  1. I am probably the only one who thinks this but after everything Jenna has been through, including the embarrassment of having to relive it all on tv, I would love if she were given VOTY any her teammates. I have a soft spot for her and think it must have been difficult to end her DCC run the way she did.
  2. I think I may have jinxed myself when I said my dream triangle would be Lacey, Maggie and Robyn. Maggie's confirmed to be leaving, everyone is talking about how Robyn is potentially leaving and now I'm scared I may have put a curse on Lacey too. Those three leaving would be heartbreaking to me!
  3. “A bad cameo picture could get a girl cut. A good picture will make me more interested in seeing her in the dance studio”
  4. I also found it odd that Kalyssa was made out to be such a star and an "exciting" new veteran that had it all: looks, dance, poise. But she was never invited to the podcast and seems to get less love on the DCC Instagram. I was surprised that Keyra + Selina were both chosen to do the podcast as opposed to some other girls, since we know that Kelly choses which girls do the podcast. Something is definitely up with Kalyssa.
  5. I think the thing that is so crazy about Hannah is that she seemed like a star on Making The Team during her rookie year. She was always singled out in a positive way, and just made it all look so easy. If anything, I thought she was kinda thin - more athletic build than the usual DCC. I thought that she and Melissa were the standouts, and that they'd compete to be the point, or group leaders in their 4-5 years. Cut to a year later and Hannah is completely out. I would never have guessed. It also goes to show you how wrong Kelly, Judy and Kitty are in the rookie years: Mia, Whitney, Danielle were not standouts in their rookie seasons, and ended up all being 5 year vets, group leaders, etc. And they kept calling Heather O pastel last season... Melissa even called Kelly saying she didn't have what it takes. The next year, bam - Kelly is saying how Heather had a fantastic year, and she's a 2nd group leader. I'm interested to see what rookies this year come back next year and get rave reviews: I've never seen them live but I feel like Molly, Lexie, Miranda seem like they'll be there for the longterm and it's possible that Kalyssa may not have had as big of an impact on the team as I would have guessed. You can kinda see who Kelly likes based on the rookies she's chosen for the Podcast, and what girls are named DCC of the week.
  6. They thought Ann Lux wasn’t happy and smiley enough and didn’t want to be there. Yet Cassie admitted (on this season) she was not a super smiley happy go lucky person and to own it. She didn’t just admit it, she offered it as advice. This is the part that gets me.
  7. I don't know anything about the medical profession or field either. What I do know is that there is a certain pride and sense of accomplishment that nurses have in obtaining their titles and status. I am sure that is why people are pointing this out on the board; not to bad mouth or punish Carsten but because they've worked hard (or known someone who has worked hard) to earn their title. Food for thought: If a girl misrepresented herself and said she was a group leader or said she was in showgroup when she wasn't, you can be sure Kelli and Judy (and Shelly) would NOT tolerate that! We've even seen @ShellyB make pretty snide comments about another former DCC who didn't even finish her full first year. I love Shellys participation on this board, don't get me wrong, but she did make it seem like the former DCC wasn't a "real" DCC. "Coat tails" if I remember corrrectly. Imagine if the reverse happened and someone claimed to be an official Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader on a reality tv show about nurses, but they actually only took DCC prep classes.
  8. My dream triangle would be Lacey, Robin and Maggie/Heather O. All are long and lean, beautiful and a great combo of hair colors.
  9. I'm not sure why but this season has lacked the excitement of previous seasons - I thought initially it was because I knew who was making the team and who was cut. But I also didn't know much about the Jenna and Holly drama, so you would have thought that would make this season more interesting. But last night I watched Season 11s second last episode and it was SO MUCH a more interesting. There were still 42 girls that they needed to cut to 36 and while I still knew who was being cut, I felt like they showed more dancing and more consistent commentary about a range of girls. You really had no idea who they were going to cut, and who you should root for. This season there have been so many girls that you knew would (or should) be cut by the first couple weeks of training camp: Brianna, Erin, and honestly even Christina. And the ones I was originally rooting for (Kalyssa and Keyra) seem to be getting more criticism towards the end of the season - I think this is to make the final cuts more suspenseful, but it does a disservice to the team because it's giving the impression that all TCC are a bit lackluster. I'm not an editor, but I wish they would spend equal amounts of time on all the training camp girls - I want to see more or Miranda, Molly, Tara etc. As a gay guy, I never thought I'd say this but I really miss costume fittings this year because it was often the only time you really got a lot of personal stories from the TCC and got a sense of their personalities, sense of humor, etc. I feel like 11 episodes in and I barely know any of the girls except the ones who've been called into the office. This year has felt too much like a promotional video of the Star, the hall of fame museum, and not nearly enough about the actual girls who make up the DCC!
  10. This is very interesting and one of the first times her lack of screen time has made sense.
  11. Where can I find this podcast? Best news ever! edited to add: Doh! You just posted it. Thanks!
  12. Regarding Simone, I can't speak to her injury and I only remember her critiques being "noodly" during TCC but I have to say, I was extremely impressed by how charming and articulate on her live Facebook video with Carsten. I'm a huge fan of Carsten who we know to be intelligent, but I actually thought Simone more than held her own - she came off friendly, bubbly, charismatic and sweet. It wouldn't surprise me if she were "a locker room favorite." I don't think they show enough of the girls' personalities but I can imagine Judy and Kelli take this into consideration when picking the team as well. I think you can also tell who are favorites by who gets selected to go on meet+greets and who they pick to do Live Videos. To be honest, those facebook Q&A videos have been awesome - almost more interesting than the show this season!
  13. Okay, I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but does anyone think maybe Christina would have been cut right before announcing the team if all of the drama didn't go down? K&J sure love to cut a girl on the last night right before announcing the team, and you can tell Christina + Brennan are prime targets for a final night cut, ala Kyndall (who I never really liked) and Amy (poor Amy, I loved and felt so bad for her!) Always makes for a good "ending" to MTT to have a die-hard try-hard comeback girl get cut, as it reinforces how hard it is to make the DCC, and shows the tears and heartbreak for those girls who just don't have what it takes. Christina is lucky to have made the team, and she should be counting her lucky stars for Holly + Ericka's bad behaviour!
  14. It's been said before, but I think it is incredibly telling that Holly was not made a first or second group leader at the beginning of this season. People keep saying she's such a great asset to the team, and she's one of the best dancers but obviously there was another side to Holly if she was looked over as a group leader. An amazing dancer and amazing teammate would be chosen as a group leader, and I think Kelli and Judi already had a certain intuition about her (emotional immaturity, lack of trust, etc) far before this meeting happened. They may have lost a so-called "powerhouse dancer" but they certainly didn't lose a leader or role model in K&Js eyes. The editors were definitely trying to tell us something during the previews when Neal says "That girl definitely knows what she is doing." I also think it really goes to show why they are celebrating Kashara as a leader: shown taking Yuko under her wings, shown to be a fun spirit during the Pink dance party. If I were K&J, ofcourse I would want great dancers but I'd much rather have a great personality who is drama-free, conflict free and cheerful. At the end of the day, these girls are representatives of the organization and spokesmodels who spread cheer - not competitive dancers.
  15. My impression is that Gina is a Little Miss Perfect - I don't think she's had many people criticize her and is used to constant praise. So it caught her off guard when she got negative feedback from Judy and Kelli. I watched the scene a second time and it seemed like Gina wasn't really getting the point of Kelli's questioning. When Kelli asks Gina to tell her something about Tara, I don't think Gina understood that Kelli was trying to see how close she was to Tara. My impression is actually that Gina started to wonder if Tara was the one who said something mean about her behind her back - it's like Gina is trying to process who could have said something about her. That's why she says "Tara is... great!" like she is trying to take the high road instead of saying something bad or critical about Tara. It wasn't until later when Kelli said she should focus on developing relationships where I think Gina understands the point that Kelli is trying to make. But the part I found most revealing is when Gina leaves the building and the girls ask how it went. You can clearly hear her say "all good!" In that moment, Gina cannot admit that she's had negative feedback. That would go against everything that Gina believes of herself. I think Gina is truly one of those people who doesn't know how to be anything but perfect - she cannot accept criticism, she cannot open herself up to vulnerability, and she cannot express honest emotions... she'd rather project the idea that she is perfect all the time. To be honest, she's not the first DCC to give me that impression, but definitely the most painfully obvious, and emotionally immature. It's a little bit Stepford wife and a little bit Taylor Swift. And incredibly inauthentic.
  16. Wow - Thanks for the answer! My question was a hypothetical but never imagined we'd get an answer before seeing it play out on tv! Looking forward to seeing it all play out on TV. Always extra heartbreaking when a girl gets cut twice from Training Camp. I feel like there is always one each year - but we haven't seen or heard much from Brennan and Celinda on the show this season. Definitely no "Comeback girl" episode so far.
  17. My question is: when did Brennan and Celinda get cut? I wonder if they were cut before Holly and Erica left. So many rookies made the team this year, so it's especially sad that 2/5 of the cut girls were returning TCC. Bummer for them!
  18. The mystery continues!!! I love how everyone on this forum is an amateur FBI agent. ??‍♀️?? I wonder if these little editing mistakes will cause any fury with Kelly and Judy, or with the editors/producers of DCC:MTT?? I thought the closed caption mistake was a bad oversight, but only crazy fans (i.e. US!) would ever catch it or read about it. But if the iTunes episode shows Erica, then they DEFINITELY have some explaining to do! I feel like a huge group of fans watch this on iTunes, especially since Time Warner/Spectrum moved CMT to a different tier and many people don't get CMT anymore . If @ShellyB knew the #tea before this episode, I am certain there will be more internal #tea after!!! (I can only imagine the internal discussions about it!). And while I doubt they will ever share it, I just want to say how much I appreciate this forum for being my support group because I definitely was caught off guard and confused when they edited Kashara to be the group leader and made no mention of Erica after seeing so many group leader pics on Instagram.
  19. It's so obvious that it is a conference room (huge conference table with opening in the middle for phones etc) and no computer. So it's really funny to me that someone has to lug in a couple IKEA cube shields and decorate the place to make it seem like it's Kelly's office. I understand them wanting the tradition of doing cuts in the office but they've also done cuts at the stadium in the past and had a makeshift desk and chair. I'm not sure if I hate the conference room but I find the whole decor distracting - I spend all my time looking at whatever items they e decided to put on the shelves, and at the posters behind the girls that keep changing (see last weeks thread). I liked the girls waiting in the exercise room or gym area instead of the parking lot, but the shot of Erin getting cut and then descending in the elevator was ripped straight from The Apprentice. And hasn't that show already ruined enough of our lives! No need to mess with my favorite tv show too!!!
  20. I don't want to be mean but she also doesn't have the hair! Her hair was always terrible!!! Ally is a good example of giving the Vets makeovers because her hair looked worse and worse as she got older, and you'd think she would have mastered some sort of hairstyle by the time she was a 5th year vet!
  21. I think this is one of the biggest differences in how some see the DCC: it is a business and an organization, not a sorority or girl squad of friendship. The alumni mention it over and over when giving advice, and Charlotte and Kelli both stress this as well. I just think if someone asked me to introduce myself and tell me something others don't know, my first response would not be "I can lick my elbow." Surely with such an open ended question and having been through panel interviews where the candidates are asked what books they read, or to name American historical figures, and where leaders continue to stress that you are Americas sweethearts, you'd think (or hope) that they could mention something a little more interesting than one ear being higher than another, etc. The thing about licking your nose begs the question: "yes we didn't know that about you, but does anyone actually care? and do we feel like we know you better now that you've told us?" I didn't mind the carpool karaoke story because she was saying how she loves to sing in the car, and I do feel like it gives me a better understanding of Maddie. I also thought Popcorn Kelly's answer was inane but I guess it also gives you a better idea of who she is and what she likes. I think the biggest "hint" that many of the TCC should take is that they are called *candidates* and not sisters or girls. Candidate is the term you would use for those interviewing for a job. And I would never mention being able to lick my elbow during a job interview or when getting to know someone. I wouldn't mention it on a first date, either, and not because it seems vulgar or whatnot, but because it kind of shows that I have few other interesting qualities. Surely these girls have millions of interesting facts or qualities! I also wish CMT showed more interesting quotes from the meet and greet. We are also subject to seeing only the ones that are included and maybe the 30 other answers were all intelligent, articulate and insightful.
  22. Maybe Whitney should have used this feedback last year when Kelli and Judy said she wasn't smiling enough and also had RBF. Instead of saying "You want me on this team" she could have said "I will be the girl who lays down the law.! My face isn't bitchy, I'm just channeling Cassie!" ???? In all seriousness though, this piece of "advice" was terrible as no other candidate could get away with not smiling and being cheerful. Itreveals how privileged Cassie was to be Judy's daughter. She could get away with things that wouldn't fly for others. And even years later, it continues! I can't even imagine another Alumni giving this advice ("Forget smiling, who cares what Kelli and Judy think about being a positive bright TCC!") - showing that Cassie is *still* benefitting from the comforts of being Judys daughter.

It's funny how people mention it would take more than one treatment to get Katelyns hair color lighter. And yet they take less talented girls with terrible kicks that require weeks of stretching, yoga, and technique into Training Camp. Let a girl go to a salon multiple times! Id think a haircut is a million times easier to make into a DCC than a girl without technique or lowkicks. But guess I'm not the one making the decisions! I think the strangest thing about Katelyn is that they do take the time to show how amazing her kicks are and we never really see any criticism other than her hair, so her "storyline" never feels complete. It would make more sense for 18 year old Brianna to get cut than Katelyn. It's very odd.
  24. I think the second episode with the vet interviews may be foreshadowing for a number of choices that have been made 1- Kelly and Judy talk to Cersten about her future plans for medical school. This informs why she may not have been made a group leader, since she won't be with the team in another year and they'd rather invest in other girls who may stick around longer. I get the sense than Carsten would have been made a group leader and could be a future next JennK if she had long term plans to stick with the team. 2- They show how Kashara has demonstrated being a strong leader and friend by taking in Yuko under her wing. This inclusion might be foreshadowing the reason behind Kashara's "promotion" to group leader. 3- When they run down the second year candidates, Kelly mentions how Heather O has been phenomenal. She's the first girl she lists, and really emphasizes the word "phenomenal" (although they also mention that Maggie had a phenomenal year too). 4- This part I haven't figured out yet but when they speak to Jenna, it doesn't seem complimentary. To me it seemed like they were asking her to "step up" and be a guiding light. As another poster mentioned, it was framed as though they've asked other girls who was their guiding light and that Jenna has never really been that girl. I am interested in hearing how this plays out and if Jenna gets called into the office again based on her punishment of not attending HOF. 5- I am curious to see what happens to Kelsey during interviews. Everyone has mentioned how they won't stop playing the "50 yards on a football field" quote but I'm hoping the payoff is that she really kicks butt during her interview this year. I can't imagine they included that section without some sort of followthrough story line.
