a character has always been problematic and the writers have not helped matters any by trying to short-cut the redemption arcs. IMO, they missed a big opportunity when the big Tumor Of Culpability was revealed. At that time, Franco could have been horrified by the fact that he was driven to do things that were beyond his control. He could have done some real soul searching and expressed genuine remorse. Instead, he basically shrugged and said “Not my fault. Tumor did it.” So unless and until the writers make Franco take responsibility for his actions, or at least feel bad about them, I don’t see how the character can ever be redeemed, no matter how many excuses they hand him. In other matters, I agree that Joss and Oscar are boring. Kiki is boring. As are Michael, Molly and TJ. The entire younger set is nice and kind and lacking in personality. Remember when Liz first appeared and was a cigarette smoking, school ditching semi-delinquent? And teenage Brenda, who was self-centered and conniving? Even Kiki, when she was introduced, was a poker-playing scam artist. I’m not saying there isn’t room for characters who are good hearted, but some of them need to have more of an edge if there is to be any chance of interesting drama amongst the younger set. And Nelle doesn’t count. She’s just an idiot.

Hi all! First post in this forum. I’ve been enjoying everyone’s comments, but am usually too far behind in my viewing to contribute. But having just watched Wednesday’s show, I gotta ask: WhyTF did Morgan have a giant bottle of cologne at Ava’s place? He never lived there, did he? Or did he just walk around with it in his back pocket, for stink emergencies? i haven’t cared for Sonny in a long time, but his behavior with this Alzheimer’s storyline is particularly irritating. I’m in a similar situation now, and while it can be easy to make mistakes in dealing with it at first, you learn. There’s no excuse for making the same mistake (i.e. yelling or getting angry) over and over. Put someone else first for once, jackass.

The best thing about this vote is that it happened before the merge— No Bradley on the jury. Chelsea looks like Annie Wersching. It’s still early, but Michael is getting what looks suspiciously like a winner’s edit. At the least, I’m pretty confident he will be around for awhile.

This! Bluffing about double immunity was a great play. Telegraphing where the vote was going was not. Fear is a great motivator, and this may have pushed someone to make a move.

I don’t understand what makes Michael’s plan so brilliant. All he offered those two was a chance to move from the bottom of one alliance to the bottom of another one. And since he straight up said who his alliance was voting for, they knew they were in no danger. So why should they risk it? Now, if he had said something like “two of us are safe. All of us are voting for one of you, but we’re not telling which one. So in order to save yourself, you can try voting for someone else in your own alliance and hope that tilts the balance away from you.” Or something. All I know is, the offer he made, the way he made it, had almost no chance of succeeding.
