Michael Voorhees takes HORRIBLE photos. I can’t believe this is the guy they brought in to shoot he cover shot. None of the shots they shot of poor Lacey are good at all. Especially not cover worthy. alexis looks amazing and she looks like a cover girl and has the best bathing suits.

The suits they are trying on look way better than they did in the IG photos i saw!

I’ve worked in reality TV for 15, Its highly unlikely she’s sitting in a suite or deciding the order names are called in the final edit. There just isn’t time for that and Kelli is acually IN training camp when this edit happened. Side note: just rewatched and there was zero drama or buildup around Kashara. If there was any malace there, the show producers picked up on none of it and exploited it for drama points in. O way at all. Either nothing happened here, or the producers were oblivious to it. She in no way looks like she’s been crying.

You might watch an hour special, but I can guarantee most viewers (and probably not even us here) would not tune in for 13 hours of no-stakes television. Shooting costs about $5000/day, plus extra edit to ingest and review, this will never happen. They might toss it into VO, but remember that the show is “making the team” and is about who does make it. There isn’t time (on screen) to explore all the details like this. Producer like this has way less input than you think. She will watch the show, but she’s not going to have a ton of input on the small details. She might not even watch it herself. They might just have lawyers that watch. How have I never noticed anyone actually saying this besides here!! Ha!

You guys crack me up. I can guarantee you that CMT took zero time trying to turn Keyra into some kind of villain. She was getting cut, so it’s not like there is a benefit to turning her into a charachter for the :30 left in the show by the time the vets showed up. They were foreshadowing the cuts constantly by showing her and Selena whenever they could (including the kicking shot), but I guarantee you there is no reason to spent time making her look anything since we will never see her again. Your connection is correct. I work in reality and EPs like KF and CJ are in name-only. They probably have a list of sensitivities that they avoid and “they” (their assistants) likely watch the show 2 times for anything that makes them look bad, but creative control always lies with the production company/network. They get to choose who to feature, they will edit the order of names called for drama and they might suggest a few good options to take to TC for drama (almost certainly that is at DCCs discretion). They aren’t going to give up very much creative control in a contract. It’s just the way the reality world works. That said, the actual decisions about the team are solely with DCC. No way they are giving up the creative control on their product any more than CMT will give up creative control on theirs. re: kashara, CMT did almost no ramping up of the drama there. No dramatic pauses or music or lingering shots of a nervous Kashara. All of which they would do if they wanted drama there.

Did anyone else notice Erica’s picture in the studio has been replaced with Maddie?? (I still have to read pages 6 through 13, so this might have been discussed already!)

WHO THE HELL IS JESSIKA!? I think I’ve said is a half-dozen times. I don’t recognize her, I don’t even have a moment of “familiar!”. Booooring. Don’t they call them in order of scores?? Love her so much! She needs to share whatever drugs she is on with Meredith. Hers work Crazy! The full video of it was amazing, it’s super cute and the vets (while they still need to do well and show practice and technique) can have a little more fun with their solos. I loved it. :-) i still have 6 more pages to go (I was on vacation last weeek!!)

I think this is the part that is so easy for us to forget, that a huge part of the job is meeting and greeting people in real life, and that we can’t really see this on a heavily edited reality show. I think Gina came across pretty poorly on the show last season, I think Miranda is boring looking, but this is the important part that we can’t see, and it’s 75% of the job.

I think you are willfully ignoring the dozens of other problematic actions and words of charlotte Jones and the DCC in general when you say you “just saw a judge expressing doubt”. But, it matters only in a social context, because I’m more bothered that they picked one non white person to feature and it’s one who clearly can’t make it and that Kelly would sit there and pretend for the cameras that maybe she has a chance. I mean, the bad wig (on anyone) is enough to get anyone cut well before finals. I keep wondering WTF they are thinking with Brennan. I have zero problems with her, but am not blind and she does have a squish face and there are so many capable girls that are good dancers, (like, hey, why not keep Keyra!?) and the only thing I can think of is that hey REALLY love when girls spend so long trying to get on the team. They have so many terrible rules and only-technically-legal labor practices, that I think they like having people like that on the team, that they know will stay. other random thoughts: I loved Madi, she’s so cute and I like that she looks older (even though I think she’s really only like 22), but she comes across as a little intense. Like “possibly crazy” intense she was first in line. Somehow got herself featured. And from what I saw of her in the freestyle, (which is really enough) is not a good enough dancer!

So who’s DVR picked up the sneak peek!?!? I was so excited to see it today! Show starts on Thirsday!!!! I did spoil myself for the tryouts, only because I can never follow along anyway, they show a million people and I guarantee I still won’t know half of them :-)

Also, the reason that we don’t see much change season-to-season is likely that they have to churn these out so fast, so there is probably an episode map that they don’t deviate from. It makes it easier to just find the bites you need, but just ends up being the same year after year. We all still love it though!

They are hour shows, right? That typically takes 8-10 weeks to finish, and that is fast. They might have the machine working tighter, but 8 weeks is minimum.

Every time I see here like “who is this!? She’s on the team!?!” I’m 99%sure I’m following her on insta and I still don’t know who she is. Shes super cute and yet super boring.

Predicting Jaylin gets a massive hair makeover. Her dancing must be amazing, because that hair is woof. There are a couple sets of “twins” that could be in for some competition. TCC taylor looks a hell of a lot like Erin, which could hurt Erin because she already barely looks and dances like a DCC, but here she is again this year.

Ok - who’s going off IG to go spoiler free for this season !? I didn’t even know/think about spoilers until last year (despite having watched every season!) and I felt like knowing the outcome made it less fun for me! (But there was no way I wasn’t researching any need I could find about what Holly really did!!!! so what are the pros/cons to going spoiler free? Major con being not seeing any IG for like 4 months!!!!

The dance style she excels at is lyrical and that’s exactly what you wear for that style of dance. Lacey wore a similarly flown dress for her lyrical solo. I still side eye it though since we all know her tummy is soft and that’s a pretty convenient costume.

Can I put this here since this is the social media thread? I wish they would fine/suspend for a game/whatever punishment every time a DCC instagrams while driving. They have so much sway with young girls and it drives me insane how many times they are doing boomerangs or lives while driving.

The difference is that Kelli is usually pale and she instead looks like the only black girl Left on the team.
