Ditto, love the way the exposition was layered between 3 sets of inquiries:  the Isaacson brothers learning about Beechum, Kreizler/Moore learning about Japheth Drury and Sarah Howard finding the box of momentos (bones).

I cannot wait to see this facial tic!

It has to be some tic!

  2. I was very confused as to who really was the killer. Thanks to those great explanations posted!

    That ending was brutal.

And how does Conner think he is going to get away with leaving a trail of dead bodies? Mary could be explained away but he shot Willem, a man from a wealthy family!

I don't know....I have to wonder if this is all a publicity stunt orchestrated from JB himself to stir up interest in them again...any publicity is good publicity, after all, isn't it? He and Michelle are addicted to the attention. It wouldn't totally surprise me. I doubt that Derick would make enemies with Jim Bob.

If Jill's friends and family are 'turning their backs on her', boy, what kind of friends and family are they? This isn't a 'chritian thing' to do so a family member, is it? They forgave Josh how many times for his horrific behavior. This stuff pales in comparison...yet they're quick to write Derick and Jill off? Something doesn't add up here to me.

I know what you mean but maybe Josh was excused because one, he was young, and two he "confessed" his awful sins blaming the devil etc.... Derick isn't apologizing. Now if it is publicity, I don't think its making the Duggars (or their type) look very good.

  4. I feel kind of sorry for Jill. Here she thought she met the man for her.... he was somewhat bohemian, doing missionary work, but had an education. But she rushed into this and now look. Friends and family turning their backs on her. And she is stuck.

That is some bullshit right there. I'm wondering now if Jim Bob thought that giving the girls cars was their compensation for being on the show.

I hope Jeremy blew up the contracts.  I can see where Derick would be bitter that Jeremy was paid immediately while he volunteered for a chunk of his time on camera.  Still, it was Jim Bob that was the cheat not TLC.

I do feel for Jill if she feels responsible for their financial situation.  She was medically negligent when it came to Izzy's birth but the c-section was inevitable based on Israel's positioning.

Out of all the Duggar "spouses" I can see Jeremy being in savvy enough to deal with JB and TLC. I also think he has his own money.

And to me the fondue looked fab. I have two fondue pots but haven't used them in a while.  I guess it is all a matter of personal preference.  As mentioned above The Melting Pot is a fondue restaurant that seems to be popular enough to stay in business over the years.  You can also get other things to dip, like hot oil and meat, shrimp, etc. or boiling broth and meat, chocolate and fruit and poundcake.

I love fondue, but I am a huge cheese person. I've been to Melting Pot. I always smell like meat when I leave from all the meats cooking in oil. I'm not as fond of that part. The desserts are awesome.

I was glad to see Jinger and Jeremy doing something interesting and active, and I liked Jinger's very tennis-appropriate clothes!  I can imagine some of her sisters would have tried to play in flip-flops.  That said, I couldn't understand why they didn't just volley back and forth.  Jinger had only played once before, so it was unkind to keep score.  I'd guess Jeremy is competitive, but it seemed petty.

Did anyone else think that the "aftertaste" that Austin and Joy noticed in their fondue was probably wine?  Poor Joy worried about the water, but that wasn't what she should have worried about!

I thought the tennis looked fun. Nice to see them doing something active and she looked great. I don't blame him for keeping score, I would have done the same.

I thought the same think about the aftertaste. The alcohol gets cooked off but the taste is there. When I make fondue I use white wine and swiss.

  7. My husband said TNT spent all their money on The Alienist which he doesn't like so he is ticked at this news. I like The Alienist, but they really threw a lot of money behind it with advertising and contests.

And I agree about Noah Wylie. I can live with him not being on the show that much.

I understood Tami's fear about not having any help to get her to Houston, she was scared. I did, however notice that it was when Dr. Now first said that he would take her as a patient and eventually get her to weight loss surgery that James starting backing off! And getting kind of mean to her again. (I thought he must have gotten off his bi polar meds or something there was such a drastic change in hi.  He said in the beginning, he liked Big Women, so was that part of it for him?

Sometimes I think these relationships are so unhealthy. The spouse wants a fat woman. Woman wants to get healthy, and without  the roles of caretaker and "patient" dynamic it just doesn't work.

I don't mean to be cruel here, but honestly when they married, Tami was still a knock out even a big size. Poor James, sheesh, somebody hit him with an ugly stick at that age.  SO I think Tami settled for him, thinking she couldn't do any better.

Oh my gosh, yes! She could have done better looks wise.

I agree.  Tamy was mostly decent and definitely had some internal demons to overcome, but was annoying at times.  Her full blown tantrum about James sabotaging her progress because he wasn't going to move her to Houston was a pretty childish and melodramatic.  He's taken care of her even well past the time when they were husband/wife, lets her live in the house and really seems to care about her.  Isn't he allowed to move forward?  Yet another subject who made the world revolve around themselves.  "No one is helping, woe is me!".  However, on the spectrum of narcissism, she was only a little over the line so it was more bearable.  That and the fact that she pulled herself together made me want her to succeed.

I like these stories way more than the train wrecks, unfortunately we haven't even posted more than a single page whereas by the day after the episode aired Lisa had  bout 10 pages.  Not ratings gold, I'm afraid.

I stayed with the whole show because I liked to see someone progressing. I usually watch just bits and pieces of the trainwrecks or turn them off.

  10. I also admired her from not cheating over the drama with her husband. And despite him being a jerk, he did take care of her and encourage her.

I did read the mass hasn't been removed yet.

  11. On another site, I saw an update from her daughter in law. She said that Tamy is a very sweet and kind woman and an amazing grandmother. Her husband and her were not on the show due to work conflicts (plus they have kids). I guess she is still doing well. I thought she said she got the mass removed.

I was very proud of how she did. I cheered at that last weigh in!

Wow, isn't that going down the road of Hannibal Lector??  Didn't he start out as a brilliant Psychiatrist and then end up to be a psychotic killer?

On Sara(h?)  I got the impression that she "strategically" let it out that Kreizler had caused her harm..  But again IMHO when she went in for the hug.. they showed this look on her face that seemed to say she was manipulating Moore to go after Kreizler for it..  So I think she is playing a game between the 2 dudes.., which is the part of this show I am not interested in.

I was thinking about why she is doing this if this is the case. It seems to me when it comes to romance, she is on the sidelines. So maybe this is her chance to play the game?

Lazlo and Mary : probably not a good idea. I get that Mary has feeling for her boss and therapist - but - he is her boss and therapist who practically raised her. Also, Lazlo will probably have internal conflicts related to their different stations in society (a big deal at the time).  This will not end well..

Lazlo got his own type of beat-down from Cyrus's niece this time. It was good to help  Lazlo  open his eyes to the people around him, but she was pretty harsh. I almost wanted Lazlo to tell her that she could collect Cyrus' things and give him a place to stay and a job if she thought she could do better.

Speaking of harsh, it appears that almost every character in the show who is educated and/or wealthy feels entitled to say horrible things to other people.

I think that is probably how many people like that act, especially for that time period.

Can someone explain why Lazlo cut the boys body in the beginning and then apologized?

I wondered about that too and then I thought he might be trying to get inside the mind of the killer.

Moore has to stop drinking. Its not good for him!

I actually didn't dislike either of them in this episode. I think a lot of the annoying scenarios are likely setups by the producers to make the show more interesting ("why don't you see if you can buy the tickets in German?"), so I'm not necessarily holding that against them.

I know lots of people think Joy is the dimmest of the girls, but I still think that title belongs squarely to Jill. Joy at least seems like she would be fun to hang out with, whereas Jill would probably be more like a wet rag. And Austin may not be the bubbliest of personalities, but it still seems he has a decent sense of humor.

I do agree. I would be curious to see them without the cameras, though then I wouldn't see them!
