  1. I have never been less interested in this DCC season. Ever. Bored. I'm online watching other training camp videos. Sigh.
  2. Aww, I felt like she was joking about the accent, which is rich coming from a Texan lol (to me, anyways!). She did it with Danielle, too, and as a California-South-New York transplant, I can vouch that miss-scar-a is a thing ?I think she was doing it in a kind way.
  3. Gina, I'm not buying what you're selling but I appreciate that you tried to get closer to people. I don't think you're a bad person, I just think you were forced to be someone you're not. I hope you have close friends at this point in your cheer season now. Kashara, I have a girl crush. You go girl! Like others who have commented, I also enjoyed the blocking. I had anxiety watching the struggle to hit the yard lines. How do they not sweat buckets?! I'm a sweat-er lady. Always have been. How are they not shiny AF, hair drenched, and they still look fabulous. I'd be begging J & K for another water break ? I liked Brennan and I was rooting for her. I see what they mean re: her solo 'tude and field presence. She trained so hard--DCC isn't a joke if you can train for a whole year and still get cut. I hope she doesn't let it devastate her. I was happy for Tasha-what a relief for her. I know the DCC have weight requirements and Tasha has to meet it as well but I wish I had her weight "problem." ?I probably outweigh her by a good 30-40 pounds. Go Tasha! @ preview of Jenna complaining about "I feel like I'm being punished"-- GIRL, SHUSH AND DANCE. YOU ARE BEING PUNISHED. HELLO, WERE ABSENT DURING THE K & J MEETING. YOU SHOULD BE THANKFUL THE TEAM ISN'T BEING CUT TO 35. OY VEY ENTITLEMENT.
  4. Girl, I was TOTALLY watching the other TCCs faces when she came out for anything: a snippet of "noooo", a glimmer of "are you f-ing kidding me" or "thanks K & J". ? I didn't catch anything so hopefully if I watch it again or if someone else catches it, share share SHARE ?
  5. That and in the case of hairography, can't they add a little hair toss (chin down whip it up on a count)? Or maybe they would get yelled at like Kalyssa. If I was a TCC who couldn't get field marks, I'd be at a college field practicing every chance I got lmao.
  6. Finally got to watch this! My thoughts: 1) Holly. Holly, Holly, Holly. I am sad for you. You are my favorite but I think you got a little comfortable here. I think that's going to bite you at some point in the end. 2) I liked the guest choreo portion. I loved how he did some DCC moves. They should consider having him as point guy sometime (this would mortify some but I'm totally open to it ???) 3) Celinda is so beautiful but when she dances her face freezes in this expression that looks--expressless? Idk. I think she is soooo close. 4) Gina--I was rooting for her because she went to my hometown university. But she does come across as that toxic person. It's week five--how do you not know anything about those you say are closest to you?? Also, I took Lacey's comments as Gina giving corrections to other TCCs -but- the corrections weren't correct! Eek! Gina needs some humble pie, indeed. Seeing someone's comment up there about what she and Molly were saying at Chipotle? Smh toxic and petty. I cheered in high school--75% of the girls were snobby and mean, hypocritical and gossipy. Every dance studio I've ever danced in has had the best people in it. Rarely any pettiness-but maybe that was the environment? Ok sorry--off topic off topic...back to episode! Kashara is so cute and I love how everyone there was in good spirits and having fun while trying to learn a little something about etiquette. I love how Judy yells "Y'ALL!?!?" during next week's preview and they are working on across the field stuff. Like she cannot EVEN??? Christina dances too damn soft for me. I'd cut her, the newbie brunettes who all look the same to me I'm sorry they do ? See you in unpopular? Dang--This is as long as Vivian's poem I'm sorry.
  7. I feel like if CMT is the one behind the radio silent summer of DCC info, and now they are making auditioning dancers leave out party's of THEIR LIVES, um.....CMT, you are ruining our show. Stop it lol let the women tell their stories without carving into something else. Oy vey.
  8. Really off topic--does anyone know how to ignore posters via iPhone? Is there a link to do this? Lmao I know it's petty as all get out but yeah.....Sorry if it has been brought up. Lately, some comments make me go YIKES and I saw the mods mention you can ignore people. How do I this on ma phone? Thank youuuuuu
  9. Agree but if I could possibly spin the dancer part--dancers kind of have limited careers depending on their chosen dance technique, and money available for attire, auditions (EXPEN$IVE PREP) and it's a gamble when you get older--injuries, your look, weight, getting chosen during an audition, your competition gets younger as you get older blah blah blah--sometimes dancers pick dance over college as a career because that's the only way they can get into the industry. Sometimes it's just too expensive to get onto a college dance team so they try it right after HS. Hopefully, she has found something beyond dance to pursue, too. One ligament tear can end a dance career like OMG. *apologies for coming across as dancer know-it-all. Just trying to be devil's advocate ?
  10. Oh I wa totally getting alumni envy vibes. Out of all of them, Ashton could probably make it on the team today lol
  11. I stand by my original criticism of the overdramatic showing of the trials and tribulations the ladies have experienced. (Side note: in no way did I mean anything wrong against people battling autoimmune disease--have friends with lupus, Lyme, and MS, it's some life and death ish for sure!). Again, my heart goes out to the ones who have lost people important to them. It's just comes across as choppy and rough. How can a viewer enjoy the show as a young woman discusses losing her father (couldn't even imagine--horrible!) and smoothly transition to the next clip of "here is the same young lady doing 8 sail turns and finishing with a sassy pose!" If they (DCC) didn't go radio silent over the summer, or maybe released these clips over time before airing, it wouldn't be so bad IMO and we would root for them more. I feel like there were several tragic back stories (am I wrong did I miss one?) this year. I'm exhausted emotionally from them. Can we focus on dancing? Not everything has to be a mini "30 for 30." I like the behind the scenes stuff they are showing--Kelly in the locker room with the TCC, for instance. What I would pay to see the PowerPoint/Prezo from first night of TC ? Also, wish they would post the ranking of the TCC - I am sooo curious to see who placed what in finals. It would be interesting to see rookies who outperformed vets and vets who are just untouchable (CERSTEN, THAT'S YOU, YASSSS GIRL) I would have put this is the show criticism thread but I figured my opinion would be unpopular so I came here lol
  12. I had a dance instructor who was basically like Dance Moms Abby: she literally sat on a stool and commanded the choreo and we did it. Leaps, turns, phrases, poses--she never did any of it herself or gave examples, just told us the moves, counts, what emotion to exude, polishing details... Looking back on it, it's kind of amazing she was able to direct and correct us while sitting. Not all choreographers are active. Sometimes, they aren't able to for physical reasons. I've had some choreographers who would do it with us--it's always fun either way! :) Judy is probably the former type. :)
  13. I was actually bothered they showed Holly's costume malfunction--there's no need to humiliate someone like that on national TV, especially when they get so much crap for "risqué" photos. Granted, accidents compared to questionable modeling and weekend lifestyles are not the same thing at all. But I still feel like CMT is violating them in some way. This is going to be a YouTube mess. Poor Holly. All they had to do was mention it in a talking head and keep moving. No need to show America's Sweetheart have a total FML moment. So sad!
  14. Okay. When I say this I am only talking about judging their dance technique compared to the veterans and other dancers. They all seem like super nice people. With that said.... Brianna from NJ? And Rachel? The can't kick crew? REALLY???? Smh. Tasha--even with the interview? Really??? I don't understand. I understand the others. Wow. Shook, to quote the young peoples. I hope my Nashville Briana comes back. She is my DCc fantasy pick for next year lol I was wondering about that! Like, I was concerned someone was going to snap but then I read what you said and that is my hope--it was bad editing. Not a moment of losing it.
  15. These poor veterans showing up with noticeable weight gain. Oy vey--they have to be so afraid because you know THEY KNOW. My heart breaks for them because they probably DID try to amp up their fitness. Yikes on the interviews. Don't say you're a diehard fan and not be a fan which is short for fanatic. Holly, your kicks are so damn beautiful!!!!
  16. Holly, I died with you. How. Freaking. EMBARRASSING OMG POOR HOLLY
  17. @123DCCWoooo I get that the producers are trying to introduce them to us and get us to root for them but ask them something different. They are already a bunch of nerve s so of course they are going to be emotional over certain things and I'm like, why are we crying about our mama like she died but she is there packing your audition suitcase? Lol calm down. At least we didn't have anyone sashaying past the SMU sign with a backpack on. ? I respect your opinions but I LURVE #2. She was so funny "more style, Tony, we need more style". And I love Dayton but she needs another year to polish it up a bit and she'll be good to go. My like of Jenna has dropped each year and I couldn't quite pinpoint why but the last episode (S12, ep 2) just made me smh. She is a great dancer though. Hopefully it was a bad edit #BravoHousewiveExcuse
  18. Oh my gosh this hot tea is so good tonight, ladies. Please direct me to the page that this was discussed on because oh mylanta I'm in shock. I didn't catch this on the boards!
  19. I love you so much for this post #sippingteaaaaaa!!! I'm also happy Maggie and Kelly are as kind as they appear. :) I hope your daughter had a great experience overall!
  20. I agree! And can I add because I'm here lol: Yes, the women will likely be around world famous people but politics, religion and other such things are SO polarizing. The interviewers shouldn't ask these questions as you're kind of pushing people to defend their stance on polarizing topics, even lightly! I'm a moderate but I know that perfectly nice people are straight vilified for being Democrat/Republican/etc. I think it is more important for the women to be able to communicate and handle meet n' greets and engage with fans and the DC sponsors. Anyone asking cheerleaders about deeply intense things about politics and religion, etc. is kind of rude IMO-- the cheerleaders should be told and trained how to tactfully dodge these bait conversations when they make the TCC as a whole. I worked in a super conservative workplace and even I knew how to gracefully dodge conversation bullets. Simply and politely saying "I am not familiar with the topic, apologies" or "I am uncomfortable with the topic may we discuss something else" would take care of those issues. Not knowing your future DCC chain of command, current president and First Lady is wrong--know your bosses, ladies lol. Not knowing current world situations is a bit naive but just say you're not familiar, can we discuss something else?
  21. I like that the show runners tried to give us what we wanted, but all they did was give us filler and not so much what we wanted. Does that make sense? Can Kitty get an hour long webisode so people like me who love her can get an extra dose? NJ Briana - no, honey, those kicks iz you surrious? TN Briana B-girl, YASSSS I am your groupie and I hope you make it to TC! The dancers who can memorize multiple 8 count dance of DCC-level choreo and make it look pro AND nail the kicks are just amazing performers. I see what Kelly means when she says she wants to put her pen down and watch! You have to be a rockstar to do this dance job. I really admire them for being able to do this, bravo to the ones who made it to finals. I'm selfish so I want to hear what they said to all the vets ?
  22. She looks pasty and gaunt. I think her makeup is too harsh for her. She used to be so glowy. I noticed what you're saying, though!
  23. I am LOVING the part with the veterans. I feel bad for some of the women who gained weight because it must be a battle they have all the time. As women, we KNOW when we gain. I can't imagine having that stress when it's a job requirement to be "dancer thin." Tasha looks beautiful regardless and I wish I had her figure. I hope the vets do well, overall. I will miss Melissa forever, she was my favorite! Is it just moi or is Jenna and her segment a little....frosty coming from one side? ? Wonder what that's about ?
  24. Please no more "how I overcame stuff" segues. Some are misleading and some are...over dramatic? I mean....My heart goes out to these ladies, but I'm here for the auditions and dancing. Also, I am a little bored of the ladies dancing in apartments and random studios. Show me more auditioning and decrease the amount of cutaways. I would like to see maybe one whole 8-count before moving to another shot. And I totally don't care about what happens before numbers are called I.e. Dancing like at a dance competition before numbers are called everything seems so disingenuine this episode or fake. Do I need to take a nap?
  25. Puppy dog hands - cupping, limp fingers, not a traditional ballet hand (this varies from dancer, style, etc; basically the middle finger should be slightly and gracefully lower than the other other fingers, the thumb also moving away slightly Google any ballet dancer's "port de bras" and look their hands-the hand should look pretty and light. Not like they are dog paddling! :) Pastel falls under boring, too soft, too flowy when the moves should have extra pop and flair. Compare Madeleine's hip hop style to last year Lindsay's flows jazz style. Both very nice but one is more vibrant in power. Flowy in hip hop looks messy not BAM. Pastel works at noncompetitive middle/high school dance. Not at the pro level :)
