    Yep, it was White Rose.

I think her name was Lisa?

From the episode where Roseanne and Dan make their will. What do you do if it's 2 am and Becky's still not home from her date?

Is Jackie home from her date yet? Threaten Darlene's life I think.

Which apartment number does Jackie live in for the first 4 seasons?

    Oh, that's right:

"Whenever I go on an interview, I just go as me."
"That's why you work in a bar."

That's what Jackie did when they first quit Wellman.  I don't know that we ever specifically heard she was working at The Lobo, but that's the only bar anyone in Lanford ever seemed to go to, and it wasn't all that long after Jackie became a cop that Roseanne picked up some night shifts there, so it would stand to reason that The Lobo is where Jackie had worked, and then when Roseanne needed a second job, she had that connection (beyond being a customer).

I'm reviewing episodes from that time rn lol.

Peaches might be right that she went back there after being a police woman too.

Nice Job!! I only had one different. I included her stint as a TV Talk Show Host instead of the Bike Shop.

I don't remember Jackie working at the Lobo? She was the Perfume Sniper Lady at the Mall though. LOL

    Perfume sniper! Good one.

I don't think Jackie working at Lobo was shown but it was mentioned a couple times in dialogue.

The second season Thanksgiving ep before she told her parents about becoming a police woman Bev starts into a big speech at the dinner table. She says something about Jackie wasting her life away waiting tables at a bar.

There is another scene somewhere where Roseanne references Jackie working at the Lobo. Was inbetween Wellman and police.

Edit: I went back to the Thanksgiving ep. The quote from Bev was "If you want to waste your life living alone and working at a bar...".

  4. The B story with the dog should have been scrapped.

I can't believe noone realized that the animal shelter totally DID NOT work.

The A story was pretty weak too. In the first 5 minutes we know Becky can't have kids and the surrogacy story is dead. Then the last acts are just Becky and Darlene at the Mexican restaurant and that seemed incredibly slow paced. Perfect chance to explain Mark's death, but no.

4 episodes in and they've run out of material.

I also came up with ten:

    Factory worker at Wellman
    Telemarketer for Magazine Discount House
    Bartender at The Lobo
Temp assistant for the annoying architect, Burt
Fast food worker at Chicken Divine
Floor sweeper/shampooer at Art’s Beauty Salon (or something like that)
    Server at Rodbell’s diner/luncheonette/whatever
Front desk/sales at Lanford Custom Cycle
Owner, cook, server, etc. at The Lunchbox
Marketer (free samples) at The Buy ‘n’ Bag

That was fun, so I'll make mine: What jobs did Jackie have over the course of the series?

Hmm that's a tough one. Do volunteer positions count? Lol.

    Wellman

    Lobo

    Police woman

    Lanford community theatre

Sent away to be a massage therapist but never actually did it

    Truck driver

    Lunchbox

    Buy n Bag?

Continuing the theme, what jobs did Dan have?

  6. I almost think they aren't mentioning characters because they aren't sure if they are going to appear at some later point (ie next season).

Maybe they want Ned Beatty to come back but they aren't sure if he will so they won't commit to say if his character is dead or not.

Same with Andy. Maybe they want to leave his character open for future development so they aren't specifying right now.

Color My World by Chicago? It sounded familiar and I googled the lyrics to make sure.

From the Home-Ec episode, how do we know when meatloaf is done?

Since when did animal shelters deem that a women in her 50s is"too old" to adopt?  It's not like she's in her 90s and has dementia.  That whole plot seemed very unrealistic.

Or that that shelter worker wouldn't really call the police when they stole it...

This... And it annoys me so much

Me too. I feel whoever is writing for the show is familiar with the concept of Roseanne but not with the "canon" of Roseanne  like they are writing based on the pop culture conceptions of Roseanne but they never put in the time to actually watch the entire series.

They are missing the easy callbacks to the original which really angers me.

Where would he and his daughter be staying? With Darlene, Harris and Mark there's no room left.

In the opening DJ and his daughter come out of the basement door.

    16 minutes ago, Keywestclubkid said:

speaking of Harris and Mark why are they never around? lol with such a small house you NEVER see them

Simple answer: they don't have anything for them to do. In Fuller House they dispensed with most of the original cast and they only do cameos. The new kids get more focus because Kimmy/Steph/DJ are the only regulars.

With Roseanne, the show is named after her so the show has to still mainly revolve around her. Involving her also means involving Jackie and Dan. Darlene and Becky have main characters too so there's no time for DJ or Darlenes kids.

I really hope for ONE EPISODE they have a pre title scene where Sarah reprises her role as Becky and Roseanne is like "aren't you that Andrea chick?" and she replies "No mother, I'm your daughter Becky... Don't you recognize me?"

Sadly I don't think the revival is wlling to be as self mocking as the original.

Sara Chalke's Becky was often portrayed as a bimbo who worked at an off-brand Hooters but Lecy's Becky always had ambition.

I don't know if I agree with that. Sarah's Becky did work at Buns but that was for a purpose. She was very strong willed in thinking she would work there to put Mark through college and then when Mark had a good job it would be her time for college.

Lecy's Becky is the one that lost all ambition IMO. She didn't care about anything besides running away with Mark and getting married.

I'm not sure I agree with that logic - it was a snarky comment made by Darlene, not that viewers actually believed DJ would end up that way. In my family, we still laugh decades later about snarky things siblings and cousins have said to/about each other. But if we absolutely must change the title to reflect current show events, I suggest "DJ: The Most Successful Conner Kid"

Yes, by that logic all quotes from the tv show are off limits for thread titles.

We should change the Jackie thread title too because we all know now that she didn't actually grow up to be Gilligan.

All the references to Jackie not having anyone and being lonely obviously means that Andy doesn't exist.  Now that the surrogacy storyline is done, I guess this was the last we will see or Sarah Chalke.

I thought it was really weird that Jackie took Becky to the obgyn and she never tried to impart her childbirth experience on her.

The old Jackie would have been like "WELL, when I was pregnant..."

My brother legit tells stories to family about, "My wife and I watch this show."  "My wife went to the store."  "My wife really loves...."   Drives me up a wall!  OMG.  You have no idea how many times I've said, "Yes, we've met.  Her name is...."

But that is your brother's wife... You are only related to her by marriage.

When speaking to you, does he say "remember when my father did this..." or does he say "remember when dad did that...?

  14. I was thinking during the episode "Why didn't they just have Becky work at the Lobo?". I saw something on Youtube where Lecy talked about the Lobo and seemed to foreshadow that the show would be returning there.

The Mexican restaurant seems so sitcomy and cliched. They only did it to have a "colourful" location and to get in some cheap Mexican jokes. It's like the Faberge egg. It's the whackiest, stupidest, most unrealistic thing that Andrea would ever give Becky, but it gave Jackie that line mispronouncing it.

I liked the references to previous seasons. Darlene told DJ he was never allergic to dogs, which is a throwback to the episode where DJ’s friend’s mom gives him their dog and Roseanne tries to give it back. Another throwback: Jackie going to the clinic with Becky and asking her the questions on the clipboard is reminiscent of Jackie going to the clinic with Becky when she asked for birth control, except this time Roseanne didn’t go with them.

I thought they missed an obvious connection to that episode. Roseanne made DJ get rid of it because it was a lot of work to have a dog and etc. She never said anything about him being allergic to it.

You're right it was Dwight and yes he owned a hardware store.

    Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen.

How much money did Arnie borrow from Dan for Nancy's "gift"?

    Incorrect. The question remains open.

What song did Jackie, Crystal and Roseanne sing (badly) when Dan danced with Darlene in the living room?

What did Pete, the creepozoid who was hitting on Jackie in the Saturday episode do for a living?

TBH, I don't think anyone in the main cast apart from Goodman and Metcalf are great actors (a lot of the guest actors have been great though). The show worked/works because they have great chemistry together as a group.

In the first 4 seasons Roseanne acted like a mom. That was good enough for me.

  19. Some of the Qs are getting really hard.

I went back to find that song but it's incredibly quiet and most of it is covered up by dialogue/the laugh track. Plus I've never heard that song in my life which made it more difficult lol.

I don't mind if Jerry and Andy never appear in the show, but I do think the fact that Jackie has a son should be acknowledged.  I can also do without DJ and his family, Fred, Bev, Leon (and spouse), Chuck & Ann Marie, the loudmouth woman who worked at the Lunchbox (forgot her name) and many others.  I would rather see them concentrate on Dan, Roseanne, Jackie, Crystal, etc.  and less on Darlene's children.

They should have made DJ a millenial who never moved out of the basement. Keep him as a weirdo.

I'm sure if they went this way he'd be given a lot more to do than his current storyline of being in the army and being awkward af...
