  1. I don't buy that they will bring Chris back. ABC decided he should go, and they are not going to reverse themselves for this.  (And it doesn't matter if we think Chris deserved to be fired or not. ABC has people who decide these things, and they have WAY more data than we do.)

I don't think bringing him back will fix anything either. The show is tired, and the format as it is cannot withstand the onslaught of people who are more concerned with social media followers. I don't know how to fix that, but they need someone with fresh ideas to do something different with the format.

But seriously, she seems like a nice person who’s more than just her boobs.

Definitely.  I'm as pro-boob as anyone, but Ariel has shown hints of a sharp brain and a dry sense of humor.  I think she's saying the right things now, but ultimately I think Zach would bore her.  If his conversation with Katherine on their one-on-one is normal for him, Ariel's going to have to be patient.

I feel sorry for that bear in Cocaine Bear. I don't think it's funny that a bear gets addicted to cocaine.

True story, too.  Doesn't end well for the bear.

I know we've gone through discussing this before but it's funny how BiP has turned out the largest number of successful couples. Even Bach Pad has a better success rate than The Bach considering it only ran 3 seasons.

I think Big Brother has had more success in making lasting couples than The Bachelor.  Survivor too, probably.

I'm so happy to learn that the other spoiler source was wrong about Zach picking Gabi! I like him with Kaity so much better. Gabi is lovely but she complains too much. Maybe Zach will join Sean as the only other bachelor to gain a lasting relationship from this franchise.

Matt James for you on line #1 :)

I wonder if being a Mandrell is part of what created her sense of entitlement?  I’m sure there have been people sucking up to her all her life because of her family and now she can’t handle that she might to get what she wants.

Maybe, but it might be simpler -- she seemed drunk pretty much the entire episode.

  7. It's taken me forever, but I've identified Brooklyn: she's one joint away from being Ria from Chicks in the Office.

Someone tell me when Jess is old enough to rent a car, so my crushing on her will feel a little less weird.

Yeah she came off really harsh - I don’t know if she was leaning into the “bad bitch” part or if she felt above these ladies as someone who has experience in the franchise. But once again she missed the mark and came off super unflattering and even downright mean.

ETA - glad Zach put an end to her hopes of joining the cast quickly. I like him so far. He seems kind, honest and mature but also no nonsense. I expect that by the end of the season he will annoy us all like every other participant tends to. Hoping not though!

I kinda think the whole point of Tahjz's scene was just to give Zach the chance to show the group it was them he wanted, which made them all feel good about him.  Production probably felt no more enthused about his ability to bond than we did, so they pulled this tired stunt QUICK.

If it turned out he liked Tahjz and her Desperate Bad Bitch Energy, then they get more drama. Win-win, unless you're a viewer.

It always kills me when the women sit around complaining that they 'don't get to talk to the bachelor' yet they don' seem able to get up and make a move of their own. They just sit there and act like misunderstood victims. Do something!! Stand up!! Interrupt someone else and dive in there!!

I *think* access to the lead is controlled by production. There was a story last week where the Indian girl who licked his ear stopped the RC to chew them out about not letting so many of them talk to him.

Yeah he did look stunned when she first brought it up. But I loved how he handled it - making her comfortable, telling her that he wants family so therefore her news was positive. I think for him it might be too fast of a move to start out with a family right away but I also get the feeling that if he really likes her he would go for it.

Yeah, he did great in the end.  Once he realized he missed potty training and 3am feedings, the light seemed to dawn some... :)

I just don't think it's fair to the other women that Christina gets to meet the family so soon in "the journey."  Also, it might not be fair to her because now she probably thinks she's leader of the pack, but she might not even make it to the Final Four.

Judging by the panic in Zach's eyes when he heard about the daughter, she might not make it out of next week.

  12. It's outside the purview of this forum, probably, but I would be interested in a discussion about the similarities between "cancel culture" (which would necessarily include a definition) and the simple exercise of the free market.

When it comes to someone like CH, yes he's a human and a U.S. citizen and is free to engage in lots of different things. But he is (or was) also a commodity, so ABC firing him reads to me less like censorship and more like trying to avoid a boycott -- which is the engine of how free market capitalism works.

But this probably isn't the right place. I am glad I didn't have a megaphone with a memory -- I don't know how teenagers exist in a social media world.
