Why did MM assume the dad coached the kid to lie, almost stating it as a given?  Teenagers are perfectly capable of making shit up all by themselves.  I hate it when momma goes into momma mode instead of fiery advocate for justice.  She should have been screaming at the kid that he could have killed someone, starting with himself, not giving him the gentle lecture in the same tone you use to tell your preteens about the facts of life.  And I want to see more emphasis on the need for bicyclists to follow the rules of the road.  Cyclists who drive like they're pedestrians but then demand the same rights as motorists have ruined bicycling for millions.

I can handle that, but apparently there are now people who say they are neither male nor female, with new pronouns for them, sending non-PC me over the edge.

What? That's new to me.  No gender people.

Traditional Italian-American Christmas Eve dinner is to 'fast' from meats the evening before the celebration of Jesus's entrance in to this world, ie Christmas. The '7' signifies, at least in my Italian family, the 7 sacraments of the Roman Catholic Church. Of course, the Italians,, make a feast in itself in the fasting from meat...we have linguini with clam sauce, (first dish), then baked baccala, (cod fish), squid, octopus, fried smelts, stuffed mushrooms, fennel, fresh baked nuts and yes, we have dessert and coffee. After that, we have liquors...like Amaretto, Frangelico,, etc..

Each family has the exact fishes that are customary to their own family...but this is a good outline.

For Christmas Day, Jinger COULD look forward to a wonderful antipasto platter which consists of genoa salami, cappicola, prosciutto, sliced ham, mortadella (imported), provolone chunks, assorted olives with good Italian bread....then comes the main dish, usually, some baked type of pasta...lasagna, manicotti or ravioli with the "meat from the gravy" to follow; ie,, homemade meatballs, braciola and Italian sausage..salad....fruit....nuts yet again and Italian pastries...cannoli, sfogiatelle, 7 layer cookies, sesame cookies, RUM babas, (yes, rum), etc. or a Sicilian Cassatta cake with coffee, either "brown" or black Italian coffee. Of course, plenty of funny stories laughed about, MUSIC, dancing, many HUGS, not SIDE HUGS being passed around and of course, kisses and telling the family how much we love them....PRESENT opening too.

I hope she experiences some of this genuine love and warmth with some of Jeremy's Italian relatives. Hopefully they still keep up these wonderful traditions...It IS all about Jesus' birth.

Sorry if I veered off topic a bit, but this is what Jinger could be looking forward to.

That sounds delicious.  Can an Italian family adopt me for the holidays?

I haven’t been able to participate in these forums for a few LONG weeks because the “reply to this post” function wasn’t working for me. I finally discovered that my spouse placed parental control on our router to keep our young children away from inappropriate sites when they got new iPads. I’m BACK!!!

I’ve been DYING to tell you all who I think Catelynn reminds me of. For months I kept thinking “who does Cate remind me of” and just when I remembered the site was blocked lol.

She reminds me of Aunt Bee from the Andy Griffith Show.

Now I want to apologize in advance to the late Aunt Bee because she was a wonderful character. If Catelynn isn’t careful she’s going to look 60 before her 30th birthday. Google more pics of Cate and Aunt Bee.

Man, it’s great to be back again.
