  1. Carol Potter said on her Instagram that she was filming an episode. Yay! I’m getting excited.
  2. Lol! That was a good song and I stand by it! They just made him play it 743 times during the show. Of course the reruns cut them all out anyway. I caught that episode and thought it was so stupid that she never once mentioned to the professor that she flaked exams in the same way in high school and was diagnosed with a learning disorder, so maybe, just maybe, that’s what happened here? So weird that they didn’t even mention it.
  3. I learned from someone on this forum that BAG has a podcast...I’ve only listened to a couple episodes but I thought this was a good one to share. He talks a lot about Luke. It’s from a couple months ago, probably just a few weeks after Luke passed.
  4. I’m still working through the season 5 eps on my dvr. I’m about at the part with Dylan’s hypnosis and the past life stuff. The thing is, all the soul mate stuff and him pining for Kelly just doesn’t jive with the way they broke up. He was over it and did not seem torn up AT ALL when they broke up at the end of season 4. It wasn’t until season 5 when he finds her with Brandon, and then later after the fire, when he starts pining. It’s like he just forgot how miserable she made him. On another note, I think they did a nice job with the story of David’s mom going missing and him finding her homeless and learning about her mental illness. BAG did a good job with the material and I found it pretty moving. I also appreciated a nice scene that I had totally forgotten about between Andrea and Brandon. It’s when she and Jesse are separated and she’s afraid they’re going to divorce and Brandon comes to see her. She talks about how she somehow backed away from things since high school like Yale and the school paper, etc and kind of felt like a failure. Brandon is sweetly supportive. And I’m glad they mentioned those things she dropped because when they happened they seemed so out of character for her. But her speaking of it with regret kind of helps put a little closure on it. Anyway, it’s a nice moment for the characters.
  5. I absolutely love that two of the biggest movie stars on the planet were star struck by Luke Perry. (The only thing I don’t get is Brad’s comment about Luke being an icon when he was a teen. He’s older than Luke and wouldn’t have been a teen during 90210. But maybe he was just speaking generally or including Leo in his comment, who actually would’ve been a teen then.) Anyway, I love their comments about him. https://people.com/movies/brad-pitt-leonardo-dicaprio-felt-like-kids-working-luke-perry/
  6. I don’t think anyone can argue with Maelyn’s win; she sang so consistently well during her whole run. She sounded like a total professional up there with Sarah Mc. I liked Andrew the the best out of Blake’s team, and like others on here I found Gyth underwhelming. He did well with Hootie and the Blowfish, though. Darius Rucker’s voice sounds as strong as it did back in the day. I thought the skit about Kelly’s clubhouse and John’s song about getting blocked were cute.
  7. I’m rooting for Maelyn and she did great with all her songs, but for the love of all that is good in the world, would someone PLEASE rescind the rights to Hallelujah so no one on this show or any other singing show can ever, ever do it again? Please? Pretty please?
  8. That article was totally reading too much into a couple of social media posts just to further the drama. Jennie wished Tori a happy birthday, and Tori showed a pic of her eating cupcakes with Jennie and Jason. The end. There may very well be drama onset but Jennie and Tori did not “address the drama” like the headline says. Shannen expressed her frustration with fake headlines on her Instagram page and I can’t blame her. She’s in a tough spot because even if she isn’t causing any problems (And I don’t know if she is or not) people are going to automatically assume she is because of the past, and articles like that just feed into it. Edited to add I saw those birthday posts when they originally appeared and it didn’t occur to me at all they were secretly referring to the drama. Seemed like innocent posts to me.
  9. I liked Jesse originally. I hated that plot. It was just bad writing for him. He was fine when we met him, he played softball and had buddies, plus his big family as mentioned above. He was smart and independent. Staying with Dylan made no sense. As they used to say on Mystery Science Theater, “Welcome to another edition of Plot Convenience Playhouse.” Val’s character was all over the map. It was infuriating at times but she could be entertaining and Tiffani did a good job with the craziness she was given. I watched the house party fire episode today and one detail I had forgotten about was that Ray totally saves Steve, Val, Allison’s girlfriend, and others from the fire and is willing to go back in for Kelly until Steve stops him, and I don’t think it’s even mentioned again later. I’m sure the dude had inhaled a bunch of smoke to help save the avocado heads, and no one thanks him because they are too worried about Kelly’s neck burns and that she might not model anymore. On a positive note, Andrea looked really pretty in those string of episodes. I’m glad they rectified her terrible freshman year hair.
  10. Regarding the Scamily skipping town and no one noticing...in an episode I watched today (where they are planning the first rave at the peach pit) Kelly runs into Dylan and says she bought something for Erika and then asked how they are all doing in Arizona. So apparently they said they were moving there, or at least that’s what Dylan told them. But they never really showed any of that, hence my confusion about why no one was wondering where they were. The scene of the party goers lined up to get into the peach pit is HILARIOUS. There are people waving flyers frantically, and one dude is actually waving his cash around, as if to say “Take my money, please! I’ll pay anything to party at a diner after hours!” Hee hee.... Yeah, that’s the big reveal at the end of the premiere, that she is a bad girl! Did they actually cut that out? The pop reruns are definitely chopped up and the music is ridiculous. A few years ago it seemed like some of the music was still original but now they just cut everything. Even David and Donna playing piano in one ep...You can tell it’s supposed to be Heart and Soul but instead it’s just a slightly similar sounding song. And they couldn’t even use most of Ray’s stuff. Weird.
  11. Interview with Tori and Jennie about the new show. One thing I found promising was a comment Tori made about how the show is a comical look at how they are trying to put together a reunion show, but for the sake of the fans they will eventually get to the “show within a show.” So I think they will at some point actually have some scenes as the characters. Also, Jennie said they actually did talk with Luke about the new show and he was supportive. https://ew.com/tv/2019/05/08/beverly-hills-90210-revival-bh90210-tori-spelling-jennie-garth-exclusive/ Also, interview with Jason: https://ew.com/tv/2019/05/08/jason-priestley-bh90210-revival-fox/
  12. I am not ashamed to say I watched this at least ten times.
  13. Thanks for recap of the season 5 opener; I remember most of that now that you describe it. There seemed to be a lack of empathy from the whole Walsh family about Dylan falling off the wagon. I get that he and Jim had a falling out about investing with Kevin, but it’s weird that nobody put two and two together about him getting scammed. Wouldn’t Brandon have noticed that Suzanne suddenly stopped working at the Peach Pit? There’s a quick scene at the end of season 4 where Dylan is talking to Nat on the phone about how Suzanne didn’t show up for work, so it doesn’t sound like she even tried to give Nat a cover story, she just took off. So she and Kevin and Erica disappear, Dylan disappears for the summer, and when he comes back he’s a raging drunk again and nobody thinks something is up? Then in a scene where Val is asking Jim about Dylan all he can say is stay away from him because he’s brought our family a lifetime of trouble? Dude, maybe you could recognize that he was doing really well for awhile and wonder what has happened that he is now off the rails again. Now, I realize they eventually do the intervention and try to help him, but it’s just odd that it never occurred to them earlier that there was a reason he started drinking again, and that gee, maybe it could be related to the sudden disappearance of the guy to whom he gave access to his bank account? I give way too much thought to this, I know. Lol.
  14. Season 4 is generally a bummer for Brenda; she seems so subdued and Shannen’s voice even sounded a little different too. But there is a scene I love...Dylan is at the Walsh house to talk to Jim and then he sees Brenda in the kitchen and they start talking about her play. She thanks him for the necklace he gave her on opening night and for standing by her through everything. The scene is shot beautifully, with them leaning in closely to each other, and they both look dreamy and amazing. So much yummy chemistry just lingering there between them. Sigh. So, I realize Dylan was drunk but him confronting Brandon and Kelly at the fundraiser (“My best friend and my best girl”) was just a little weird because at the end of season 4 he and Kelly had broken up and he didn’t really seem too upset about it. Plus he had (presumably) slept with Brenda before she left. Factor in the history of him getting together with Kelly while he and Brenda were still together, and I really don’t think he has the right to take a moral high ground about Kelly and Brandon getting together. However I did miss season 5 episode 1 this time around; so I realize I may have missed something. But I’m pretty sure he and Kelly had been broken up all summer, right?
  15. “Seinfeld” comes to mind as an example of someone playing an exaggerated version of himself. I think Matt LeBlanc has a show where he does too but I’ve never seen that. Yes, that’s Jennie in the pic. I’ve seen some pics of her where she looks like herself, just older, and others where she looks different, like she had work done. So I guess it depends on the day! Tori always looks like a totally different person to me.
  16. Look what Gabrielle posted yesterday! Makes me so happy to see the gang together, but also so sad because Luke isn’t there. This has got to be the first time in like forever that all of them have taken a picture together.
  17. Yeah, I feel the same. A lot of these people are talented but it’s been a long time since I’ve seen someone who just blew me away. I caught some of American Idol the other night which I haven’t watched in years, and felt the same. Since Adam Lambert was guest mentoring I ended up falling down a YouTube rabbit hole of his old Idol performances and he was just light years ahead of most of the contestants we see now, as far as the total package of voice, charisma and performance. I’m ready to see someone like that again.
  18. From what I understand it’s supposed to be a funny/satirical take on the actors coming back together for a reboot. So yeah, they will play heightened versions of themselves. Sounds like it could be entertaining but I really wonder how they will handle Luke’s passing. Seems tough to write into a lighthearted show. I’m going to try to trust that the actors will make sure it’s handled well.
  19. I caught the last half of All in the Family during the Carter marathon and had to stop to watch the rest of it. So much emotion from so many different directions. You have Benton trying to save Carter, Elizabeth and Romano losing Lucy, the staff processing everything. Sobricki going on about feeding his dog while his poor wife realizes he has totally gone off the rails. So sad on so many levels. Such compelling drama.
  20. Bumping this thread up in case anyone is watching the Pop episodes right now. They are in season 4. Just have to say I think Donna looks super cute in these early college episodes. She looks like a normal college student and her wardrobe is cute without being wacky. Her hair looks good too. Bravo to the wardrobe people, I appreciate their efforts at that particular moment in Donna history. Also, although it’s totally unrealistic that Brandon would run into Emily on his first day in San Francisco, I do really like them together in those couple of episodes. John Sears is so slimy.
  21. Tonight we saw that CHiPs was on, so we put it on for a few minutes to show the kids some cheesy 70’s tv. Well imagine my delight when I see our very own Felice Martin show up as a...wait for it...lady truck driver. She was wearing flannel and had a Dorothy Hamill-esque hairdo. It was awesome. She was actually really cute, in a 70’s kind of way.
  22. I also seem to remember that after Shannen left and there were so many articles about how difficult she was, Brian was one of the only ones to say he really missed her. So I’m thinking they probably had a good relationship.
  23. Yeah, that was in college. At the dance I mentioned David was onstage the whole time. I do like that scene you mentioned, David and Brenda had some good unexplored chemistry.
