  1. I freely admit I didn't read this carefully all the way through, but when it showed up in my inbox, I immediately thought of this tread. https://www.tastingtable.com/cook/national/trader-joes-budget-meals?utm_medium=email&utm_source=TT&utm_campaign=Weekend&utm_content=Editorial
  2. There was a short piece on All Things Considered today: http://www.npr.org/2017/04/24/525406271/two-stars-share-the-stage-and-the-roles-in-little-foxes I saw it was extended, but it will still close before I'm up there at the end of August. Ah well...

I was there (it's going to be that season where the Os lose every Sunday game. Sigh...). All I kept yelling during the whole thing was "I have dinner reservations!" Because I did. Thank goodness, because if dinner hadn't been fabulous, the day would have been a total loss.
  4. Peeps with pencils and scissors stuck through them, then covered with stage blood and put in the window of my office at the theatre to scare the kids is the best use of Peeps ever! I really must see if I can find that picture...
  5. I'm planning on seeing Rhiannon Giddens in a couple of weeks by myself since Mr. ebk is working and I don't think any of my friends are interested (although I haven't asked yet...) If you really want to go, go!
  6. Okay...I know if you quote yourself you could go blind... So remember when I wasn't going to buy a subscription? Well, I did. I'm not sure what came over me.
  7. Zinoman was interviewed on All Things Considered today. My boss very rudely came into my office in the middle of it, but what I heard was good. I'll listen to the rest later. http://www.npr.org/2017/04/17/524393134/-the-epitome-of-new-york-cool-letterman-biographer-on-late-night-icon

A Google search ways he's eligible to come back April 20th. I emphasize Google search because I don't want anyone to think I'm a Mets fan. Ever.

  11. I loved Keenan standing in front of Sasheer so it looked like he was wearing the Diana Ross wig.
  12. That is exactly the word I couldn't get through! I tried to read that sentence at least 6 times to him and couldn't say "toenail" - I just laughed. He thinks I'm nutz. He may be right.
  13. This made me laugh so hard I couldn't even read it to Mr ebk when he asked me why I was laughing so hard.
  14. Sasheer was on Fresh Air this week. Ann Marie Baldonado interviewed her and was fine, but I wish Terry Gross had done this piece. http://www.npr.org/2017/04/13/523684973/to-get-to-snl-comic-sasheer-zamata-followed-the-fun
  15. That Indy Star piece is absolutely beautiful. @biakbiak, the pie is beautiful too!! And, BTW, Happy 70th Birthday Dave! Well, as happy as it can be under the circumstances.
  16. This is very sad news. 95 is a good, long life...but I'm still sad.

So really...one of the few days I'm home "working" from my couch...and this is the game that has to be on MLBN?? I can't stand Michael Kay... and yet, it's still on my TV. Go figure. I guess Yankee baseball is better than no baseball - barely. ;-)
  18. As long as we're posting seasons - the National Theatre in DC actually has a decent one for the first time in about forever: Mean Girls - the new Tina Fey musical in production this fall Les Mis Something Rotten Waitress and...if you buy the 5 show package, Hamilton at the Kennedy Center! I'm actually tempted to buy a subscription. But I won't.

They do not go longer into the song because there's only so much time during the 7th inning stretch. They even cut out some of the instrumentals for time constraints.

It's so cold here, we have a fire going. In April. Which is just wrong. And it's supposed to be 80 on Monday... They play "Country Boy" at the stadium because......... that's what they've always done. John Denver came and sang in person for Game One of the '83 Series. I don't know why it started, but it did. They changed it up for a short time, but after some complaints, went back to it. Yay team!

Back in the olden days, a team would open and always have the next day off. I always thought it was in case there was weather. I never looked into it, but that was my theory. Now, since the Reds no longer start first, everything is random. Now, get off my lawn.
