Agreed. Americans have whole holidays built around cooking outdoors. That and the voodoo thing were extremely ignorant. What is not ignorant is not wanting to take food from someone who tried to pull an okey-doke earlier. That would be Pedro's mom and sister serving chicken feet-something they admittedly don't eat themselves. And don't think it went unnoticed that Pedro was in on the gag. I have no problem believing that entitled brat would take care of their kids. I have no reason to believe Pedro would do the same. Not when Nicole needs a new dress, laptop, tv, flat iron and rent. That's how I choose to guess who is worse. I don't think it's entitled to expect that your husband participates emotionally and financially in your household. I do think it is entitled to ask your son/brother to put you before his wife in almost every way.

Some delicious food is probably being cooked in that pot, but the main point stands. Chantel and any kids that come along will always come in dead last where Pedro is concerned. His mom will make sure of that. Marrying a momma's boy is always a mistake. So is wasting your savings to bring over a husband you don't really know. She could have bought her own ring with that money... oh, wait. She needs a divorce. Let Pedro find someone else to disrespect. Let him see how difficult it is to pay rent for his mother while he has to pay all of his own living expenses. Besides, I hear there's a lady in Sandusky, Ohio looking for a new guy.

Yup. That is exactly what will happen. But if she's still working for her mom, it may already be happening. I had an acquaintance who married her Jamaican vacation sex buddy after knowing him for 2 seconds. He was sending home money too. I'd guess cheer camps in the south can be rather lucrative. And since kids start training for pro sports early, that pulls in enough money to live comfortably. We haven't seen any evidence that they don't work. And whatever money they earn, it's enough so they aren't expecting their kids to pay their mortgage and buy them electronics, groceries and clothing while acting greedy and entitled. Not like someone else's family I might mention...

Maybe Pedro needs to "man up" and explain his culture to his wife, while understanding that he will have to compromise where finances are concerned. He needs to learn about Black culture in the south. His mother already knew to insult Chantel's family by serving them chicken feet that they would never eat themselves. He shouldn't have complained to his mother about the prenup. It's a two way street. Not just capitulation from Chantel. If she's no princess, he's no prince. And his sister should not have the last word in his marriage if he is presenting himself as a grown man. River is an obnoxious asshole. Right. Chantel is the wicked witch of the west for wanting (and financing in her name) a $3500 ring. I know, I know, on the internet, everyone had a ring made of organic lentils and quinoa - but $3500 isn't really outrageous. Meanwhile, Pedro has a $2500 gaming system and has leftover money not for his household, but to buy big ticket electronics, clothes, lots of toiletries (let's stop pretending like these are cheap - this is where unintentional $100 trips to Target come from), rent and anything his mother and sister desire. But that's his culture and we have to respect it. Nah son. It's one thing to help family, but it is not unreasonable to have some limits in place. If this is like Melanie and Devar, then 90% of his income goes out of the household and she is basically supporting two people by herself. In that regard, Chantel's Dad is right that she was better off single. This is why you don't marry your vacation fuck.
