I don't know if anyone else remembers this, but there used to be a website called The Dirty that would post gossipy stuff. I can't remember if it was Dallas-specific or if you could just filter by city, but they were particularly awful about posting pics/stories of women. I think they posted stuff about men, too, but I mainly remember it being a very misogynistic, slut-shamey site. I remember Chelsea being featured on that site around the time she was a TCC, whoever posted about her said she was a snob and a partier and posted several pictures of her drinking. I'd bet anything that DCC was keeping an eye on that website.

DCC Q&A: Mysteries of the DCC World
aeroluv327 replied to bigskygirl's topic in Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making The Team
I used to do Jay's bootcamps, they are tough! I've met him in person a few times, he is super nice and encouraging during workouts. And his wife is a trainer, too, she is also super nice and so pretty! (She's been one of his helpers on the show before, but not sure if they called out that she was his wife, she has shorter blonde hair.) -
I'm pretty sure Cassie actually tried out the year before she made it to training camp. I remember someone saying that (on here or on the reddit board, can't remember) and I swear I spotted her in the crowd in the season 2 audition episode. It would make sense, when we met her she was 19, not sure why else she would have waited to audition.

I always thought that was odd. They had several girls on the team that were former Flight Crew members (Tara and Savannah were on the current team), they always talk about doing background and reference checks for training camp candidates. I thought Malena was generally very smart and capable, but the way she had such a meltdown when telling them about it was honestly kind of worrying. We all have setbacks in our careers, she could have explained it calmly and talked about what she had done in order to improve on her memory and dance skills.

I always wondered about how she couldn't live without her cat, but then all of a sudden didn't have a problem sending it to another state. (Didn't she end up moving in with Kelsey? Did Kelsey say no cats?) No idea whether she traveled to TX with the cat or not but it sounded like she had the cat by the time training camp started. Or maybe her host family was telling her, "No, you can't bring your cat into the house," maybe she had a temporary cat-sitter in NC but planned on moving the cat to TX after training camp started. I know a few people who have boarded their cat/cats for various reasons (ex: cat needs medicine so they board them somewhere that can do that) but yeah, I think it's way more common to have someone stop by to check on your cat for you. I don't follow her on social media, did she ever get her cat back? LOL now I'm curious.

I don't remember the photographer you're talking about. (I believe you, I just don't remember off the top of my head.) But yes, I know exactly what you're talking about with Kitty grabbing someone's costume! Super creepy and weird. But I also think it's weird to watch Lisa and Kelli put their hands all in the girls' bras while they're fitting them for uniforms. And Kelli asking so many about whether they have implants... yeesh. That stuff offends me way more than the word "bitch."

I'm a woman and it doesn't offend me. The terms he uses (bad bitch, sexy bitch) aren't derogatory. There's a huge difference between a gay man using those terms and a white person using the n-word. Both words can be reclaimed by a stigmatized group. It doesn't bother me for a gay man to use a phrase typically used against women (especially using it in a complimentary context) because those same words are often used in a derogatory sense towards gay men.

To be fair, when I spotted Hannah in the S12 finals auditions, she had really low kicks. I'm guessing that that kept her from getting accepted into training camp previously. But yes, I agree that cutting Hannah was awful. To compliment her on being open about her mental health struggles and then use that as a reason to cut her was just cruel.

I'm almost positive she got cut after prelims the first time. I remember seeing her in S4 (I only remember the season because it was when they were at the Gaylord) packing up her stuff after they announced finalists. I also spotted red head Stephanie (with darker hair) leaving after semis, but can't remember what season/year.

Oh man, that book report was just awful! When I re-watched it on Pluto, it was even worse than I remembered. Poor Meghan just dug herself into a hole, they never could have sent her on any appearances. The "nutritionist" telling the girls that carbonation causes cellulite was such a face-palm moment. That's one of those old wives tales that has been around forever and there is no truth to it, if she really knew anything about nutrition she never would have said that.

It's been a long time since I was apartment-hunting, but I remember most places had a minimum of 6 or 12 month leases. Very few places will do shorter than that or go month-to-month, those that do are usually pretty pricey. You can break the lease sooner, but like in the UK you'll either pay the remainder of the contract or pay a penalty for breaking the lease (which is sometimes just as much as if you paid the remainder contract). Plus, you usually have to give 30 days notice before you move out. Who knows, maybe some girls end up staying in Dallas even if they get cut. Depending on where they are from, they may find more opportunities for work (dance or otherwise) here, or they may want to try out again the next year anyway.

I can understand why most girls wouldn't want to sign a 6 month or year lease if they aren't guaranteed to make the team. It can be hard to find a short term or month to month lease, not to mention month to month can be expensive. I think some girls stay in a hotel through training camp then sign a lease for a more permanent place once they've made the team.

That whole thing was weird. She said she had driven up to Dallas from San Antonio that day (which was believable, it's like 4-5 hours and first meeting isn't until the evening). But she said she had driven from hotel to hotel and there were no vacancies? There are so many hotels in the area, I'm assuming she meant she was looking close to Valley Ranch since that would make sense to be nearby for training camp. But why would she have waited until that day to book a hotel room? And what was (supposedly) going on that every hotel was booked solid? I literally can't think of an event big enough that would have booked every single hotel in the area.

Seriously, it doesn't surprise me that Jerry Jones would have reacted this way to the cheerleaders being violated. (He himself is a well-known sleaze.) But I'm trying to imagine what would happen if my dad found out that one of his employees had done something like that to me. Losing his job would have been the least of his worries.

I was watching S9 on Pluto a while back and noticed that both Emily Roslyn (who had been cut from training camp in S8) and Courtney (the finalist who had been in Bring It On the Musical in S8) were at auditions. Now I can't remember if I saw them at semi-finals or at finals but I always think it's interesting when we don't get any acknowledgement of someone re-auditioning, especially when they got a lot of focus the year before.
