There's a chance he did, but we didn't see it. Maybe her reaction wasn't over the top enough? Or it was obvious she didn't GAF, so to speak? On the other hand, being honest with Kaity kinda blew up in his face, so maybe he was a little gun shy.

I agree. Other leads have said production sets the order. The lead just picks the ones he definitely wants to keep or definitely wants to boot, and they draw up a list. That might have been Jesse's lasting contribution to the show from his time as lead.
